A friend who believes he is cheated of finances is quickly offended, and few things destroy best friendships faster than money matters gone wrong.

The happiest married couples are those who have become best friends. So before you fall in love, make sure you actually like that other person.

As it is important to weed your garden, so it is to clearly communicate with your friend. Suspicion will instantly end with an explanation and anger with an apology.

Money and fame will make you many new friends, but none are better than the old ones. New friends tell you what you want to hear, old ones tell you what you should hear. New friends will come to your party, but old ones will help you clean up. New friends come to laugh and play; old ones come to comfort, help, and advise.

Friendship is an obligation. So if you constantly ignore invitations, what message do you send?

It is an insult to give a friend a gift in place of an apology.

Good friends in life are better than wealth, fame, and power. So work hardest at being a good friend.

I have learned something profound in the last six hours. That an internet audience is extremely hard

I have learned something profound in the last six hours. That an internet audience is extremely hard to please at all times. I am also learning the boundaries which exist between people from different backgrounds. I must admit that if I were not the Jew I am now, I most probably would be offended by my last posting. That being said, I am not feeling very happy about the outcome of my writings.

I don't know why Arutz Sheva {IsraelNationalNews} published that article at this particular time. I read their Rabbis every day and study the weekly Parsha in light of Israel politics on their site. Yesterdays encounter on JTF combined with reading this anti-missionary piece on A7 news culminated in my wanting to bring light onto this subject. It has caused me much pain in the long run. What I wrote may have lost me a good number of readers who had come to my site for the reason of discussing the problems at LGF which I share with them. Honestly, this was not my intention.

I am motivated to write only what I feel Hashem places into my hands and mind. Life is a learning experience and it is not supposed to be easy. I spend a good amount of time battling the Nazi and Islamic anti-semitic ideals in cyberspace. Sometimes I worry that our enemies may be looking for me personally {Don't worry mom!}. I do not fear them, as I believe my date with destiny will come when it will. I often say that I try to learn the wisdom from Pirkie Avos of "Be like Aaron, a man of peace. Seek peace and pursue it".

One of the paradoxes in this world is that every thing has an equal but opposite factor. The fact that one strives for peace will inevitably cause one to enter into a situation where force is the only way out. Peace doesnt always mean doing things which please everyone. All a Jew needs to do is read last weekends Parsha of Pinchas to learn that the man of peace needs to rise to the occasion when it is needed. A similar Jewish kabbalistic concept is that the middah of Chesed must be tempered by the middah of Gevurah. In english this means that the trait of Kindness & Mercy must be tempered with Strength & Restriction.

As a human being I know that the people of the whole world are made in Hashems own image. We are all his creation. Adam was neither Jew or Gentile, he was Adam HaRishon. He was the first human made with the same strengths and weaknesses you and I have. When one reads the story of Bereshit does anyone think for a second they would not have eaten from the forbidden tree?

What I learned is that I need to consider who I am talking to before I say what I want. The power of speech, which the Jew believes is the most powerful instrument G-d gave to his creations, is potentially a dangerous weapon. It was wrong for me to post this in a forum which is read by a mixed community.

Anyone reading this who thinks I should remove it please send your comments.

Thank you,

If they were really beefin’ ya know the network would’ve urged them to keep it behind closed doors…no professional would air their dirty during work, especially live on air. To think Rosci would really catch feelings and risk her career over something so petty like teasing is just dumb. Earlier in his visit the Pope had condemned the abuse of minors as evil and ‘a grave betrayal of trust’.

See article from The Guardian

This mass has been seen by some as a reinforcement of the Catholic Church’s fervent commitment to dealing with the issue of child sex abuse. However, other groups and individuals have denounced its private and exclusive nature, suggesting that by the church simply selecting the four individuals invited, there was no opportunity for open debate and reconciliation.

In the book, The Screwtape Letters, Lewis almost makes it out to seem like the biggest reason the devils are against God is because they cannot accept or believe his plan, that he honestly loves, especially creatures like us. I have read other authors, too, who mention satan's being out of sorts with God because he simply can't accept that God would want to save creatures such as us and, frankly, I oftentimes have a hard time accepting this as well, especially that God would want to save such a one as I. So, to the heavens, to the angels (I'm excluding fallen angels from this) and other beings (if there are others), to the beings who more understand how very "awe-full" God is, to you I say I am sorry. I am sorry I do not respect your God more; do not revere him more; do not stop in my steps and fall on my face in those micro-moments when I catch a more accurate picture of how very praise-worthy he is; I am sorry I am so very fallen and do not even really try to stand upright, but instead stupidly wallow on my my stomach like a bug or a pig. I am sorry I am so arrogant that I dare not accept his help when he offers it; that my pride (as if I have a right to any) stands in the way and me allowing him to give me wings; I am sorry I have the courage or perhaps it is cowardness to dare think, "You can't love me, I am unloveable," when he has freely given his love to me and proved it o'er and o'er. I am sorry he deemed me worthy, or at least useable in accomplishing his amazing plans, but instead of getting up and taking the world by a fire-storm of love, I sit apatheticaly and do near nothing. I am sorry the most interesting and, what should be, intrigueing being in the universe has chosen to reveal himself to me, and instead of searching deeper and deeper into the msytery which is HIM, I oftentimes am too lazy even to lift the veil of Truth. I could say so many other apologies to you beings who do not understand us and our apathy, but even saying only this much, I somewhat doubt my own sincerity...and for that, most of all, I will attempt to be sorry, sorry that even in my apologies I am so feeble and half-hearted.

Green Cabs would like to apologise to customers who have received our customer pack for a statement made within it that states:

"We will be working with groups such as Carbon Zero to fund sustainability initiatives which consist of tree planting and native bush regeneration."

This statement is misleading due to the fact that Greencabs funds its own tree planting through Trees for the Future.Trees for the future is a Non Profit organisation that focuses on agro-forestry and has been planting trees in third world countries for the last 30 years.

The statement unfortunately portrays this as being in partnership with groups such as Carbon Zero. This issue was further compounded by Green Cabs decision to not go with Carbon Zero for our certification, as was the intention at the time the customer pack was put together.

We further apologise to anyone who has received a customer pack and may have been mislead.

It is still our intention to have our carbon neutrality certified against the ISO14064 standard through an independant certification body providing third party assessments of management systems.

Well today I received a letter from my attorney regarding the DYFS case. I am somewhat disappointe

Well today I received a letter from my attorney regarding the DYFS case. I am somewhat disappointed in the matter. At this time the caseworker(s) want to keep the children and have them stay with my step-mom and father. They also are requesting that my girlfriend and I take parenting skills classes. On the request it also mentions that I take Anger Mangagement classes.

At this time we have been seeking information as to these courses with no luck. I did find those courses online and do wish that the Agency can pay for those services so that we can begin classes. Another course is being given near hour home for free but their office does not have a set schedule for Parenting Skills.

The other thing that is bothering me is the Allegations brought by the other caseworker. I made a mistake by placing her photo online and did apologize here on my other post. All I ask is that the allegations be dropped so that I can focus on my two beautiful children.

Once again to the other caseworker that placed the allegations, I am truly sorry that I placed that photo online, it was not my idea to request information as all I was trying to do is test out my other blog. I thought that my other blog was set to private and not made public. I would never place any photo without permission from the party. I also did not know my rights as a blogger, writer, photographer. Did not realize the law affecting these post. Please drop the allegations for the sake of my children, they do come first.

Anyone have any comments please let me know as I seek help solving my case. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It brought a happy lump to my throat to read that my good friend and mentor, Mr Barrie Crampton, has retired from Colne Valley High after 37 years.

Barrie became head of Sixth Form during my second year in it, and I was highly honoured to then go on and work alongside him in English lessons and extra-curricular activites such as the school magazine and TES Newspaper Day as a Teaching Assistant.

Barrie is an amazing man, who inspired and enthralled hundreds (if not thousands?) of students over the years. It was a pleasure to watch him teach; he knew the best way into the minds of every student, and was not afraid to recognise his own limits too, a noble quality sometimes lacking amongst people these days.

Such was my admiration and respect for him, I would often request to work with him each year, rather than leave our lesson rotas to chance. My departure from Colne Valley was not under the best of circumstances, and I feel now that I did let him down.

So Barrie, I do apologise profusely for doing so. But I wish you and Vicky every happiness in your retirement, you’ve earned it!

I had the house to myself this weekend, so like any self-respecting 20-something, I did the only thing I could think of that didn't involving drinking - I went shopping. And why did I go shopping when my wardrobe is overflowing with clothing goodness? Because I single-handedly threw out at least half my clothes.

I'll be the first to admit, I'm a pack rat. I've lived in the same house for almost 25 years, in the same room for almost 10. I've collected a LOT of junk. Also, being the youngest of three children, I've also been blessed with a lot of hand-me-downs.

But, dropping a dress size tends to help you weed out the clothing that you don't want to ever fit into again, so I got some garbage bags and went to town.

Just a few of the various highlights and lowlights of the swirling clothing vortex that is my wardrobe:

- The pink velour dress circa 2000/2001, a present from one of my friends. It still fits and will most likely be worn next race day.

- The three dresses that differ only in colour. Not a very flattering fit, no matter what body shape you have, and I can't remember ever wearing any of them.

- The brown fake snake skin trousers. Again, never wore and not too sure how they got into my clothing in the first place.

- My very first suit jacket, with matching skirt and trousers

- The explosion of colour that were at least three pairs of capri pants, covered in flower prints

- The masses of tie dyed dresses that have not seen the light of day in years

- The three pairs of jeans that not even the "pants dance" can get me into

- And finally, the black PVC skirt, circa 1999

Now I know that I don't have the world's best fashion sense (as evident from the lowlights of the weekend), however, I think now is the time for my friends to apologise for letting me leave the store with those purchases.

So, if you went shopping with me anytime between now and 1996, I'm ready for your apology. I'm not sure what you were thinking when I bought these with you, but I'm thinking it wasn't nice thoughts - especially with those tie dyed dresses.

I will forgive you, since most likely, I've made you buy something equally as bad, but from now on, please remember....friends don't let friends buy tie dye.

This song is kinda personal, I guess. Well actually all my songs are personal. But this one is for someone who I owe a huge apology and I'm still...not sure how to do it. Hopefully you know who you are, if you read this. It's for you.

The Letter

I was cleaning up the corner
Of an old forgotten hall,
And a box of papers caught my eye –
A memory so small.

And I drew it closer to me
Read the letters one by one,
Let my mind go back to where I was,
When my life had just begun.

One simple page made me stop and take notice,
And I wish I had sent it to you,
But you never had a clue –

I poured my feelings down
To show you what was lost,
And I gave you all the answers,
Ignoring all the cost.
But I never sent the letter,
So we never dealt with truth –
My old friend, I am so sorry,
For everything I’ve done to you.

Paper fluttered to the floor,
Right out of my hand,
I stood and walked into my past,
That far and distant land.

There were times we laughed together,
Listened to each other cry.
We had everything two friends could want,
Under our own blue sky.

I wish I could go and set back all the clocks,
Make our wishes all come true,
But there’s nothing I can do.

I poured my feelings down
To show you what was lost,
And I gave you all the answers,
Ignoring all the cost.
But I never sent the letter,
So we never dealt with truth –
My old friend, I am so sorry,
For everything I’ve done to you.

I didn’t ever mean to do
All the things I did to you.

I received the following apology letter from Stay True Brand. From the sounds of it, it was a misunderstanding and some loser had sent them the art saying they created it for them. I understand, and I accept their apology. They removed it from their page, and sent out messages and bulletins with the apology letter.

I, in no way, would ever disrespect a company that indeed lives by their name and “Stays True”. Let this be a lesson to everyone to be careful of what you put out on the internet, because it could easily be stolen, and also, not jump to conclusions without giving the other person a chance to explain themselves.
Here is the letter I received:

A McCain surrogate of course. Bud Day, you know that guy who was involved in the Swift Boat veterans group that brought down John kerry. Ok so this kind of talk coming for Bud Day isn't surprising but anyways here what he says,

One of John McCain's fellow POW's in Vietnam defended the war in Iraq, saying, "The Muslims have said either we kneel or they're going to kill us.''

...

Colonel Bud Day added: "I don't intend to kneel and I don't advocate to anybody that we kneel, and John doesn't advocate to anybody that we kneel.''

Muslim leaders have complained that they have been vilified as terrorists since the Sept. 11 attacks.

What is the world was this guy thinking. He also implies that McCain agrees with him. I don't know what McCain thinks, but McCain needs to get new surrogates. McCain camp has not disavow these comments yet, but I'll post the response when its available.

@@ UPDATE @@

MCCAIN CAMPAIGN WONT DISAVOW

BUD DAY'S COMMENTS

THE MCCAIN CAMP SAYS, "The threat we face is from radical Islamic extremism.". FIRST, I HAVE TO SAY THAT BUD DAY NEVER SAID RADICAL ISLAMIC EXTREMISM HE SAID MUSLIMS, YOU KNOW IN A GENERAL SENSE REFERRING TO ALL MUSLIMS. WOW, THIS IS MAJOR, A SURROGATE SPEWS HATRED AND MCCAIN AGREES. INTERESTING.

Remember when some volunteer groups removed two Muslim women, without the campaigns permission. These people were so mad, they request personal phone calls from Obama, they wanted tickets to his next event, they wanted a public apology, even Rep. Keith Ellison the only Muslim congressman yelled at Obamaat a closed door with the congressional black caucus because of this. And what happens when Muslims are disrespects by a McCain surrogate that supposed to be representing McCain, they go silent. Typical this election year. Im not a Muslim but, if they expect to stop being depicted as not American or as terrorist then they are going to have to step up and take a stand against comments like this. The hatred against Muslims is despicableand if they want to be respected, then they will have to speak out against stuff like this. The media is definitely not going to because they are in love with McCain. And I doubt Bud Day, who by the way is the head of McCain truth squad group, I doubt he won't be fired unless theres outrage. These kind of people should not be involved in American politics.

It is crucial to stay up to date on news-- the political campaign, the new deadly sins, Brangelina's twins, and international quarrels. But most important of all? The odd stories that leave you cringing from the awkward situations people got themselves in to. From such stories, we learn from others mistakes, and are cognizant not to make the same ones. Let that be a lesson!

Without further ado, I present you with awkward news articles in an effort to improve your decision making, and reduce the level of self-awkwardness:

http://www.boston.com/news/odd/articles/2008/07/16/judge_ny_man_in_offensive_costume_must_apologize/

I don’t believe I’ve heard a sincere apology in years. Not from me, not from anyone.
I

I don't believe I've heard a sincere apology in years. Not from me, not from anyone.

I don't even believe that apologies make any fucking sense at all.

In over 90% of horrible situations where fault can be found, the guilty party had: a) time to think it through; b) other options readily available; or c) the option to examine the situation more closely and acquire the information necessary to make the correct decision.

Which means that if you weighed, balanced, and considered your options, and you tried to think outside the box, and you did what research was possible, and made the best possible decision, and everything STILL went to shit... well, how on earth can you be genuinely sorry for that?

If anything, someone should buy you a drink for at least valuing your responsibility enough to submit your will to a decision-making process, and do the best you can. Someone should be praising your best efforts, when your efforts were actually the best you could do!

If, conversely, you're simply a hysterical, underwhelming screwup, who jumps to the first knee-jerk course of action that presents itself, that's a different and more thoroughly disgusting story. Because at the end of it all, when the fire department finally puts the flames out, and you're standing there in the spotlight being asked "what, in the name of baby fucking jesus were you thinking...?" you're going to answer in one of two ways.

These are the only two responses I've ever seen given. Ever. Bar none, no exceptions.

1. Mumbling, stuttering, emotionally and intellectually detached statements of submission and propitiation. "I dunno / I'm sorry / I screwed up / I'm really sorry..." Just pathetic, self-pitying escapism into oneself and one's self loathing and abandon.

Put another way, "I know you've been terrible inconvenienced by my rampant neglect and disregard for anyone else, but really, I can't bear or stand another minute of guilt, so I'm going to just shut off now, and stop listening to the tears and the grief and the accusations."

OR.

2. Arrogant, outlandish fury; unmitigated assault on anyone and everyone who dares to point the finger at them. High volume, high tempo, and highly offensive ramblings to distract any of the negative attention away and deflect onto every circumstance from raindrops to rapists the blame and the rage that's currently directed at them. If pushed, a curt, tight-voiced "SORRY." will echo out, but with no feeling, no mercy for the victim at all.

In short, "Go fuck yourself. I may have fucked up, I may have totally screwed you over, but I'll be damned before I give you an ounce of decency in return for your pain. I cannot be blamed. I cannot be wrong. I've been wrong my whole fucking life, so now, it's your turn to be wrong. How dare you blame me for this."

So what am I bitching about tonight, really? Where's the personal conflict that I'm trying to work out and exorcise? Where's the splinter in my mind and heart that drives me to such scathing and miserable observation?

I've been wronged a lot. We all have, I'm sure. Who gives a fuck, right?

But where you might want money, or favour, or a kind word as reparation and satisfaction for your injury, I've only ever asked for justice.

I want my pound of flesh.

I want you, my abuser, to learn from it. I want you to regret. I want you to burn like I have, to look in the mirror, and look in your own eyes, and see only your mistakes. I want you to never make the same mistake again, and I want you to suffer deeply for it so that the lesson becomes learned.

It seems so fiercely wrong to me that it is the victim that bears the scars. I want you to be lied to for every lie you told. I want you to be robbed of your faith and your hope.

Most of all, I want you to exact it upon yourself. I won't raise these hands against you unless I intend to kill you - my punishing you will teach you nothing. I want you to be human enough to punish yourself. Not because you're fat, or ugly, or worthless. Not because you missed that promotion at work or because your girlfriend dumped you. You punish yourself for these things out of selfish greed, out of a need for the nail and cross, to define yourself, to gauge yourself.

You punish yourself for these trivialities to avoid responsibility for your real crimes. You fucks. This is not a game, where we sit in a circle and receive equal penalty in turn. No fault insurance. No instigator rule.

There is no providence that arbitrates the suffering. You cannot shoot yourself in the leg to preempt someone else shooting you in the head - if you wronged him, and you took from him what mattered most, you should and will suffer by his hand.

We adopt these neuroses as poor payment for our souls. We know perfectly well how horrible we are. But we are cowards, are we not? Laugh at ourselves before someone else can? Hate ourselves before someone else can? Kill ourselves before...

The samurai believed in the idea of 'death before dishonour.' He would rather take his own life than be thought of as a liar, a cheat, an abuser of men. Knowing that he would do this, no false claim would be made against him. Knowing he would do this, he would not stray from his ethics.

We don't have that anymore. We have no fear. There is no death, no mortality in our lives. We have no respect for the possibility of death. People run their mouths, crash about, trusting in our laws to keep us in line. When we fuck up, we shoot a sick, weak apology out the side of our mouths and carry on without a second thought.

We do not learn from how we hurt others. We just hurt, and hurt. When pressed, our pity is for ourself alone - but these artificial cuts leave no scar to equal the victim's. It's this reason we hate the victim: he reminds us so vividly that we are too cowardly to bear the brunt of the trauma we inflict.

We are cowards, and we do not improve.

~ Driz

I'm guilty. I was wrong. I made a mistake, and I'm sorry.

We live today with a lot of stereotypes about a bunch of different groups. I personally subscribed to one of these stereotypes and posted all about it on one of my old postings about Atheists. It wasn't right. I based my view on a few specific Atheists and just assumed they were just like everyone else. But obviously that's not true.

In my posting I said that all Atheists are positive there is no G-d. I said that all Atheists are missionaries out to "convert" those of us who do believe in G-d. Plus a few more things that i have subsequently found out aren't right

Obviously I was wrong. I got comments from at least 2 different Atheists (i know its only two, but I'm not out to make generalizations about a whole people that are clearly wrong) who completely disagreed with that view, and one who even went as far as to say that

That is only true of a few idiotic, overly confident atheists. I and other more scientifically minded atheists are what they call weak atheists. That is, we believe that the notion of God as traditionally understood, (e.g. one that writes books and answers prayers) is highly unlikely (not that we no for sure, mainly because you can’t prove a negative), since we have seen no evidence in support of such claims.

That is a very fair and well thought-out view (although I hope that with continued reading you will understand that there is evidence for the view that I express and my knowledge of G-d :) ). I was the one who wasn't fair, and I'm sorry to those of you who were offended out there in TV land.

I can admit when I'm wrong (unlike some other bloggers out there, hint hint). Bill Maher is famous for saying that it's not fair that regular people can change their minds, but when politicians do it it's called "flip flopping" and it's not fair. Well, I agree. I have changed my mind (at least a little) on the people of the Atheist movement (although not so much on the movement itself). And it's a good thing I'm not a politician or else I couldn't freely admit that. I just hope you'll can respect me for it too.

Thanks friends, and keep reading and commenting

I just needed to say it. Congrats on the job. Take care of yourself and that arm."

why is it that i dont think about him, im happy not to think about him, and the second he makes contact with me i first think fuck him, then start crying. fucking douchebag. i deserved an apology 3 weeks ago. i refuse to respond to him. he doesnt deserve any type of feeling from me. he doesnt deserve my anger, he definitely doesnt deserve my forgiveness. but why is it now he needs to say something, he NOW wants to get something off his chest, he NOW feels he has the right to say anything to me after hiding that he cheated on me. he broke us. sure there might have been some cracks, chips and plaster, but he shattered us. i never knew i would be the one left in a sea of fragmented feelings, grasping on to anything, digging myself deeper and deeper because i was too stupid to believe that this boy could do such a thing.

Friends of Adam Eaton hold an intervention at Citizens Bank Park
Maybe this makes me a bad person,

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="435" caption="Friends of Adam Eaton hold an intervention at Citizens Bank Park "][/caption]

Maybe this makes me a bad person, but last night I edited Adam Eaton's wikipedia entry so it would begin like this:

'''Adam Thomas Eaton''' (born [[November 23]], [[1977]] in [[Seattle, Washington]]) is the worst [[starting pitcher]] in [[Major League Baseball]]. Unfortunately, he plays for the [[Philadelphia Phillies]].

Some bearer of the flame of unbiased truth washed away my snarky commentary (and rightfully so), but when someone else described his performance this season as "poor," and provided his 3-8 record (19 starts), 5.71 ERA and a combined 17 hits and 14 runs (19.89 ERA) given up in his last 6-1/2 innings, no one removed "poor," citing it as a weasel word. Because it's not. Those numbers are unbiased. He is a poor pitcher right now.

I'm not the only Phillies fan who gets sick when they see Eaton's name and W-L record in their morning paper. After Eaton surrendered 8 hits and 7 runs to the Diamondbacks Saturday (final score 10-4), he was an easy and obvious target for ire in the city of brotherly love.

Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer is actually pretty fair to Eaton:

before you call your favorite talk-show host and demand J.A. Happ's return from the minors to take Eaton's place in the rotation, consider this: Eaton hasn't been as bad as his numbers might suggest.

Oh, when he's been bad, he's been off-the-charts bad. But if you take away his four worst starts, he has a respectable 4.06 ERA in his other 15 starts. That's actually better than the league average of 4.24.

Cardichi takes the position of the team, and tries to figure out what to do with Eaton, bringing in tidbits about Saturday's game while contemplating the ramifications of Eaton's 5459469652th consecutive poor performance. Manager Charlie Manuel tells him he doesn't know what he's going to do until after the All-Star break. Eaton says he finds a mechanical flaw while watching some video after the game. Cardichi doesn't really provide much of an opinion on what the team should do, he's just takes the team's temperature on the matter.

Rob Parent of the Delaware County Times reaches some conclusions about the Eaton problem, his talks with Manuel and pitching coach Rich Dubee lead him to believe Eaton won't be starting for a while:

At best, it could be construed as an open door invitation from the manager for Eaton to take an extended midseason vacation. What could change it is if the Phillies brass finds a creative way to slam the door shut altogether on $8 million man Eaton, which is probably what Manuel, management and the common fan man on the street all want, anyway.

Hold up. Let's just take a second to consider that Adam Eaton makes $8 million a season. $8 million to be the 6th starter in the rotation, $8 million to habitually give up a smorgasbord of hits and runs. Are you kidding me? There are landscapers more deserving of $8 million.

Parent has addressed this common fan's frustration of his readers in his article, and I think in doing so, he's done a great thing. Airing grievances is an important function of opinion columns, and that goes for all opinion columns, not just those concerning sport.

Nick Piecoro covered the game for the Arizona Republic and unsurprisingly, the Adam Eaton problem was not a major component of his story. Instead, he focused on things like Arizona starter Randy Johnson's unorthodox but effective offense in the game, reliever Leo Rosales dealing with the atmosphere of his first away game, and updates on RF Justin Upton (strained oblique muscle) and Padres 1B Tony Clark (who AZ is trying to re-acquire). It's more a series of brief features, kind of a "news & notes" on D-backs players than a game story.

Goes to show you've got to consider your audience when you're writing. Arizona readers wouldn't give a damn about how crappy Adam Eaton is or what the Phillies are going to do about it. Their team won, and they'd rather hear about the two-run double their gangly quadragenarian pitcher smashed off Eaton to help their team win the ballgame.

The AP report of the game found Johnson's two-base knock to be the defining feature of the game. Associated Press stories are printed in newspapers everywhere, so they need to find stories that are interesting to a wide array of readers. With baseball, it is rarer and hence inherently more interesting for a pitcher to step up and get a game-changing hit than it is for one to have a poor performance.

And maybe here's where I atone for my own poor performance as a person, Internet user, and aspiring member of the media. To Adam Eaton and the rest of the Internet, I am sorry for publishing biased information and passing it off as absolute truth. I did it as a fanatic, which is one step away from being a maniac or lunatic.

I won't do it again. I promise.
