For as long as I can remember I have been continuously reminded how fortunate I am to have two older

For as long as I can remember I have been continuously reminded how fortunate I am to have two older brothers. To protect me, to torture me, tease me and, as my mother always says, to enlighten me as to what boys are really like--so that when I got married I wouldn't be surprised. We joke about it now, but back then I would refuse to accept it, my body tensing with frustration, and clenching my fists, vowing to repay them with my innate sisterly cunning. After being chased around the house by N and P threatening to wipe a booger on me, or screaming in agony after one of them walking casually by only to fart directly in front of my face, I would run to my mom proclaiming the indignity that I suffered at the hands of such idiots. She would laugh, shake her head, and say, "At least when you get married, you'll know what to expect!" I couldn't argue with this, because I knew that my Dad would do things to purposely annoy her, too. Man, I hated it when she was right. I needed another tactic.

Maybe she didn't realize how closely I had listened, but I took what she said and turned it over and over in my mind. Some people, whether you like it or not, are just different from you. And instead of openly fighting and raging against it, it's better to get used to it, study how it works, and then decide how to act. This was the kind of intelligence that my family most highly regarded; the ability to put yourself in someone's shoes and discover what really makes them who they are, and plan a course of action. This could be used both to covertly strike back at someone bothering you or to become friends with someone that seemed out of reach. We use it to say to someone, "I know you. I know why you are the way you are," either understandingly or menacingly. Because once you know why someone is the way they are, you know their weaknesses.

In those days I used this knowledge mostly in revenge. My brother's biggest weakness was my parents' over-protection over me, the youngest child and only girl. Nothing I could do myself would faze my siblings. N is six years older than me, so any plot I could hatch would be easily found out and overthrown. But my parents were my secret weapon. If N and P did something to upset me; be it the face-fart, booger-fling, wedgie, or, most often, not letting me help them build a fort; I would get a gleam in my eye and scream like a banshee. Wailing with crocodile tears running down my cheeks, I would run the distance from the backyard up around the house to the front door, all the while slapping myself, usually on the arm, and scratching it until it turned bright red, and told my mom, "They hit me!!" whimpering convincingly. They would inevitably be called into the house, stopped from finishing their project and lectured, all the while protesting they didn't do anything. I would watch from the background, thinking to myself, "Now you'll never finish it today. " I knew it was the worst punishment they could receive. All the men in my family are slaves to their multiple projects. Their burning desire is to "Just get it done!" I admit it was a sinister thing for a little girl to do, watching them and thinking, "Ha. I know you. I know just where to strike." It was petty but it got the job done.

As we three grew up and started getting along, we stopped torturing each other and instead used it once in awhile to irritate a rude classmate or neighbor. But I shied away from using it as a weapon and used it to fuel my curiosity about other people. I would pick someone that usually wouldn't get along with me and try and figure out what made them tick, and then use it to make conversation with them. Usually they would be surprised and we'd form a bond. As a result I made an odd assortment of friends and acquaintances, from 'preppy' girls who liked to match all their clothing, to a boy who was failing the geometry class we took, who babbled about an imaginary battle between the Satan monkeys and the Jesus toasters. It was my secret weapon. "I know you, I know why you are the way you are."

When I met a sweet man cleaning the floor at the house where I worked as a nanny, I put it into practice once more. I was amazed at how much power it had. It isn't just a way to make your brothers or bullies at school suffer, not just a way to understand the strangeness that is a boy. It reached across cultures, across boundaries, across assumptions, to find out the very core of a person who was so different from me, and yet find small similarities. I'm sure that my parents didn't expect me to use our tool this way, eventually falling in love with and marrying a Brazilian man, but everyone will agree that it made for a very interesting turn of events.

After the original upset that occurred, my family is settling around our new member, my husband. And just the other day, I saw P at work, applying the skill with precision. It was such a small thing, but so sweet to see. It touched my heart to see him reaching out to my husband. We were driving somewhere and sitting in his truck at a stoplight, in silence. After a few moments, he looked over and said, "So. How big are the dogs in Brazil? Are they smaller than ours?"

I smiled from the backseat as they slowly engaged in conversation. It started out awkwardly but soon became easy, like speaking with friends. Another connection made.

If we all tried to do it a little more, tried to understand the people around us, even the ones that are really, really different, maybe the world would be a better place. We could all recognize and celebrate our differences instead of insisting that they aren't there. Once we open our eyes and take in our surroundings, we won't blindly stumble from one situation to another. We'll see the truth and know how to help each other, know how to act with each other, getting along with more and more people until there is more peace than war in the world.

Just try it.

Definition. Wireless credit card processing services enable merchants to accept credit and debit card payments on mobile terminals at locations outside of their offices. Depending on the type of wireless credit card processing solution, the mobile terminals may be using short- or long-range networks to transmit the payment information collected from the card’s magnetic stripe.

Types. There are two major groups of wireless payment processing solutions:

Long-Range Wireless Payment Processing. Long-range wireless solutions use the same networks that cell phone carriers use for transmitting voice and data. The service is available everywhere network service is present. It is perfect for businesses that regularly accept payments at their customers’ locations or at trade conventions and similar types of events.

Short-Range Wireless Payment Processing. Short-range wireless devices use the same connectivity services that cordless phones use. The credit card processing terminal can be operational within a radius of several hundred feet of the location of its base unit which is connected to a phone line. The short-range wireless payment processing solution is perfect for merchants with limited mobility requirements, e.g. merchants who need card acceptance capabilities at different locations on their premises.

Advantages. There are several main advantages to using mobile solutions for accepting card payments:

Additional Processing Options. A mobile credit card processing service allows you to immediately process card payments at trade shows, conventions, or on your customers’ premises.

Increased Security. With a wireless terminal the customer remains in possession of the card at all times.

Reduced Processing Costs. Because wireless transactions are processed in a card-present environment, they generally receive the best possible rates.

Disadvantages. There are a couple of disadvantages of using mobile processing solutions that you need to be aware of:

Equipment Cost. The price of wireless terminals is significantly higher than that of regular point-of-sale terminals and can be the deciding factor in your decision, especially if your processing volumes are low.

Network Coverage. Generally described as the biggest draw-back, network connectivity is continuously being improved. You will need to check the reliability of the network that your prospective provider is using in the area you will be operating in before setting up a wireless merchant account.

Business fleet managers have enjoyed the benefits of leasing their commercial vehicles for a long ti

Business fleet managers have enjoyed the benefits of leasing their commercial vehicles for a long time. But now, many sole traders are taking advantage of some outstanding van leasing and contract hire deals and, for many, these are making the difference between staying in business and going under.

The benefits to business of leasing over outright purchase are well known. Importantly, for the small business person, the fixed, known monthly payments enable them to forecast their monthly expenditure accurately. Also, the initial payments are much less than is often expected when buying a van or commercial vehicle using a bank loan.

Van leasing contracts can include all maintenance costs and often will include road tax and other optional extras such as breakdown rescue and even replacement vehicles in the event of a problem.

Mr Saunders, a self employed carpenter, said:

"I desperately needed a new van but my cash flow was bad due to some customers not paying up on time. I thought I'd have to stop trading but then I found out about the advantages of leasing over buying and now I have a brand new Mercedes Sprinter on an affordable van leasing contract. It has truly saved my business."

As well as the clear cash flow advantages leasing also brings a number of tax benefits which can be beneficial to the sole trader, particularly if they are registered for VAT.

So, before you go and take out another bank loan for a second hand van on outright purchase, do yourself and your business a favour and check out the latest van leasing deals. You will be pleasantly surprised to find what you can get for your money.

The contract hire and car leasing industry in the UK has enjoyed enormous growth in recent years, la

The contract hire and car leasing industry in the UK has enjoyed enormous growth in recent years, largely due to the UK businesses providing company cars for their many employees. The term 'contract hire' refers to the fact that the vehicle is actually on hire from the supplier, usually on a fixed term of 2 or 3 years.

Contract hire provides businesses with a number of significant advantages over outright purchase. Vehicles are commonly supplied with contracts that include all maintenance and repair for the period chosen by the customer. There are significant tax advantages for many businesses and the initial capital expenditure is significantly reduced.

The benefits to business include:

Fixed, known monthly payments that make budgeting much easier

Minimal initial capital outlay

Fixed interest rates

Tax advantages

Recoverable VAT (partial) on monthly rentals

Improved cash flow

No depreciation concerns

No vehicle disposal problems

Maintenance (optionally) provided by the leasing company

Road tax generally paid by the leasing company

Various optional extras including breakdown rescue and replacement vehicles.

The advantages for business are clear indeed. That is why so many UK fleet managers now use car leasing and van leasing for all of their required business vehicles.

Globalization, a word that encompasses both positive and negative, seen by some as one of mankind

Globalization, a word that encompasses both positive and negative, seen by some as one of mankind’s greatest economic advancements, yet seen by others as a process by which a proletariat revolution will eventually result.

Most say that one of the ways globalization has affected the world in a negative sense is the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor. Even in a world where certain groups of people in certain countries are living in the lap of luxury, just a few hours away, there are others who live by subsistence farming, those who depend on the rain for their only source of water. Other examples of negative impacts would be the detrimental effects on the environment, and the loss of certain cultures and traditions. With all these negativity being embedded in most people’s conceptions of globalization, it is of little wonder that some view globalization as a threat to our current lifestyles.

However, I feel that these problems are the adverse effects of globalization. The fact that many people simply look past the benefits that globalization has brought us to instead, focus on the negative shows a certain degree of concern for what globalization is enabling, and although it has brought about disadvantages, surely it has also brought about a great degree of improvement in the lives of many?

Economically, much of the world has grown due to globalization. One of the ways in which the world has benefitted, especially for poorer LDC’s (Lesser Developed Countries), is the influx of MNC’s into their countries. With the advent of MNC’S, there are a significantly increased number of jobs for the local job market, thus creating ample employment opportunities for locals. With employment, the salaries and spending income of the locals will increase, which will in turn, boost the consumer market and lead to a more robust economy. This leads to a positive impact in which the country has the chance to prosper. One example of a country whose breakthrough economy used this method of inviting MNC’s would be Singapore in the 1960’s.

Yet another positive impact of globalization would be the way in which the world has seemingly “shrunk”, meaning that while it took ages to get from one country to another back then, it now takes merely hours what took days before. In a sense, the world has been ‘flattened’ as it takes a much shorter time to travel across the globe. One example of better freight services would be that even during certain seasons, we are still able to enjoy seasonal vegetables or fruit that would not have been available otherwise without research and development, and aircraft technology.

Globalization has also opened up a world full of opportunities for almost everyone, what being unknown in the past is commonplace in many societies now, for example, fast food. Before the use of the television as a medium for carrying advertorials, fast food was almost unheard of, especially in the South-East Asian countries. However, with overseas companies coming in to set up stores due to SEA’s comparative advantage, the spread of fast food is seen in the various fast food chains that have sprung up in the past few decades. The setting up of somewhat affordable and quick western food has allowed more to experience the one aspect of western culture, that being fast food.

Personally, I feel that while globalization has brought along with it certain undesirable disadvantages, it has caused our world to become what it is today. Without globalization, we would have never achieved the economic status that many countries enjoy now, as well as the spread of cultures across nations. Therefore, globalization is good for you!

There are many different types of Health insurance plans out there. Picking the right one for yourse

There are many different types of Health insurance plans out there. Picking the right one for yourself can be troublesome in the beginning, especially if you don't know what you are looking for. You might have trouble deciding which one would be better for you.

Health insurance is divided into two large categories-indemnity and managed care plans. Indemnity plans, also commonly called reimbursement plans, will reimburse your medical expenses up to a certain limit. Under the Reimbursement plan, the insurer pays a percentage of the total charges, regardless of how much the charges are. With the indemnity plan, the insurer will pay a specified amount every day for a specified number of days. The amount reimbursed does not rely on the cost of medical care, but what you are reimbursed will never exceed your expenses.

The other popular type of health insurance plans is managed care plans. The three types of policies categorized as managed care plans are HMOs, POSs, and PPOs. This type of insurance is more popular than the indemnity plan, as they offer more flexibility. With these types of options you either pay a monthly fee no matter how many times you see a doctor, or pay a co-payment but no monthly fee. With managed care plans, you are given options of care. The plan you choose and the amount of money you wish to pay determines how big of a network of doctors and specialists you can see and still be covered under the plan. Some managed car plans (most often PPOs) offer sponsorship programs from a network of hospitals and medical services. You can often get this kind of plan through your employer.

Managed healthcare plans are better for the average person due to the fact that they are more cost effective. While indemnity plans may give you a lot more freedom in cost, you will have to use the healthcare provider that the insurer chooses. If you have a specific disability, this can present itself as a problem. In the long run, a managed care plan will save you money, especially if emergencies arise when you are out of town. These types of plans also are more flexible in policy. Before you purchase any kind of health insurance, be sure to research the many options available for you and your family to ensure you receive the best coverage possible for the lowest monthly premium or deductible.

Vector Graphics vs Raster Graphics

This is a lead-in to an up-coming series having to do with OpenOffice Draw which is capable of vecto

This is a lead-in to an up-coming series having to do with OpenOffice Draw which is capable of vector graphics. What most people are used to seeing are bit-mapped graphics such as a photo. Vector images typically present a higher contrast in color transitions.

Advantages to this style of drawing over raster graphics:

Vector-oriented images are more flexible than bit maps because they can be resized and stretched.

Images stored as vectors look better on devices (monitors and printers) with higher resolutions.

Bit-mapped images always appear the same regardless of a device's resolution.

Another advantage of vector graphics is that representations of images often require less memory than bit-mapped images do.

Zooming in on vector images, the image remains smooth and does not anti-alias

The parameters of objects can be later modified.

Moving, scaling, rotating, filling etc. doesn't degrade the quality of a drawing. Moreover, it is usual to specify the dimensions in device-independent units, which results in the best possible rasterization on raster devices.

From a 3-D perspective, rendering shadows is also much more realistic with vector graphics, as shadows can be abstracted into the rays of light which form them. This allows for photo realistic images and renderings

Almost all sophisticated graphics systems, including CADD systems and animation software, use vector graphics.

In addition, many printers (PostScript printers, for example) use vector graphics. Fonts represented as vectors are called vector fonts, scalable fonts, object-oriented fonts, and outline fonts.

Note most output devices, including dot-matrix printers, laser printers, and display monitors, are raster devices (plotters are the notable exception). This means that all objects, even vector objects, must be translated into bit maps before being output. The difference between vector graphics and raster graphics, therefore, is that vector graphics are not translated into bit maps until the last possible moment, after all sizes and resolutions have been specified.

PostScript printers, for example, have a raster image processor (RIP) that performs the translation within the printer. In their vector form, therefore, graphics representations can potentially be output on any device, with any resolution, and at any size.

Computer displays are made up from small dots called pixels. The picture is built up from these dots. The smaller and closer the dots are together, the better the quality of the image but the bigger the file needed to store the data.

If the image is magnified it becomes grainy as the resolution of the eye enables it to pick out individual pixels.

Vector graphics files store the lines, shapes and colours that make up an image as mathematical formulae. Since these formulae can produce an image scalable to any size and detail the quality of the image is only determined by the resolution of the display. The file size of vector data generating the image stays the same.

Printing the image to paper will usually give a sharper, higher resolution output than printing it to the screen but can use exactly the same vector data file.

The size of the file generated will depend on the resolution required but the size of the vector file generating the bitmap/raster file will always remain the same.

Thus it is easy to convert from a vector file to a range of bitmap/raster file formats but it is very much more difficult to go in the opposite direction. However, once the file is converted from the vector format it is likely to be bigger and it loses the advantages of scalability without losing resolution.

Editing will also lose the convenience of being able to work on individual parts of the picture as discrete objects.

Vector formats are not always appropriate in graphics work. For example, digital devices such as cameras and scanners produce raster graphics that are impractical to convert into vectors.

Some vector editors support animation, while others (e.g. Adobe Flash) are specifically geared towards producing animated graphics. Generally, vector graphics are more suitable for animation, though there are raster-based animation tools as well.

Vector editors are closely related to desktop publishing software such as Adobe InDesign or Scribus, which also usually include some vector drawing tools (usually less powerful than those in standalone vector editors). Modern vector editors are capable of, and often preferable for, designing unique documents (like flyers or brochures) of up to a few pages; it's only for longer or more standardized documents that the page layout programs are more suitable.

3D computer graphics software such as Maya or Blender can also be thought of as an extension of the traditional 2D vector editors, and they share some common concepts and tools.

Definition. Wireless credit card processing services enable merchants to accept credit and debit car

Definition. Wireless credit card processing services enable merchants to accept credit and debit card payments on mobile terminals at locations outside of their offices. Depending on the type of wireless credit card processing solution, the mobile terminals may be using short- or long-range networks to transmit the payment information collected from the card's magnetic stripe.

Types. There are two major groups of wireless payment processing solutions:

Long-Range Wireless Payment Processing. Long-range wireless solutions use the same networks that cell phone carriers use for transmitting voice and data. The service is available everywhere network service is present. It is perfect for businesses that regularly accept payments at their customers' locations or at trade conventions and similar types of events.

A mobile credit card processing service allows you to immediately process card payments at trade shows, conventions, or on your customers' premises.

Omg? i'm a health consultant now ;p
anyway i think this is a good information which i get it somewhere and i still don't know who wrote it or whatsoever, well anyway thanks for those whom made the research and also pass the articles around.

Food pattern.

Every whole food has a pattern that resembles a body organ or physiological function and that this pattern acts as a signal or sign as to the benefit the food provides the eater. Here is just a short list of examples of Whole Food Signatures.

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and YES science now shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Eggplant, Avocadoes and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? .... It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and increase the number of sperms as well to overcome male sterility, and guess what they resemble?

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries

Grapefruits, Oranges, and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes

This is some of the food which i ate sometimes, rarely. but all those advantages sure is good for body v^^

Wrist / Hand exercise.

Here's also a hand exercise tips to rest or relax your hand as sometimes, especially gamers - when playing games, doesn't bother the time.. so it's kinda bad for health, be sure to remind yourself to rest and do this simple exercise every 1 hour? or 2 hour? i don't know.. x)
