Voici mon "long" vidéo.
[clearspring_widget title="Animoto.com" wid="46928cc51133af17" pid="486f84b8863a27b3" width="432" height="260" domain="widgets.clearspring.com"]

[clearspring_widget title="Animoto.com" wid="46928cc51133af17" pid="486f850bf2a61f72" width="432" height="260" domain="widgets.clearspring.com"]

Et comme je m'ennuie souvent de Londres, j'ai fait un dernier essai sur London Calling de The Clash..

[clearspring_widget title="Animoto.com" wid="46928cc51133af17" pid="486f852c80ce057b" width="432" height="260" domain="widgets.clearspring.com"]

La qualité des photos diminue beaucoup, mais c'est quand même hot comme résultat, non? Sachant que ça se fait tout seul hyper rapidement?

Hi-ya friends and net-neighbors!
It’s the weekend of our Independence. Our country is now 232

Hi-ya friends and net-neighbors!

It's the weekend of our Independence. Our country is now 232 years old and we have so much to be thankful for. Sure the cost of everything continues to rise (what's new?), and people are feeling the pinch (anyone remember the Carter Administration years with long gas lines and 21% inflation?), but all in all, we're doing OK. As always, the economy will turn around. We just persevere until then. That's what we do.

I try to imagine what my ancestors had to deal with back in those early days of America. They were here in the mid 1600's helping to establish this nation. One hundred years later when the "host countries" began demanding more and giving less, they had to decide whether to give in to it or fight. I also try to imagine if we were cut off from the imports that we receive (oil and all that stuff made in China, for instance), what we would do then. The price of everything would escalate dramatically. But maybe "Made in the USA" would become the theme once again, and our nation would persevere. We did it before. With great determination, we could do it again. And THAT is what makes us a great nation.

So with that off my chest ... let me show you a few things I discovered this week on the World Wide Web in this issue of Jim's WebLetter.

This week, Google began added a privacy link to it's front page following a 2003 California law requiring all websites that collect data from users to provide a link to the page that tells how data is collected and what is done with it. (http://tinyurl.com/567475) This comes at a time when Google has been ordered to turn over user data on it's popular video site You Tube. (http://tinyurl.com/6aahz5) Read the fine print, folks ... the government wants to know what you're doing on the Web. Mind your "p's and q's". Big Brother is watching. By the way, Barack Obama has already said he backs governmental surveillance. A flip over what he was saying on the campaign trail months ago. Apparently many of his supporters are up in arms over it. (http://tinyurl.com/5aors4)

So it's official, a record number of downloads in one day went into the Guiness Book of World Records for the Firefox 3.0 browser update. The total of 8 million downloads were recorded. This after Mozilla, the parent company, had problems on it's site the first part of the day and no one could get on. And what's hot about the new FF3? Faster loading pages and better security. When clocked, the new browser opens and displays pages up to 4 times faster than Internet Explorer. According to the BBC, the latest tally shows 28 million downloads since the first day ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7486668.stm

I tried out a new Web Application yesterday that imports your photos, let's you select from a wide variety of music, and then puts a video together for you. It's called Animoto. Several features make this the latest cool app to use. First, it is intuitive. It selects from several graphic features built into the system. If you don't like your video, hit the re-edit button and it will remix your photos with new graphics. Once completed, you have options to upload to YouTube, send in an email, burn a DVD or save it to your desktop. While the basic version is free, you can only create :30 second videos and it has only a few options, the full featured version has several options but can run some money ... figure you can build and edit all the videos you want in a year for $99. http://animoto.com/ Here's a clip I created of our trip to the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland ... http://animoto.com/play/673eZl0BAqluhw0UNqc3mQ

Finally, if you play music, you understand there is a need to keep time. But how many people own a metronome? How many people KNOW what a metronome is? Answers to this and an online metronome is found at http://www.metronomeonline.com/

<==HuMoR==>
At an annual Bosses Night dinner in Helena, Montana, where legal secretaries sponsored their lawyer bosses, it was time to announce the Boss of the Year.
The master of ceremonies began: "First of all, our winner is a graduate of the University of Montana. So that already eliminates some of you as candidates."
"Our winner also is a partner in a downtown Helena law firm. That eliminates some more of you. "Our nominee is honest, upright, dedicated..."
A voice from the audience cut in: "Well, there go the rest of us!"
(thanks, Julie)
A group of managers were given the assignment to measure the height of a flagpole. So they go out to the flagpole with ladders and tape measures, and they're falling off the ladders, dropping the tape measures -- the whole thing is just a mess.
A group of engineers arrive and see what the managers are trying to do. They walk over to the flagpole, pull it out of the ground and lay it flat on the ground. They measure it from end to end, give the measurement to one of the managers, and then walk away.
After the engineers have gone, one manager turns to another and laughs. "Isn't that just like engineers? We're looking for the height and they give us the length."
(thanks, Joan)
FOOTBALL FANS!
The National Football League recently announced a new era. From now on, no offensive team names will be permitted. While the owners of the teams rush to change uniforms and such, the National Football League announced, yesterday, its name changes and schedules for the upcoming season:

The Washington Native Americans will host the New York Very Tall People on opening day.
Other key games include the Dallas Western-Style Laborers hosting the St. Louis Wild Endangered Species, and the Minnesota Plundering Norsemen taking on the Green Bay Meat Industry Workers.
In Week 2, there are several key matchups, highlighted by the showdown between the San Francisco Precious Metal Enthusiasts and the New Orleans Pretty Good People.
The Atlanta Birds of Prey will play host to the Philadelphia Birds of Prey, while the Seattle Birds of Prey will visit the Phoenix Male Finches.
The Monday night game will pit the Miami Pelagic Percoid Food Fishes against the Denver Untamed Beasts of Burden.
The Cincinnati Large Bangladeshi Carnivorous Mammals will travel to Tampa Bay for a clash with the West Indies Free Booters later in Week 9.
And the Detroit Large Carnivorous Cats will play the Chicago Large Mountain Mammals.
Week 9 also features the Indianapolis Young Male Horses at the New England Zealous Lovers of Country.
(thanks, Joseph)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
My husband and I have always exchanged chores around the house, including doing the dishes, which I hate to do, and mowing the lawn, which he hates to do. This worked to our mutual satisfaction until he began to be bothered by people in passing cars staring at him as he relaxed while I mowed.
He solved the problem by presenting me with a T-shirt to wear while I was cutting the grass. On the front, big letters said: "IT'S ALL RIGHT." The back of the T-shirt proclaimed: "HE DOES THE DISHES."
(thanks, Jennifer)
===========================
And that's this week's peak at the Web. Thanks for your time and for those who sent along the jokes, thank you too! Have a great weekend and look for the next issue to come along next Saturday.

Until then, may God bless you and keep you safe.

Thanks to a heads up from Mashable.com we learned that Animoto now has pricing for businesses. If you have a restaurant, small business or simply need to bring photo galleries to life this site will do the trick. We spoke about Animoto on the show when it first came out in Beta and I'm still a fan. Animoto allows users to load photos, select a song from their database or one that the user has rights to and they will create a music video. There are of course two types of videos; 30 seconds and full length (approx. 3 min.). Users are allowed to make a couple samples before they charge you a flat rate to mix a video. Their are a couple of great features like the remix button and the export to YouTube option that make this site even better. Here is a copy of the video I put together and aired on the show last week and on Jim & Jade's morning show last Friday.

Many of you may already know of Animoto. It is a web site designed to help you to create professional quality videos. I have played around with it several times, but always felt limited by the fact that I only had 30 seconds without having to pay a yearly fee.

While at the Google Teacher Academy, someone (I can't remember who though) mentioned that they emailed the company and asked for it free for classroom use, and they were granted free access. I decided that it was worth a shot and was directed to the education program. They do offer the program free for those using it in the classroom with students!

I plan to both use this to convey information to students as well as to have them create short videos. In fact, one of the first projects I am planning will be a blogging assignment in which they watch a short animoto created video about types of technology.

I love Animoto. I’ve written previously about doing several productions on commencement and alumni weekend, packaging dozens of photos with music using Animoto and posting them on Youtube. They’ve brought a whole new audiences to us.

Last week we discovered one more. As Christie, my student employee, and I stood out of the porch enjoying a break, a helicopter flew over and circled. “What’s up with that?” Christie asked.

“It’s for Camp Cadet,” I said, realizing I’d forgotten all about it. The helicopter landed behind the mountain on the football field for a demonstration. “Let’s send Matt up for photos,” I said.

Christie was way ahead of me. She and Matt spent the next three days photographing. Photos of the helicopter demo, the session with the drug-sniffing dog, covering a simulated crime scene, and lots of marching.

Camp cadet is sponsored by the State Police. The kids get up at 5:30 every morning, work out, eat breakfast and get on with activities, moving to each new spot in that well-rehearsed march which the kids seem to love.

“I have yet to get a picture of someone smiling,” Christie said after the third day. They were a pretty serious bunch. She went to the cafeteria during lunch. As she took photos she told the kids they were going to be on Youtube. The kids were excited. The counselors were excited. The State Police were excited.

At the end of the week, armed with several hundred photos, Christie spent the weekend producing two shows for Youtube.

Now I’m figuring that every kid will go home and check Youtube. They will text friends. Parents will check it out and call friends and relatives. It sounds like the state police will spread the word among their colleagues.

Again, these are new audiences we wouldn’t otherwise have had.

I’m not concerned about recruiting students. In this case I’m more interested in giving people that something extra, finding new viewers and underscoring that Mansfield is up on the technology.

And yes, we’re going to cover some more camps.

Artists and photographers check this out.

Animoto.com
is a web application that creates MTV-style videos with the click of a button.

Users simply choose a song and images. Animoto then automatically generates a unique video for them. No two videos are ever the same.

Many of the post-production techniques that the founders used while working as producers for MTV, Comedy Central & ABC are used in Animoto's patent-pending Cinematic Artificial Intelligence developed to think like an actual editor and director. The resulting video is produced in a widescreen format, containing the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer.

Animoto Productions is based in New York City with an office in San Francisco.

I made a video in about 20 minutes. Its very cool.
Because I already had a portfolio of pictures I wanted to put in it took me no time at all.

I think any photographer, artist etc. could use this in a huge number of ways. Wait until you see how cheap you can get a full video for. Only 3 dollars. You would be mad to not try this out if you are looking for a quick solution.

I made this video at animoto.com

Well this was an education posting videos on Wordpress.com. It was actually quite easy. Apparently you need to use Vodpod. You install a widget-like menu item on your bookmark toolbar and you can add and embed videos into your Wordpress blog from Youtube, Animoto, or various other sites. Wordpress has a Vodpod widget that you can add to your sidebar of videos you have faved on Vodpod.

Anyways.. Here's that video again that I put together through Animoto. Hope you like it.

I recorded a video of myself sleeping for couple hours... It turned out pretty boring to watch this recorded tape. So I decided to make multiple captions.

I chose this activity because we, human, sleep 1/3 of their life sleeping! Well, I do sleep everyday and probably it is my most favorite activity in the world! In this sense, I call sleeping activity as a from of art. This picture of me sleeping wouldn't tell you any story, but in my brain, there must be multiple dreams going on! You can imagine what it is! This picture can be interpreted in many different ways.

Difference between art and life is that art captures specific moments in life and life gives opportunity to make it into art to last forever. Life goes on and disappear from the time, but art captures the time and stays forever.

Note: By the way, my hairs are way too long for me. So I wear a hairband when I go to bed.

*I edited this again today. I just compiled all the pictures into a short movie clip!

I've been playing around with a new application called Animoto. They are a bunch of techies and film/TV producers who decided to make an application that automatically generates pro-quality videos from pictures. Very cool!

I mixed some photos from recent trip to Red Rock Canyon and Laughlin, NV. It's posted on Animoto as well as below on YouTube (however, the quality level on YouTube went down a couple notches) because I can't determine if Wordpress.com supports the Animoto embed feature. It's unlikely it does since Wordpress.com won't support Java scripts...it's always something with Wordpress. I'm likely to be doing a few more of these videos in the future because Animoto just works so well.

Animoto, a service that helps users make videos out of their pictures, today launches a new revenue

Animoto, a service that helps users make videos out of their pictures, today launches a new revenue stream: paid high-quality downloads and physical DVDs. Business-model-wise, this is similar to what personal media startups One True Media and Motionbox do.

For its new paid products, Animoto upgraded to 864×480 resolution and 24 frames per second in ISO and MP4 formats and is charging $5 for DVD-quality video downloads and $20 for DVDs themselves, plus shipping. Not cheap, but more probably exciting than whatever else you're planning for your dad this weekend. (You *are* planning something, right?)

Animoto's technology automatically matches pictures to the nuances of music (don't call it a slideshow!). Another company that does this is muvee. Until now, Animoto would host your videos on its site and allow you to embed them elsewhere. Animoto is based in New York and funded by Amazon.

Within hours of finding my post Animoto is Disappointo, in which I complained about a rather disappointing experience with the software, a company representative contacted me to explain what happened to my video and, more importantly, fixed the problem.

While I'm still not in love with the site experience, I must admit that the finished product is pretty cool. Take a look and judge for yourselves.

I’m sure many of you have discovered Animoto, an amazing software program that synchs music with y

I’m sure many of you have discovered Animoto, an amazing software program that synchs music with your photos. It was released in February by a group of techies and tv/film producers.

It works like this: Choose a batch of your slides and music (yours or theirs), upload them and the result is a video that “is a fully customized orchestration of user-selected images and music. Produced on a widescreen format, Animoto videos have the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer.” (From the Animoto home page).

It’s based on Cinematic Artificial Intelligence technology that thinks like an actual director and editor, according to the home page info.

I liked the demo and set my students, Matt and Christie, on it. Play with it. Push it to its limits, I told them. They quickly ran through the limited use for the free version so I bought the $30 a year unlimited use version.

With some events like commencement, alumni weekend, homecoming and our Fabulous 1890s Weekend, we take hundreds of photos. Through traditional media, and even our web site, we use a handful. With Animoto, we’re able to use dozens, as you can see in this video.

In the case of most of these events, the use of slides, special effects and music is often more effective than video. It moves faster with more information per second.

The synching of the photos with the music is pretty amazing.

But there are holes. After posting a commencement video, Christie came in and said it looked crappy. I looked at it. “Bad compression. Contact them and ask.”

She did. The guys were quick to respond that yes there were some things that needed improving and they were working on offering high def video but it would be with a small upcharge.

Well, I do want the improvement but I’d rather pay a slightly higher annual fee than get ‘upcharged’ for each posting.

Matt produced a four- minute show of a Mexico experience he participated in. The rendering time was two hours.

Okay, a few bugs but a wonderful program. The ease of use, the intuitive nature of the program, far outweigh the glitches which I know the programmers will fix. I also have the feeling there will be regular improvements. Check it out. Animoto is fast, easy and right in synch with the times.

If anyone else has used animoto, share your thoughts and experience.

Seems like it has been quite some time since my last post. It’s not that I haven’t been

Seems like it has been quite some time since my last post. It's not that I haven't been super busy as such, just done other things and either forgot to blog or most of the time had nothing much to say.

However, since being away from blogging for a bit, I've got lots to blog about. So exciting!
First off, I found a REALLY awesome site called Animoto. It's great if you've got photos or images that you want to put together in a slideshow. However slideshows are boring and all the same, but Animoto makes your photos in an awesome slideshow that has music video elements to it. The site is made by real film developers and other producers of the sort (hope I got that right) and I've made two so far. The first one was kind of like an experiment to see whether or not I was doing it correctly, but I was, and it turned out really well personally. The second one was a number of guild wars screenshots that I took randomly, and decided to chuck them together to see how'd they turn out, and it was awesome! I really recommend that you sign up and use the site, it's fun to see the end result. Although you're not the one who makes the final product (your just selecting what images you want and music, the site puts it together), it is really nice to see how the images corrolate together with the music. It's amazingly well done for something that is automatic. ^-^
Here are my two videos on my YouTube site:

Like I said, it's not me who does all the effects and everything, but still, if you have some photos that bring you happiness and memories, get a song that means something to you, go to this site, upload it all and you'll end up with a really meaningful slidshow. =]

I wish I had the money to afford nice video editing software. I don't want to crack the software because I've had enough with viruses, spyware, malware and all that other crap. Also, if I did, any films I would've made in the cracked video editing software... would it really be mine? For me it wouldn't feel as though it was mine, and I hate the feeling, I really hate it. To me, if I made a short little film thing, regardless of how amateur it looks, for me it's like an expression of me and something I make with my own brain, and I'd want it done legitimately. That's just my take on it anyway, I don't care what anyone else says. Windows Movie Maker will have to suffice for now hehe.

This kind of brings me to my next little site of interest and that is a site called Jumpcut. It's an online video editing service, where you upload your videos and edit it them through this site. I'm yet to use it, but from what I've heard, it ranks as one of the best, if not the best online video editing resource out there. There are others, but this does look the part if you ask me. However, most good things are too good to be true from my experience, and unfortunately this site is not exception. Apparently you can't export your videos to other sites such as YouTube, so I just gathered that you couldn't share them. =[ Suckage.

By the way, both of the above sites mentioned are still in BETA, but that doesn't really make much of a difference anyhow.

EDIT: I'm having a go at using Jumpcut by uploading a Guild Wars clip taken yesterday. My Internet is so slow its not funny -___- I should stop complaining about slow Internet and be thankful I have the Internet. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. xD Aahh, I'm lame like that.

Right, well another awesome site I found is called Jamendo. This site is awesome because you can download music for free...... legally. Yes! Legally. The reason is because of the Creative Commons licence and it says right there on the site that music artists choose to put there music on the site (their own choice) to be shared and downloaded free. The idea is that by doing so, it gets there name, album(s), song(s) and what kind of music they do, out there in the world. You can also support the artists (haven't done that yet, but I think it's where you donate money, not sure though), and I only skim read the "How It Works" section, but apparently artists get paid as well. You'll have to look more into it, but hey, if you're a music artist yourself and you happen to be reading this, look into Jamendo, and/or Last.fm.

I've already downloaded 8 songs so far, and these artists could really go places. Actually you know what, I'll spread the word out about them.

Lzn02

Roger Subirana

There, please visit their sites, these are only two of the many great artists out there!

Onto something other than recommending sites that I've discovered, I've been recently mildly obsessed with getting a camcorder. I've wanted one for about a week now, and I'm not sure whether it's a one off wanting thing, or whether I really do want it. I know I need a camera to take photos of my artwork, not just to put in my deviantART gallery, but also for the process of making my artworks. It really helps. Plus, I want to film a bit. I'm no pro, but moving imagery can be beautiful to watch and listen, and the fact that it's not a stand-still like a drawing/painting, it allows for a different feel, which I really want to explore. You can record things so accurately and really emphasise things which I probably don't do with my drawings and paintings. My drawings and paintings are my thoughts, heart & soul expressed in an entirely different way to how I'd do so with film and/or photo. That is why, I want to explore those possibilities. Problem is... the price -__-" I'll get there,, hopefully. =]
On photos/film, there's a great site called Photojojo, which is a must-bookmark-and-visit-regularly-site to go to if you have a camera (regardless of whether it's digital/film). It's a site that sends you a newsletter via your inbox enlightning you with tips for your camera, suggestions for photo-taking, photo/camera related products to enhance your photos in print and just a whole lot of other stuff. Even if you don't have a digital camera (such as moi), the site still offers so much to you, and with me, makes me want a camera more and more! >.<"

UPDATE ---> Jumpcut. I suggest using the HTML upload, rather than the flash, unless you trust your Internet that is. I tried uploading ~4 times with the flash upload and it wasn't successful, but tried the HTML upload once, and worked fine. Of course since it's a video, uploading might take a few minutes give or take.

Anyway, I'm going to go and browse s'more music on Jamendo ;P

Oh, one last thing, I found out how to watch dA films. Yes, I'm slow, and I'm waiting for one called, "Who's In Charge?" to buff so I can watch it. ^_^ The preview image looks really good, and it got a DD, so I'm assuming it is really good.

End.

I read about Animoto, a web application that automatically generates professionally produced videos

I read about Animoto, a web application that automatically generates professionally produced videos and high-end motion design several months ago, and somehow forgot about the site shortly thereafter. Then recently, I read about the Beta and was dying to try it out.

Animoto promises to create videos with a fully customized orchestration of user-selected images and music. The videos are supposed to have the visual energy of a music video and the emotional impact of a movie trailer.

Since I had some free time last Saturday night, I used it to upload my personal photos to the Animoto confabulator (my word, not Animoto's). All the while, I had the excitement of a child -- the glee of a 7 year-old who just discovered a new red truck. I was going to create my very own music video, show it off to all the tech neophytes I associate with, and demonstrate my technological prowess to them.

As I uploaded each photo, I began to write the first draft of this Blog post.

'Animoto is an incredible innovation and will undoubtedly push the advertising industry onto the balls of its feet. Small, independent advertising agencies beware...Animoto is here!'

Not so fast my friends.

After taking forever to upload my photos, compress them, render them and do whatever else this application needs to do to make these 'so-called' fabulous videos, here's the message that was returned to me:

Call me a gluten for punishment, but I tried 3 more times to upload my photos and create a video only to receive the same message over and over again...'your video has exploded'. What does that mean and, more importantly, in this day and age, how could you not follow-up with me via e-mail to explain the problem and tell me when it's fixed?

Needless to say, I'm not convinced Animoto is taking over the advertising industry anytime soon. In fact, I think they have a lot of work to do to make this application viable to the masses.

If any of you have had positive experiences with this site, please let me and this readership know so I can provide a fair and balanced perspective on The Third Place.

A few weeks ago, my dear husband got me hooked on Animoto.com. It's a great website where you can go to create videos out of your still photography and put it to music. They let you choose music from their library or you can upload your own songs. They offer free 30-second videos, which are great for trying their service out. I love it so much that I bought a year subscription.

The interface is very easy to use. All I have to do is select the photos I want to upload. There are some options that allow you to feature certain pictures more than others. Then add music and let Animoto process the video. I find it takes me less than 30 minutes to choose my photos and music. The longer the song and the more pictures can take Animoto a while to process, but they have made it so easy to use. You can log out and comeback later to see your completed video. They will also email you when your video is ready. You can email it to your friends / family, upload it, download it (if you pay for a subscription), and more.

Here's one of the videos I recently created. Enjoy!

Yes, once again I appear to have fallen down the rabbit hole and disappeared off the face of the virtual world. I honestly don't know where the time goes. You start out with a nice, shiny, new, day with 24 hours in it and poof in what seems to be about nine nano seconds the day is done, over, finis! So you think, tomorrow, but tomorrow is over in six nano seconds so you never seem to catch up with yourself. OK, enough of that.

I'm here to discuss Animoto. I heard about Animto listening to a Net@Nite podcast. It sounded like something the library could utilize to its benifit so I went over and checked it out. Animoto is an online service where you can upload photos, select a piece of music from their site or upload your own non copyrighted music, then sit back and let Animoto do the rest of the work. What comes back is a unique video that melds the images with the music. If you don't like what comes back just hit the "Remix This Video" button, and even though you're using the same images, and same music, something totally different will come back, no two videos are ever the same.

Once Animoto does its magic there are all kinds of buttons that allow you to do a number of things with your video. You can email them, or embedded them on sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and yes, WordPress (we'll get to that one in a minute). You can also download the videos but only if you subscribe to the All Access Pass. For free you can make a 30 second videos that can not be downloaded, however, for $30 a year you can make unlimited videos of any length that can be downloaded.

I first tired the free 30 second video, liked it so much I asked our Friends of the Library to pop for the $30 All Access Pass, which they were happy to do. So...tada!........below you will find my first effort. Hope you like it, I can't wait to start making more!

I think there is a litte bit of "designer" in all of us. It would just be cool to say, "oh yeah, I'm a graphic/video designer." Thanks to the majesty of Twitter, I was able to run across a great user recommended website that will enable you to say just that, kind of. Behold, Animoto.com. This is an amazing web-based application that will allow you to build a customized video, which is automatically generated, using yourown photos and music. Here is how it works:

- Upload a plethora of your favorite images (here you can choose which are you favorite and the order in which you would like for them to appear.

- Upload your favorite song (note: they encourage ONLY original music, so unless you want to get sued don't use any Top 40's crap

- Generate the movie! (The process takes about 5 minutes or so for the 30 second version, and you will be notified via email when it is complete)

From there you can go to your videos and do what you will with them. There is a YouTube upload option, which will send the video straight to yor account, embedd from their site, and even *download and sync to iPod options (Paid version only)

To make a 30 second movie of whatever your heart desires is absolutely free

The All Access pass allows you to make unlimited length videos for $30... completely worth it. Visit them at Animoto, and check out the video I made to get an idea.

Miniature paintings of Rajasthan often follow the theme of "Ragas", the code
followed in Indian Classical Music. In recent times, this visual folk art is being
rendered through everyday objects (some on the video here, are 'coasters').

The classical music theme on my animoto video is from a
cheesy dance number "Kajra Re" choreographed for a popular Indian film.

Music credits: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy; Film: Bunty aur Babli; Year: 2005
Lyrics: Gulzar; Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Javed Ali, Alisha Chinai
Dance: Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan

It's now been just over a week since the first OpenMusicMedia Meet. A big thank you to everyone who came down and made the night such a success. It was great to have Anthony from Hype Machine down and the conversation flowed all evening. There's now some photos up at the OpenMusicMedia Photostream. Andrew Dubber has also put some photos online and thanks to Grumblemouse for the pic below.

We're now busy planning the next meetup which should hopefully be in late June / early July. The discussion is likely to be on the theme of 'feels like free' and ad-funded music and we're trying to confirm guest speakers right now. All suggestions and feedback are welcome so feel free to get in touch directly or by leaving a comment below. For now we'll leave you with a short but sweet music video of the night made using the very cool Animoto. Don't believe the hype!
