Por eso, que Gerlero sea el fiscal podría además deparar preguntas ríspidas sobre el accionar de la barra y sus financistas, aún cuando deba restringirse al crimen de Acro.

En cuanto al juicio en sí, en Tribunales confirmaron que recién se realizará en 2009. Es que primero quieren esperar a ver si corre el recurso de queja que presentó Alan Schlenker en la Cámara para que le revoquen su procesamiento. Si eso sucediera, la causa volvería a fojas cero. Y también quieren dar tiempo al juez para que termine con todos los trámites para procesar a Cuca Girón, quien iría al banquillo junto a Alan y William Schlenker, Pluto Lococo y Sergio Piñeiro, en un caso que aún tiene tres prófugos: Oveja Pintos, Kevin Kraft y el Colo Luna.

Un feroz enfrentamiento entre los dos bandos en que se divide la barra brava de River, Los Borrachos del Tablón, terminó con dos heridos de arma blanca, de gravedad considerable, aunque fuera de peligro, y decenas de hinchas con diversas contusiones. Uno de los heridos —en el cuello y el tórax—, cuyo apellido sería Raposo, fue operado anoche en el Hospital Pirovano; el otro —en el tórax y el muslo izquierdo— también fue atendido allí y se apellidaría Verón. Los hinchas que sufrieron contusiones se acercaron a atenderse a la clínica Fleni.

Cuando la violencia que domina al fútbol argentino parecía calma, cuando los hechos delictivos no tenían el protagonismo de los últimos tiempos, surgió este choque que se sumó a lo sucedido en la previa al partido entre Argentinos y Boca (31 detenidos), Godoy Cruz-Gimnasia La Plata (un herido de arma blanca), Vélez-San Lorenzo (pelea entre las dos barras que dominó la Policía), y Chacarita-Tigre (varios heridos y 70 demorados).

Los hechos sucedidos en River fueron, según los testigos, de una violencia feroz. El grupo que responde a Adrián Rousseau, que no estaba yendo a la cancha desde los incidentes del 11 de febrero, le tendió una emboscada al grupo de Alan Schlenker. Pero los enfrentamientos habían comenzado durante el partido cuando los hombres de Alan divisaron a algunos que responden a Rousseau en la tribuna de la hinchada de River y hubo enfrentamientos en los pasillos de acceso a ese sector.

A la salida del partido entre River e Independiente —debajo del puente Angel Labruna que da a la avenida Lugones—, los dos grupos de hinchas, de alrededor de 70 cada uno, se enfrentaron ferozmente. Los que están del lado de Adrián habrían sorprendido a los vinculados a Alan y tomaron ventaja. Varios testigos aseguraron que el grupo de Adrián estaba encapuchado y que después de la pelea se juntó en Ciudad Universitaria. Se supo, también, que ante esa ventaja les robaron las banderas —por seguir yendo a las canchas desde aquella pelea denominada la Batalla de los Quinchos estaban en poder de la gente de Alan—, y dominaron la pelea que duró alrededor de 10 minutos.

El enfrentamiento fue afuera del Monumental y en esa zona no había policías; toda la fuerza policial estaba dentro del estadio ya que, al mismo tiempo, varios socios manifestaban su descontento con la Comisión Directiva y Daniel Passarella (algunos aseguraron que en realidad hubo infiltrados que hacían eso para que la Policía liberara otras zonas, pero esto no pudo ser confirmado).

Los dos hinchas son del grupo de Alan. El herido en el muslo y el tórax fue hospitalizado de inmediato. El segundo fue acompañado por otro hincha que llegó al anillo del Monumental arrastrándolo y pidiendo "un médico, un médico". Ese hincha, cuando llegaron a auxiliar al herido, se fue del estadio hablando por celular y avisando que ya había dejado en buenas manos al herido. Sin embargo, el hincha, con una herida en el cuello que sangraba mucho y que dejó varios charcos dentro del Monumental, gritaba: "Me muero, me muero"...

Cuca, diminutivo del menos glamoroso Cucaracha, paraba en Defensores y siempre estuvo cerca de la primera línea. Se llama Pablo y muchos dicen que tuvo participación de fuego en la gresca de los quinchos. En el súper se lo vio repartiendo entradas y manejando toda la logística de la barra. Toddy es el que le habría pegado al dirigente Gustavo Lavezzari en La Bombonera y maneja junto a Julito la barra de Caraza, que era segunda línea pero que Alan la sumó para su bando en la pelea que tiene con Adrián. Sin ellos cuatro, Alan verá menguado su poder en una historia en que, si todos quieren, termina con Los Borrachos del Tablón fuera del mundo River.

I was excited to meet up with friends over at 5 degrees so after a few dances upstaires with my boys Brendan and Gene, and quick kiss for my Jaime girl- we were off.

5 Degrees, as usual, was packed with your Denver elite. I wish I could say more about it but to be honest, I'm a little fuzzy about this whole hour................ eventually I ended up meeting Janine at Pie for after-hour pizza and then I went home to camp on my porch. Yes, I packed up my apartment for my upcoming move to the Highlands and I popped my tent up on my porch where things felt a little less empty and  more cozy.

Monday was a blur, Tuesday was a headache, and today has lasted forever...

Hace unos días Rafael Hernández quien desempeñaba las funciones de locutor y director de producción para Mortenson Broadcasting Company, propietaria de KTNO 1440 AM en la ciudad de Dallas, Texas USA, le comunicó a varios amigos y hermanos blogueros acerca de su despido de la mencionada emisora.

En un acto de solidaridad y de denuncia, “Es hora de Ser Real” ha hecho un post en donde detalla lo ocurrido y que, para hacerlo más interesante e impactante, contiene un audio muy interesante que revelan las razones al detalle por lo cual fue despedido de dicha emisora.

Rafael hizo una denuncia de un falso profeta llamado Adrián Amado y de ahí surgió todo esto. No entraré en detalles pues los enlaces que pongo en este post tienen todo bien claro… No vacile y haga un click para que se entere mejor.

Today was pretty decent. Although I should probably doing my homework right now but instead I blog to remember this day. This day that I shed tears for the first time since my grandfathers passing. This time I wasn't mourning for any loss of a human being but for a loss of a game. I never really realized how much I loved this sport until today. After defeating Mearue Catholic and Dublin I felt that there was no way we could possibly lose to San Leandro. I wanted to win so bad. We had the game at the end of regulation but we couldn't win it with the power point system. That was complete bullshit. I don't want to point the finger at anybody like most of the parents and my teammates like to do. The referees did seem to favor the team, but whether it was because they were black and San Leandro was dominantly black is not a real reason to why we lost. We lost because we didn't get it done. I wanted the championship game so bad. The controversy throughout the game between the trash talking and the calls that the referees were making just urged me to play through how physically drained my body has been and how tired it was during the last moments of that game. I could not believe that we lost until the they scored. I thought to myself "Am I going to start crying now?" and sure enough tears started to shed from my eyes. Up until that point I had not cried over a lose in a sport since the 5th grade. I don't understand how I allowed myself to show so much weakness. I didn't stop crying until I got to my car at Ronnie's house. I couldn't really talk to anybody without crying even more: after the game once Coach gave his speech, once we were outside waiting for Coach to find out what time our game tomorrow is, and in the Staden's car on the way home. The hardest thing for me was calling my Dad while in the parking lot because I knew that I was going to cry. Sure enough I couldn't contain my emotion while on the phone. Tears constantly poured on the way back to my car. I felt ashamed of how I played and how we finished. This is once I realized how much I love this game. Through all the love comes the hate. And tonight I felt some hatred towards the game I love. I felt like I was betrayed by the basketball gods. I felt that Dr. James Naismith decided that I didn't deserve to win tonight. That he's been watching me from above and saw how many times I could have been playing basketball but instead used the time to sit in front of this computer monitor or skateboard or any other non basketball activity. What more could I have really done tonight? That is the question that goes through my head. I think of the time I turned the ball over once I tried handing it to Ronnie. I think of the rebounds I should have grabbed but didn't because I stayed flat footed while my opponents would grab the rebound instead. I am very disappointed in myself. I used to think my toughest judges once it came to the game were my Dad, Adrian, and Coach Simos. Now though I realize that I am tougher on myself then any of those three could ever be. Why do I care so much about a lose in a championship game in June? I really don't understand it myself. I just wanted to win so badly so that I could have a reason for why I've completely given up basically my high school life to a game that I have not been all that successful at. I wanted to win tonight because then I would know why I've been killing myself at every practice and that I would have a real reason to why I push myself so hard in the weight room. I gave up going to my Emily's dance recital and going to church for a lose. I don't want to look at it that way though but it is the way I am looking at it. I don't regret playing, I just regret how I played. Is there something more that I could have done to help my team to a victory? Was I not hungry enough to help my team be the most elite team in that tournament? I really wish I had answers. Most of all though, I wish I had a long nice hug and no homework.

Sorry for wasting you, the readers time with my random venting about basketball. I do hope though you can relate.

So today I woke up at 10:00 to nobody being home since my brother is always out and my parents are in Nashville. I basically just hopped on aim and myspace and facebook. Yes, I know that I have no life. Obviously if I am blogging every single day. hahahaha. At around 10:35 I went up to my room to shower and what not. I started really listening to the Carter 3. I am not the biggest Lil Wayne fan so I wanted to understand what all the hype is about.

I left my house for Alice's bad around 10:55 feeling like I was going to be late. Not knowing exactly what place it was or having Alice's number + being to scared to knock on the door, I sat in my car calling Megan but she said she was still at her bad. So then I called Helen and chatted with her on the phone for 30 minutes. I then got a call from Megan saying we were going to hang out at Helen's house now because Alice was going to Costco.

I cruised over to Helen's house where I enjoyed some tea and the Disney Channel. Helen then went on to express her love for the Jonas Brothers. I really don't understand why everyone is on their jock but whatever. I guess it's similar to my feelings for Marrissa Miller or Yuri Tag <3. Except for the fact that those are two beautiful women and the Jonas Brothers are bit odd. After awhile of hanging out with Helen, Megan called and invited us to go over to Alice's because they were now over there and playing poker. Since Helen is grounded until forever I went over myself. After promising victory at poker though.

Once I arrived at Alice's place I met her dad, brother, brothers gf, and cousin. I then settled in and played some Texas Hold'em. I was getting some pretty lucky hands and I was able to take out all the competition. I ended up making $18. After the game we then watched the end of the Russia vs. Netherlands game. Russia ended up smacking 3-1. Alice's cousin was pretty upset about that. That crazy Asian man. We then watched the Olympic Trials. It was only the gymnastics though. Those guys are so hub. Man I wish I was as ripped as those guys. Alice then told us we had to go see her neighbors new dog. It was really small. I didn't realize that I new her neighbor the entire time by a codename. WOW. very surprising once I found out who he was later that day.

Well after seeing the dog, Megan, Logan, and myself headed over to Helens pad to chill out in her room. We basically just took a bunch of random pictures and stuff until I had to leave at 3:45. I then said my good bye to Megan. Have fun in the state up north.

I got home at 4:00 where I then got in packing mode. I made myself some Gatorade with the powder mix. That Gatorade was bomb. I had to get my jersey, shoes, and shoes. I left my house around 4:15. Soon after leaving I filled up on some gas from my winnings at poker. I then hit the road where I got lost 2 times. Stopping at 2 gas stations for directions on the process.

Finally arriving at Los Positas college I chatted with Simos about his day off. Then we had to focus for the game.

The first game was pretty good. I started and played pretty well. We played St. Joes which is most known for being the alma mater to Jason Kidd. I think we won by 13 or so which isn't that impressive but we did hold them to 23 points. I was pretty proud of my teams defense.

We had an hour to kill where I spent texting Megan before she got on the plane for Oregon. Then we had to get into focus mode again.

The second game of the day was against San Ramon Valley. They were a very physical team. I don't even think I scored but I did so much else that I don't think it mattered much. Simos was pretty satisfied with my performance and told me that if I keep playing how I play I'll be getting lots of minutes once the regular season rolls around. I was pretty happy to hear that but not all that surprised. Not even trying to by cocky but outside of Nake and I he really has no other options for real post players.

The drive home took around 40 minutes. I listened to the Carter 3 the entire way. That album does have some very good tracks.

As soon as I got home I just ate and took a shower. I finally finished watching Rocky Balboa as well. It is an excellent movie. I've been chatting on aim the last couple hours to random people. Now I am off to bed because I am so fucking tired that I actually dropped the F bomb to describe how tired I am at the moment.

We recently bought a bottle of 18-year old balsamic vinegar from Cherry Creek Winery at their tasting room in Cement City. Our discovery of the tasting room, in an old schoolhouse, was a complete accident. We were down in Adrian for a weekend of soaring but the weather wasn't quite right that day. Since gas was still only in the $3.50/gallon range, we pulled out the Michigan Gazzeteer and went exploring.

We bought two bottles of wine, some Cherry Salsa (spicy!), and this bottle of vinegar.  Its about 2/3rd gone now, since our visit the first weekend of May.
I just received an email this week from the proprietor at Cherry Creek.  Turns out they lost their source for the 18 year old stuff (straight from Italy) and have been out of stock for a few weeks. I guess we got lucky!  And now we can be even luckier- instead of 18-year old vinegar, they have balsamic vinegar that's been aged 25 years!!

We had a small engine problem at the end of the morning session but my mechanics did a remarkable job to fix the car and we were able to continue our free practice programme this afternoon without any problems. We tried several new elements that we ran in the test last week and everything went well and we completed our programme. Looking ahead to qualifying tomorrow, I think that our level of performance is rather encouraging.

Felipe Massa

It was a good day, apart from a slightly tight neck which I began to feel this morning: so as not to take any risks, I chose to avoid doing too many runs of several laps. I therefore concentrated on the car's set-up, working with both types of tyre. On the softer ones, it seems to be a little bit harder to find the right balance, but we must take into account that today, as usual on a Friday, the track is still dirty. Everyone suffered a bit with graining on the front tyres, but tomorrow the situation should improve. We must study all the data we have gathered to prepare as well as possible for qualifying and the race.

Kimi Raikkonen

I am happy with the way things went during these two free practice sessions. We got through all our usual Friday job list, working mainly towards the race. Of course we don't know how much fuel our main rivals were running, but I get the impression we are very competitive. Maybe I did not get the most out of the first lap, but I am happy with the balance of the car. We tried out this new system for a Safety Car period and I think it could be a good solution because it puts everyone in the same situation and that way,you can't be penalized just by unfortunate circumstances.

Lewis Hamilton

We made a great deal of progress this morning and seemed to get the car dialled in nicely to the circuit. This afternoon, I unfortunately had a twitchy moment at the exit of Turn Three and ran wide into the gravel. It cut short my run with no major damage and slightly disturbed our run programme. At the end of the session, we tried out a new Safety Car timing system, which still needs a little more work at the moment. But today has shown we’re looking quick this weekend.

Sebastian Vettel

I am very happy with the work we did today. I had a good pace since the beginning of the morning session and we made changes that seemed to improve the car. Fifth looks very good, but you never know what fuel loads the others were running, but it’s better than being twentieth! The new aero package is a good step forward and should show its value on this track with lots of fast corners and quick changes of direction.

Robert Kubica

This was a quite difficult Friday and we lost some running time in the second practice session due to technical problems. The balance of the car was a bit strange and, therefore, it was quite difficult to drive. We now have to analyse the data and see what we can do for tomorrow.

Heikki Kovalainen

This is a circuit I’ve always enjoyed - the sweeping corners and fast chicanes really suit my style and I quickly felt at home. It’s been a pretty straightforward day: during the afternoon, we worked on the set-up and tyre comparison runs without any problems. I’m happy with the balance of the car in both the slow and fast corners and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

Nick Heidfeld

It is too early to say how we will perform here, but today my free practice was trouble free. We did everything that is on the usual Friday programme, including the tyre comparison and evaluation. At the very end of the second session the car bottomed out heavily at the exit of turn three after I ran over the kerbs. I could feel something come loose and went back to the pits one or two minutes before the flag.

Nelson Piquet Jr

The day has gone well. We have been able to do a lot of running and as a result collected lots of data, which I hope will allow us to continue improving after we have been through it this evening. We still need to make some small changes to improve the behaviour of the car, but overall I am satisfied with this first day. It’s certainly a good start to the weekend.

David Coulthard

There was some initial graining on the tyres early in the session, but it improved as the track rubbered in. It was a pretty normal Friday practice for us, we managed to work through all of our programme and now we’ll look at the data to see what we can do for tomorrow.

Nico Rosberg

We made a lot of progress today which is satisfying. We made quite a few changes to the car over the course of this morning’s session because I had some slight oversteer but, once we’d made those adjustments, things started to improve and we were fairly competitive in the afternoon. Performance-wise, we can be pretty happy with where we are at the moment. Obviously, my race strategy is a lot more important here than normal, so I might have to compromise my pace in tomorrow’s qualifying to account for that.

Jarno Trulli

Today we made it through a lot of work on tyres and set-up and the car felt good in general. It has been hot so the track conditions were changing a lot over the course of the two sessions. We still have to solve some set-up issues in order to find more speed as the car's handling is crucial here. The track surface is very dark and it is quickly affected by the sun so it can suddenly become very slippery. You have to prevent that and figure out what balance you might end up with in the race. But Toyota has generally been competitive here so I hope we can do well this weekend.

Sebastien Bourdais

It’s an enjoyable feeling to be taking part in my first home Grand Prix and to be close to the fans and I have a lot of good memories of this circuit. I got off on the wrong foot this morning, struggling to find the right balance on the car. The new aero package speaks for itself in that I think we are a bit more competitive, but we will have to see what happens in qualifying to see what the real improvement is. Today, I was not on the same programme as Sebastian and when earlier we were on the same set of tyres, the times were quite close between us. Therefore, given the difficult start this morning the day has ended up not so bad.

Kazuki Nakajima

It was a bit of a difficult day for me. We struggled a little with the grip levels but we tried many different set-up options to solve the problem and it finally started to go our way towards the end of the sessions. I think track conditions will be better tomorrow so hopefully qualifying will go ok for us.

Timo Glock

That was a difficult start to the weekend. The tyres are just not working for me at the moment and that makes the car very difficult to drive. I can't get the peak out of the tyres for the first lap so I am not getting the lap time, then I get massive graining and a big drop-off. So we have work to do but I remain hopeful. After our good result in Montreal, we had a positive test last week in Barcelona and collected data in all areas aimed at improving the car both mechanically and aerodynamically. We'll have to see how much progress the other teams have made but we should aim to score points.

Mark Webber

It wasn’t one of our better Fridays, it’s a good thing it wasn’t Saturday today! At least we have a chance to work through everything tonight and understand how we can get more performance from the car. After a very encouraging Barcelona test, it’s suddenly a bit of a mystery here how to get comfortable with the car. But, we’ll work tonight and try to get a better set-up ahead of qualifying tomorrow.

It was a productive day today and we were able to achieve good mileage over the two sessions. We made progress during the course of the day and I felt happier with the car this afternoon. Unfortunately we were still lacking pace, which was a surprise as we were hoping to be challenging the top ten here in France.

Giancarlo Fisichella

We went through the scheduled programme today and made some steps forward, but we are still relatively far away from the others and have some work to do. The grip level was quite poor in both sessions and we had some understeer in the high speed corners. We also compared the tyres and the softer compound works okay, but it will still be a difficult weekend.

It was a busy day as we had a number of items to evaluate on the car to find the best set-up for this track. Although the track conditions improved in the afternoon, we were not able to make as much progress as we hoped over the course of the day. We were expecting the car to perform better around this circuit, however it is evident that we have some work to do to get the balance right. Although we may have been running a different programme to our competitors, I think today reflects that we will be competing in the midfield pack this weekend.

Overall it was such not a great day as we had a few small technical problems today. The main issue was with the brakes and then the tyres overheating. I was struggling under braking, and this morning I lost a lot of the session. In the afternoon the track was slower as the temperature increased and it was difficult to get the tyres to work well again, but now we have found the problem and can get it fixed for tomorrow.

I hopped out of the shower and cleaned my room. Packed my car with whatever I might need for the day. Such as my basketball jersey, shorts, and shoes just in case I hung out with Megan for so long that I may need to go from dropping her off to Andrew Hill.

I got to Megan's house around 11:00 am. We then headed off to Piedmont so she could pick up her high school diploma. I ended up chatting with Ms. Rich from the office for a few minutes about piedmont basketball. She and Dave Pranzini have to be the teams two biggest fans.

After stopping by Piedmont, Megan and I went over to Flames to grab some breakfast since neither of us had eaten yet. I had the thick french toast. It was pretty tasty. But with the consumption of food that I have been eating lately, it was hardly enough to fill me up all the way. I ended up eating some of Megans food since she couldn't finish it all.

Then without having a plan of what to do, we decided to play some video games at Golf Land. I love Golf Land. It was a pretty fun time too. We played all sorts of different games. Such as racing games, shooting games, and we played like the random games where you can win tickets too. At the end we went and turned in our tickets so we could get our prizes. We each got a mood ring + 6 tattoos. They are pretty legit.

Since Ryan Abad lives in the neighborhood, I decided to go over to his place to pick up my beanie that I left at his house a few weeks ago.

After that we went over to Rite Aid and got some ice cream. We both got a single scoop of Cookies and Cream. It was pretty bomb. While we were eating the ice cream I got a call from Helen. She had so unfortunate news that her car had broken down. =/. All bad.

Once we finished our ice cream we headed over to Cataldi to swing on the swings and walk around. There were some random people at the park today. The whole anime kid group was there. I didn't say hi to any of them, NOT because I think they are different but because they were to far away. Rachel Tien sister was swinging next to Megan. While Megan and I were walking around we saw Katherine Pham and Rosalind Tu playing tennis. That honestly may be the only time I see those two the entire summer. Which is kind of sad. But it's the truth.

So after finishing our walk around the park. We headed over to McCarthy Ranch to keep Helen and Richard some company. That was the first time I met Helen's brother. He seems like a pretty chill guy. I have not been to Pets Mart in a very long time. So this was a pretty cool trip. After Pets Mart we went over to Starbucks. I didn't order anything. And I have no idea what the other people ordered either. After chilling there for awhile we all decided to go play Rock Band at Best Buy. On the way over there though Helen got a call from her padre. So we decided to go to the broken down Lexus to attempt to jump it.

Once we arrived at Cisco to jump the car, our first mission was to push the car out of the parking spot. Then we tried jumping it. We actually got the Lexus to work but then it died. After it died Megan and I headed back to her pad so I could drop her off.

After dropping Megan off I headed home for a few minutes. While I was at home I cleaned out all the unnecessary crap out of my car. Then I mixed myself some Orange Gatorade. It was mighty tasty.

The car ride over to Andrew Hill didn't take very long. I was able to watch almost 3/4 of the Andrew Hill vs. EVHS game. Both teams are really young and inexperienced. I only recognized 2 of the guys from Andrew Hills Varsity team last year. Evergreen had a few more familiar faces but not many. All the guys I knew were because I played with them at the YMCA. I don't even think Evergreen has a returning rotation player.

We played Santa Teresa today. I was so tired before the game that I wasn't sure if I would be able to do anything. I ended up getting off though. I was the leading scorer for the team. 10 points. I have not scored double digits in awhile. I don't think anybody was more amazed by my performance but my dad. He was pretty happy that I was doing well on offense. I felt really comfortable taking the ball to the rack. I felt though that a few of my shots were a bit circus like, but I can't really be man. I mean I was 5/6 from the field.

So, I check my phone before Simos gives us our usual post-game talk and I see that I have a missed call + a text message from Megan. She ended up leaving her fish in my car. So after Simos' talk. I checked my car and 1 fish actually survived but the other died. So I put the fish in the bowl and I named him Beast because it is a beast.

Once I got home I saw a some what familiar face over at Chris' house. It was Trevor Cape. I have no seen that guy since freshmen year before he transfered over to Los Altos. It was good catching up with him. I felt bad for the guy though. He said that he had a concussion during football season. But he did inform me that he start muy tie fighting. So I'll have to check out one of his fights.

After that I just chilled at home pretty much. I haven't really dont anything besides chill. Jon Valentine came over and I have not seen him in a very long time so it was mad cool catching up with him a bit. Hopefully I get to chill with him and Grambow over the summer.

Well I am done.

OUTRO

That was the only game we did good in though.

I ended up watching the Element video i bought last summer, This is my Element. It has some dope parts and it got me stocked. I then went out and skated.

My family then went to dinner and watched the end of the first half of game 5. Lakers ended up winning in the end.

Church was pretty fun. I got to hang out with Lisa and Duy before they left for basically the entire summer. It seems like EVERYBODY is leaving for the summer. I get to hang out with Megan tomorrow before she leaves for Oregon. Julie left yesterday. =/ . I still have all the homies on the basketball team and Helen. =]. PLUS Philip, Calvin, and Nila aren't leaving so I get to see them at church every Sunday. =]

Chris just called me with probably the stupidest things that he could ask me for advice. I don't want to go into to much detail. But all I had to say was bro's before hoes.

I'm off to bed though. Adrian wants to work out at 7:00 am tomorrow. -_- that is so freaking early. But thats the only time he can play because he starts his internship tomorrow and he can't work out any later. So lame.

Everyone loves Rocky. Seriously, I've only met one person who hasn't raved about the original (for those keeping score at home, my Global Studies teacher, and thats probably just because she hates Sylvester Stallone with a passion). The first two where great, III and V were alright, and IV just sucked. So when the newest addition was announced, I was just as skeptical as anyone. I just saw it recently on request and I have to say, It didn't disappoint.

Actual Deleted Scene

The synopsis is Rocky Balboa is a longtime retired boxer and remembered by most as one of the greatest boxing champions in the world. He now lives back in the skids of Philadelphia but manages a good life including running his restaurant Adrian's, helping an adult Little Marie and her son Steps, and saying hello at any opportunity to his estranged son Robert. After seeing a virtual fight of Rocky in his prime vs. heavyweight champion Mason "the Line" Dixon, Rocky's interest in fighting sparks again and he plans to fight in local clubs. Mason Dixon and his managers have a different agenda though, with a plan to pit Rocky vs. Mason in real life for a publicity act to regain Mason's lost respect from his fans. Yes, I will go on the record saying that Rocky VI is the best Rocky after the original. It is that good. Now, to be fair, it isn't revolutionary. I wouldn't buy this, but I would rent it (which I did) and probably rent it again. One of the great things about this movie is that even if Rocky II-V hadn't been released, and this was made today, it would still work. It didn't need the support of all the sequels to be a good stand alone film. It is also the most down to earth of all the sequels. No robot here, just a good story.

However, there are a couple of problems. Even for a Rocky movie it is cliche. It's basically and exact rehash of the original Rocky, except he is older. Also, the montage is kind of a letdown. It's nothing memorable, can't even hold a hat to the original. Some of the little flashbacks during the fight seem like they belong in a cheap slasher film rather than Rocky. And the love tension between Rocky and Marie is awkward and doesn't add to the film. They try to tone it down, but we all know it's there.

But there is a lot of good too! The script is surprisingly deep. Stallone has many passionate monolauges throughout the film and they work. And the speech he gives to his son is seriously wonderful. The final fight with Dixon is awesome. Each hit seems to hurt you a bit to. It is shot like an TV boxing match and it really feels like one. All the performances are great. Rocky is still lovable, Paulie is still a jackass, and the others play their parts well. I just want to mention one part in which Rocky walks out to his final fight to the song High Hopes by Frank Sinatra. Thats my favorite part of the movie.

Rocky Balboa is not going to win any awards. But it truly is a good movie. It may be a bit predictable, but if you pick it up and watch it, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised by the effort that went into making this. It's worth a rental, and a buy if your a Rocky-head.
