Non ve ne frega niente lo so e se vorreste fregarvene lo leggereste sui giornali ma ciò ke ci interessa è un poliziotto MOLTOOOOOOO speciale....si tratta del bellissimo, bravissimo e bonissimo Raoul Bova!!!

Raoul era infiltrato come poliziotto indossava una parrucca cn capelli lunghi ORRIBILI e un cappellino ke gli copriva il suo bellissimo viso, ke ci faceva lì? semplice: lavorava!!! No state tranquilli, fa ancora l'attore anche perchè passare da attore a poliziotto nn mi sembra un granchè (senza offesa x i poliziotti!) in realtà deve girare presto una docu-fiction e per calarsi meglio nella parte collabora già da diverso tempo cn la polizia.

Cari Scamarcio&Co. prendete esempio! Non basta essere boni o piacere alle ragazzine (cara Woman Torch mi riferisco al tuo caro Vaporidis!) bisogna anche studiare, magari in America all'Actor Studio cm ha fatto Raoul ke poi ha preso parte anke al telefilm "A proposito di Brian" cn l'attore che faceva Matt in "settimo cielo", ha recitato in "Alien VS Predator"....ne ha fatta di strada il ragazzino ke usciva dall'acqua e faceva eccitare la bella principessina Sofia in "Piccolo grande amore"...Senza dimenticare che ha lavorato cn Madonna nella pubblicità della Max Factor....Beata sua moglie!!!

The problem with such a scientific refuge is that inevitably the monsters would fight, as has been proven by such fine documentaries as Frankenstein vs. the Wolfman, Godzilla vs. Mothra, and Alien vs. Predator.

Incidentally, Ridley Scott has been quoted as saying that he won't have an Alien 5 because Alien vs Predator reminds him too much of Jason vs. Freddy, which makes a certain kind of sense. Now that they are battling it out with each other, these alien monstrosities have lost a certain amount of the fear they used to generate from the silver screen. Of course, I played the AVP video game and kept getting killed easily despite playing as an alien so that really killed the "scare factor" of the franchise for me first. Plus, simply the fact of learning too much about how the aliens germinate and spread across space has removed the fear of the unknown that they represented. They're no longer this incomprehensible alien predator, they've become one more space monster to fight. Aliens (the second alien movie) realized this and made it much more of an action movie.

So our monsters, our werewolves, our Godzillas, our aliens need to stay out of the light and need to stay mysterious or they lose the power they represent to us and they cease to reflect our fears. In the light of overexposure, they become cheesy jokes.

For those that ain't in the know like yours truly, there's a remake of Roger Corman's Death Race 2000 coming out this year from cinematic maestro Paul W.S. Anderson (Alien vs. Predator, Resident Evil) called simply... Death Race.  I guess tacking a "2000" on the end of something to make it sound cooler is just so last year.

Anyways, Death Race looks like pretty much every other P.W.S. Anderson movie: Like it's going to be terrible, but not terrible enough to offend me as a human being and want to claw my eyeballs out with a spork.  (That's Uwe Boll's job*.)

I might see it just because Jason Statham's in it and I have a man crush on him.  It also helps that Ian McShane is hanging out in front of the cameras, though it looks like he's kind of slumming it, doesn't it?  And let's not get started on Joan Allen.  She must be in debt to the mob or something.  The mob of SUCK.  Zing!

It's one of the greatest tragedies in cinema that the brilliant Alien series has been morphed into this match-up hogwash.

Both the original Alien and its sequel were two of the best science fiction films ever made. While watching Alien Vs Predator: Requiem, you have to wonder how they can possibly be related. Well that's just it isn't it...they aren't. This is a different film, a different franchise, completely void of tension, suspense or recognizable actors.

As a generic "movie of the week", this film might be worth watching. It is harmless enough with one or two nice little moments of sci fi, but as a feature film (with a huge legacy) it just doesn't cut the mustard.

It is such a shame that we may never see a proper Alien sequel....or Predator for that matter. If only Hollywood knew that this is what we fans want. Instead, we can no doubt look forward to "Alien Vs Predator: Redundant" or something similar next christmas.

ALIENS Vs Predator: Requiem (man I hate typing all that out) is better than its predecessor. I was entertained for the most part, really dug the creature designs, and pretty much got the monster on monster action that I was hoping for. I also really liked the concept of the "Wolf" Predator. He's a bad dude the other Predators call when they need a mess cleaned up. I assume he was named after "The Wolf" from Pulp Fiction. With all that being said, a movie that includes ALIENS and Predator in the title should be a lot better than "not bad." Expectations were just too high from the beginning of this franchise, and there's no way it was ever going to meet them. Now were left hoping that future installments will at least be "not bad." Hoping something is merely adequate is not the way to make people excited about something. Unless FOX goes out and hires Sigourney Weaver and Arnold Schwarzenegger to star in the next one, (with Ridley Scott and James Cameron co-directing), I'm not sure the initial "Crush" can ever be rekindled.

Bottom line, if you set your expectations properly (and seeing the first AVP will help in that regard) you'll probably enjoy Requiem. You'll also be left with a feeling of what could have been.

Si “2001, una odisea del espacio” (1968), de Kubrick, había marcado un hito en el género de la ciencia ficción en el cine, Ridley Scott, en 1979, con “Alien, el octavo pasajero”, marcó otro en el de la ciencia ficción-terror.

Llegó a las pantallas sin que prácticamente se supiera nada de su argumento, y el trailer, como se puede ver ahora, cumplía con ese secretismo. Lo mismo ocurría con la figura del Alien, que no se revelaba completa hasta casi el final de la película.

Su éxito residió en su originalidad (aparte de su reconocida calidad), en su ambiente opresivo, y en que el héroe no fuera masculino. La teniente Ripley (una joven y excelente Sigourney Weaver) daba la réplica al depredador misterioso.

Fue el comienzo de una saga de cuatro películas, que, realizadas las posteriores con mayor o menor acierto, nos hicieron volver a las salas de cine para seguir angustiándonos con los avatares de la teniente y el octavo pasajero.

En 2004, y con esos afanes de andar reuniendo criaturas para sacar de ellas el “jugo” que se pueda, se llevó nuevamente a la pantalla al Alien, en “Alien vs. Predator”, de Paul W.S. Anderson, un film en el que se reunían dos de las criaturas extraterrestres más punteras del cine. Tuvo también esta una secuela, que no reunía ni la calidad ni el interés de la primera, y que se rodó en 2007, con el título “Aliens vs Predator – Réquiem”.

Por el momento, no hay más pasajeros en la nave.

Y veamos el trailer para recordar esta excelente película.

Un film que j'ai regardé sans grand intérêt, je m'attendais à mieux, beaucoup mieux ! Mes impressions : On a droit à un Predator contre x Aliens qui se la joue solo pour réparer la catastrophe que ses semblables n'ont pu éviter par l'invasion d'un Alien (souvenez-vous, celui qui sort du corps du cadavre dans l'espace quand les Predators reprennent celui-ci dans leur vaisseau).

Scénario trop mou, réputation à revoir concernant la force et l'artillerie des Predator face aux capacités d'un Alien... Bref, je pensais que ce Requiem mettrait les pendules à l'heure ! Et bien que neni ! Si vous avez l'intention de le louer, passez votre chemin, à moins d'être un mordu de la saga.

Ma note: 6/10

Just in time for the DVD release of AvPR, yet another masterpiece from FOX, I present to you, another negative review of AvPR.

After the disapointment that was Alien vs Predator (at least to the Predator fans...it was just wrong), FOX released another set-to-fail sequel in hopes of gaining back the trust from disapointed fans (aw, screw that-they wanted money, honey). I, even though I knew the worst was going to happen, was excited for this movie and I went opening week. There were, like, ten people in the theater...no suprise there.

The film was more of a nostalgic look back as opposed to film. I liked the Predator but hated EVERYTHING else (In AvP, I hated the Predator AND everything else), that's an improvment. But to pay $8 to see a movie that was probably worse that Spiderman 3...*sigh*

In sum 2/5 as a very generous rating. I had fun watching the movie and that's what matters.

The Alien franchise has a place in my heart only second to the Scream trilogy. While the latter has thankfully remained untouched, the Alien franchise was destroyed with the cheesy, shallow and pathetic Alien vs. Predator by the horrid Paul W. S. Anderson. In the process, he not only made the superior alien creatures something to be laughed at, but also defamed the Predator franchise as much as possible. I had very little hope for the second part in the franchise but the trailer made me feel better. It seemed (at least on some account) to be better than the first movie. And the truth is, AvP: Requiem was exactly that. The Strauss Brothers haven’t been responsible for a lot of good cinema but they are the reason aliens and predators found a small place in my heart again.

• The fantastic creature effects. Instead of horrible CGI, the aliens were back to wearing suits and slathering themselves with slime, something I completely approve of. In addition, the predator seemed to be decent (instead of it’s obese counterpart in the previous film) and the predAlien wasn’t half bad.
• The gore and brutality. A kid gets his chest blown apart and the waitress…well, let’s just say you have to see it to see it. I’m glad the directors didn’t wimp out like Anderson and gave us a wimpy PG-13 creaturemania.
• The scoring. The strongest point, by far. The Strauss Brothers made the very wise choice of using the original Alien scoring (if you’re a fan, you’ll know what I’m talking about) in some sequences, later in the film.

It’s not a great movie by far, but it brings back those great memories, makes you think of Ripley again.

In the commentary of this movie director Paul W.S. Anderson  talks about how they wanted this movie to look more expensive than it actually was. So they spent a good amount of the budget on the look of this movie.

I have to say that they really made it work because this movie looks fantastic!

Bueno Neca siempre se ha caracterizado por darnos muy buenos productos y esta no es la excepcion. Esta figura goza de muy buenos esculpidos, y seria una muy buena adicion dentro de tu coleccion si eres fanatico de Depredador, o te dices un coleccionador de juguetes de peliculas.

Yesterday was H-T's 12^th birthday, and no one in the universe could have been more excited about surviving yet another year than H-T.  Besides consistently shouting out "Tomorrow is my birthday!" at least 141 times on Wednesday (including one time I overheard outside the men's restroom at Taco Bell), he also woke up at 6:00 yesterday morning loudly reminding me, in case I had forgotten the 31 hours of labor it took to wrench him out into the world 12 years ago, that today was the day!

You're probably thinking that he must have had some incredible party plans to get him so psyched over this particular birthday, but that would mean you don't know my H-T well enough yet.  Nope, there is no big party planned, no clowns, no bowling outing, not even a piñata.  The thing that had H-T up with the roosters, with saliva dripping down his chin?  A $100 Star Wars M.T.T. Lego Set.  Yep...building blocks.  Thousands of them.  Took him two hours yesterday morning just to separate them into color piles (and that wasn't even his OCD kicking in...the instruction book actually advised this - - FYI).

At 11:30, he reluctantly left these blocks of bliss, and only for a couple of hours, so that he might partake of a secondary obsession - - video games.  No birthday for either of my children feels complete without two uninterrupted hours of game time at Virtual Ambush, a gaming parlor  with 25-30 big screen TV's with various gaming systems hooked to them with kids & teens of various ages playing various games at various volumes.  In other words - - kid Nirvana.

We left Nirvana and headed back home, making one more stop along the way - - a trip to the movie store, where H-T was allowed to pick out whatever Sci-Fi flick flipped his fancy.  Once home, he gleefully spent the afternoon and evening watching aliens destroy the world as he built the Lego spaceship that will finally rid the universe of any such threats in the future.

Bedtime for H-T came grudgingly, but peacefully, with various b-day presents laid carefully out on his bedside table - - his Spiderman graphic novel, his Alien vs Predator action figures, and his Anakin Skywalker light saber.

As his eyes closed softly, I leaned against his door and thought back to that incredible, joyous morning 12 years ago, and the promise that his life held.  Little could I have known then that I was raising a new species...ushering in a new era...a whole new generation of geekdom.  Kinda chokes you up, doesn't it?

I heard this song at least three times yesterday. It seems that Valentines Day and Blue Oyster Cult seem to go hand in hand. I've never really listened to the lyrics, so I really don't know what the song is about. I tend to focus on the cowbell, just because you don't hear enough cowbell in songs now days.

In Other News

• Last night a friend called me up and asked if I wanted to see a horror movie. Considering I wanted to do something very un-valentines like, and just wanted to get out for a bit, I agreed.
  Unfortunately, the closest thing to a horror movie that neither she nor myself had seen was Alien Vs Predator 2, we had to settle for that. It really wasn't that bad. The parking lot at the theater was packed, but there were maybe eight other people in our cinema. Naturally, we got there first. Big empty theater. Lots of seats. Wanna know what happened? All eight of these total strangers had the nerve to crowd around us. Really now, how about a little breathing room?
  Regardless, this movie was better than the first one....but I got bored half way through, and started wondering what would happen if you combined elements of this movie, with Brokeback Mountain. Yup. Nothing says 'I love you!' like evisceration and being impregnated by giant drooling extraterrestrial lizard whose bastard offspring will burst through your ribcage in a matter of minutes. Yup. I'd totally recommend this movie to anyone.
• Before the movie started, I saw a preview for the new Get Smart movie. I think this is long overdue, and was pleasantly surprised when I found out they were making it. It comes out this summer, so I know the one movie that I want to see. It's got that nostalgic feel to it, and I think that Steve Carrel is the perfect actor to take over for the late Don Adams. That, and with Bill Murray and the Rock playing agents as well, that'll increase the entertainment value to me tenfold!
• The other movie I've been getting really hyped up for is Iron Man, which is coming out this May. In recent years, I've been really learning to hate the character of Tony Stark in the comics, but I think the thing that appeals to me about this the most, is the concept that they're actually making an Ironman movie. Ten years ago this would have been unheard of. I would have expected it to be some kind of a Power Rangers type movie, but judging by the trailers that I've seen so far I'm really excited to see this. I just hope it doesn't let me down like the last few Marvel movies did.
  Speaking of Marvel movies, they just unveiled the first promotional picture for the Wolverine solo movie. Rumor has it they'll explore his life before he joined the X-Men, but odds are this one won't be getting released until sometime in 2009.
  As long as they promise it'll be better than that last X-Men movie, I'll wait until 2010 if need be. I'd rather that they take their time with these movies, and do them right, rather than half-ass them to get them out as soon as possible. Here's hoping they do it right! I really don't feel like paying to see another Daredevil, Ghost Rider, X3, Spider-Man 3 or Rise of the Silver Surfer. Since Marvel is doing all their movies in house now, maybe they can get things back on track with Iron Man....maybe....
• I hear Safeway is trying to sell off giant Valentine's Day cakes for $5 a piece. As long as you don't care if the icing is pink, then this is probably right up your alley.
• This weekend is going to be the first ever February long weekend in Manitoba. In other provinces, it's called 'Family Day'....here, it's called Riel Day. I've got no problem with that at all. I'm just glad they didn't name it after Burton Cummings.....like they do everything else in this city.... Cummings Day..... Yeah, lets see how many hits my blog gets now......
