I always gotta stop when I think about the fact that I went to the suburban-ass shopping mall, to national chain FYE, and bought a Tanya Morgan CD along with a new RZA project.

To see them cats next to T-Pain and TI and Soulja Boy and whoever else occupies that 8' of shelf space at the fucking record store in the mall...

Mua ha! I defeated both Cybran and Aeon forces in this last battle staged on Earth. I destroyed the Aeon base on the island to the south by destroying their strategic missile defense with my naval fleet and air force, and then I built up my defenses on my island. Then Project: Black Sun was ready to charge up, but it would take around twenty to thirty minutes, and suddenly the Aeons and the Cybrans began attacking full-force with several experimental and heavily powerful weapons, but I built over a hundred T3 Heavy Gunships and 60 T2 Mobile Missile Launchers to counter their attacks-- bringing down countless aircraft, sinking dozens of ships, and destroying hundreds of ground fighters. I also took down several of the enemies' experimental weapons-- five of the Cybran T4X Spiderbots, one of the Aeon T4X Flying Fortress, and four Aeon T4X Gunships. After all of this, Commander Arnold, who was once a UEF commander and presumed dead several missions before but who was captured and brainwashed by the Aeon Illuminate, landed on the island with a force to destroy my base as well as project sun and cause the UEF to fall to the Aeon. I concentrated all of my firepower on him and brought him down, finished charging Black Sun, and fired it. It sent its beam through the Quantum Gateway Networks to several planets throughout the universe, destroying both the Aeon Illuminate and Crybran Nation homeworlds and several key planets. Afterward, the Aeon and Crbran leaders, Princess Burke and Doctor Brackman, surrendered to the UEF.

The first step will involve a study group made up of the largest retailers, Aeon, Seven & I, and Wal-Mart Seiyu, Uny, as well as the Japan Consumer Co-operative Union, a body which has a long history of solving shopping issues such as reducing packaging. The working group will spell out how the labels are designed an the content they should include, as well as which third-party organisations will be used to verify the figures. The system will be tested in the working group's stores and the government wants to move to full implementation by 2010. It's likely that the labels won't be compulsory, but it is equally hoped that opting out would be embarrassing for manufacturers.

Japan, while not obviously the most environmentally concerned country when looking around the rather over concreted 'natural' areas and when considering things such as excessive packaging on many products, is fast becoming a country where consumers and companies alike are genuinely making efforts to help prevent damage to the environment. Ex-Prime Minister Koizumi's campaigns of Cool Biz and then Warm Biz, aimed at making people dress according to the temperature and so reduce reliance on air conditioning in summer and heating in winter, is one such innovative example that has been surprisingly popular – and, at least from the point of view of Uniqlo's apparel sales, quite successful, although I don't know of any figures that prove or disprove the success of these campaigns in terms of reducing electricity consumption.

There are also growing moves to reduce the number of plastic bags given out for all kinds of shopping, and there was a minor scandal last year when it was revealed that quite a few companies labeled their packaging as being made from "100% Recycled materials" when the real figure was often no more than 50%. There are even services such as Navitime which allow people to search for the best train and car routes, but which also show the amount of CO2 used by any particular route.

Just how much these moves will affect consumer attitudes is yet to be seen. Reducing plastic bag use is proving easy to sell to local consumers, but whether reducing packaging will be possible remains a big question mark. At the same time, any such move can only be praised as, clearly as we sweat through yet another May day, anything that helps reduce the impact of modern commerce on the environment is to be welcomed.

In other news GTA 4 has some real awesome nuggets and easter eggs if you look for them. There is stand up comedy performance (machinimated) by Ricky Gervais of The Office as well as awesome music by Justice and Kanyae West which lend a realistic modern touch to the game. Also of note are comedic critiques of the electoral campaigning currently taking place, terrorism, the US medical system and a number of other political and social issues. This includes critiquing the ever increasing use of email be individuals. Rather interesting and probably the real reason why 'family groups' do not like this game.

There is a lot of violence as usual but there are also subtle elements, like the dating mechanics which have been refined and involve a lot more story and which you don't need to be violent to achieve your objectives. You can also just sit in the car and listen to the different radio stations for ages which is really cool. Overall, I am rather impressed with the level of detail that has gone into this game and the characterisation is second to none.

I read the Aeon Corporation website front to back to find out about what they offer and I am impressed with what I see. I am looking forward to the interview but this means that I will need to buy a suit and look all pretty. I also need to come up with a lesson plan and a demo lesson. I am thinking either doing a greetings and farewell exercise or something involving body rhythms and sentence construction. Will have to look into it further.

Either way, this will be preparation for other Japanese jobs I have applied for and eventually one will come through. I will achieve my goal of being in Japan by July next year rather easily I think. Although as mentioned several times it will take a lot of hard work. I might need to consider reducing the intensity of some activities though as that is why I think I am ill at the moment. Still I refuse to see that I am overstretched. This is no doubt a childish delusion. Regardless, it is all go so there should be some fantastic times to come.

Tonight on the way home from a game I got done for speeding I am sure. I was paying more attention to conversation and road than my speedo so I think I got clocked speeding. The estimate is that I was done for speeding within the 1 - 16km over the limit range which means that I will need to shell out $140 odd or so. Still it is the first fine in 6 years so I am doing well I guess. Next time, pay more attention to the speedo.

Valued my car today as well, it looks like I will be selling at a loss beyond my loan so it may be the case that I need to payout the difference of my loan when I go to Japan. That sucks I guess. If this is the case then I am probably looking at having to pay about $2000 - $3000 >_> Stupid car loans.

I've taken to drinking by myself. It always starts out with the best of intentions. "I'll just have a beer." So I have it but realize that I don't have any food. So instead of putting it away (I can't drink and not eat) I drink it. Then I'm drunkish and keenly aware of my alone-ness. So I open another and sink into one of those inner contemplative states that leaves one cognizant enough to form thoughts and complete sentences, but unable to hold on to the cheerful demeanor that colors my sobriety. I stay away from making actual phone calls but do treat myself to three way texting. So far, I have told Mich, heretofore to be called LoPro, that I am unsure of the security of our friendship, told Krispy I didn't feel like being bothered, tried to bait Al into buying me a pizza, attempted to re-seduce Holiday while sending out a feeler to Patches.

What's that bit about idle hands and Satan?

First, LoPro. We're friends and I adore him, don't get me wrong. But I don't feel like we're necessarily real life friends. He has a lot of his buddies from back home down here and that's awesome. Like all male person's of a certain age, he is in constant pursuit of substantial female companionship. I can't begrudge him that either. But somehow, all of this leaves me on the outside, connected to him I feel largely by proximity. When we are together in school, we do have quite a good time. We have a natural chemistry and we clicked immediately. But somehow I can't get it out of my head how this would not be a friendship sustained in the real world. There's about a four year age difference and life differences....I don't think he actually knows anything about me. He may be one of my closest friends at Full Sail but he doesn't know me at all. And it's my fault.

Aeon. My other bff. He's graduating in a matter of days and then he's moving back to the NYC. The two of us haven't seen much of each other lately, either. Scheduling and whatnot have kept us apart as well as my rampant fear of intimacy. See, Aeon likes me. I've deflected his affection enough that it has boiled down to a simple case of lust but I have become fearful that if I hang out with him at all then I will immediately lose my panties.
