ESPN NEWS, The Dallas Morning News and the NFL are reporting that Adam "PACMAN" Jones has been reinstated to the NFL by Commissioner Roger Goodell and will be available to play for his new team, the Dallas Cowboys, in their opening game.

Following several run-ins with police and other law enforcement over a variety of incidents, Adam Jones was formally suspended by the League and was told by Goodell that several actions needed to be taken (behaviorally) by the player before he would ever be able to play in the NFL, again.

Adam Jones had this to say about his re-instatement to the NFL and the Dallas Cowboys:

"It feels good man, you know, to get a second chance and I just have to take advantage of it," Jones told The Dallas Morning News.

"First and foremost, I don't want to let myself down, definitely my little girl down. I'm thankful for Jerry [Jones], the fans in Dallas and my teammates for believing in me. I need to keep doing what I've been doing to get reinstated, staying with myself and my teammates and staying away from those knuckleheads and just stay focused."

Clearly, the Dallas Cowboys are the favorites out in the NFC to make it to the Super Bowl and now with the addition of an all-pro corner and return man in PACMAN Jones, the Cowboys will really have no excuses if they don't at least make it to the Super Bowl game in January 2009...

ADAM JONES

Here's your awesome NFL tidbit of the day from Profootballtalk.com via the Dallas Morning News blog:

Suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback/kick returner Adam "Don't-Call-Me-Pacman" Jones was at a Dallas Hooters when he received the phone call from the National Football League that he was being reinstated. Oh well, at least it wasn't a strip club. Naturally, a tv crew from the HBO series Hard Knocks managed to capture the incident on tape.

The troubled Jones was suspended last season by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after being arrested six times and having several other run-ins with the police in the four years he has been in the NFL.

He was chilling at Hooters having lunch when Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News broke the news to him. Calvin's blog post on the news is hilarious.

This is great news for the Cowboys who can plan their 53-man roster knowing they will have #21 to play cornerback.

Give Pacman credit for doing all the things the commish asked him to do. He earned his way back to the league after sitting out the entire 2007 season for violating the league's conduct policy.

Also, give credit to former Cowboys Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin who lobbied for Pacman to come to the Cowboys and worked with him to get his image straight and get involved in the DFW community.

Jones told the Dallas Morning News,

"It feels good man, you know, to get a second chance and I just have to take advantage of it," said Jones.

Jones was asked if he ever thought this day would come.

"I never thought it would take this long, but I'm just glad I'm getting another chance."

Pacman Jones sent in a letter to Commissioner Roger Goodell's office today asking to be allowed to play the 2008 season. Roger Goodell gave Pacman temporary approval to join the Dallas Cowboys soon after he was traded by the Tennessee Titans. It is expected that Pacman will be reinstated right before the regular season begins. Being a Dallas Cowboy's fan you would think that I would be excited by this but that's far from the truth.

Since being drafted in April of 05 by the Tennessee Titans this guy has done nothing but get into trouble. 9 incidents involving this guy since he has been drafted, and these aren't just parking tickets, I'm talking felonies here people. Have a look for your self. ESPN has recorded 9 incidents involving Pacman Jones since being drafted in 05.

July 13, 2005: Two weeks before training camp is scheduled to begin, Jones is arrested by Nashville police at Titans headquarters. He is charged with assault and felony vandalism stemming from a nightclub altercation.

Sept. 5, 2005: Six days before the season opener at Pittsburgh, Jones attends the annual Nashville Sports Council Kickoff Luncheon. Later, Jones has a loud, verbal tantrum when told he must wait in line for his vehicle, according to witnesses. He does not pay for valet service.

Oct. 25, 2005: Five days before the eighth game of the season, it is alleged by the state of West Virginia that Jones has violated the terms of his probation, going back to a suspended sentence after a barroom brawl during his freshman year at college. A judge extends his probation 90 days.

Feb. 6, 2006: Jones is arrested in Fayetteville, Ga., and charged with possession of marijuana. He is handcuffed after throwing a punch at an officer, according to police, and charged with a felony count of obstruction and two misdemeanors of obstructing police. The drug charge is dismissed in January 2007, although his mother Deborah and a friend, Marcus Bowens, are convicted of possession of marijuana. Jones will appear in court later this month to face the obstruction charges.

March 23, 2006: A Fayette County drug task force SWAT team serves a search warrant at the Georgia home Jones bought for his mother. When Jones steps out of his Corvette, a drug investigator notices that the car reeks of marijuana. Jones admits to police he has been smoking and that it will be several weeks before he is able to pass a drug test.

April 18, 2006: According to Nashville police, who cite surveillance camera footage, Jones is one of 12 people gathered at a gas station when a fight breaks out and gunshots are fired.

Aug. 25, 2006: Jones is arrested in Murfreesboro, Tenn., for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. At the Sweetwater Saloon, he is accused of assault by Toya Garth, who says Jones spit in her face and she spit back. A judge sentences Jones six months probation provided he stays out of further trouble.

Oct. 26, 2006: Jones is cited for misdemeanor assault at Club Mystic, a Nashville nightclub, where he allegedly spits in the face of a female college student. He is suspended for one game by the Titans, on Nov. 5 at Jacksonville.

Feb. 19, 2007: Jones is present when an early morning brawl breaks out at Minxx Gentlemen's Club in Las Vegas. Three people are shot. Club co-owner Robert Susnar claims the shooter -- still at large -- acted on Jones' behalf. Jones denies this. No charges have been brought against Jones.

So when Roger Goodell sits down at his fancy desk in New York and opens up Mr.Pacman's file, where in that file has he shown to be a good citizen. He is proved to be violent and disobedient through out his life. There is a man in Las Vegas who is paralyzed now supposedly because of Pacman Jones. Bribery allegation are among a lot of things this guy has done. Not to mention while he was suspended he showed what a good citizen he is by going to another strip club, but this time it was just to get some food, because strip clubs are known for having good food, and he decided to join pro wrestling against NFL advice. So forgive me for being kind of hostile to this guy. I believe he has had many of many chances to show improvement and show he can be a good human being and he has failed to do so. So if it were up to me, I would have made it 3 years suspended, or until the guy he paralyzed gets out of his wheel chair.

A late comback by the Texans could not defeat Dallas as Dallas wins 23-22.

Sage Rosenfels tried to make a fourth quarter comeback, but failed. He scored a late touchdown by running eight yards for the score, but did not complete the two-point conversion and lost.

Rosenfels did not start however, Matt Schaub did. Schaub threw for 166 yards and a touchdown to Ken Walter. Rosenfels was 4 for 8 with 66 yards.

Walter had 6 receptions including the touchdown.

Dallas got a good game from Tony Romo and Brad Johnson. Romo threw for 166 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Johnson was 9 for 13 with 107 yards. Romo's TD pass was to Patrick Crayton. Also scoring was Marion Barber. He rushed for 75 yards on 13 carries.

Adam Jones did play and gained one tackle.

Washington Redskins

There are a few things wrong with the Redskins. The first is that Jason Campbell is still a giant question mark.

Campbell has played in 20 NFL games. Through 20 games he has thrown for nearly 4,000 yards, 22 TDs and 17 INTs. His QB rating is 77.3.

None of that seems all that remarkable.

I will give him the benefit of the doubt seeing as he isn't exactly surrounded by amazing targets. But the way I see it, he has about 4 weeks to prove that he maturing and becoming a better quarterback. Or else.

Behind Campbell is 73 year old Todd Collins and newcomer Colt Brennan (that picture of him on ESPN the magazine just made me want to punch him in the face).

Before even getting into the rest of the Skins offense, let's just take a look at those crucial first four games:

1. @ Giants

2. Saints

3. Cardinals

4. @ Dallas

The way I see it, the Skins will be lucky to come out of those 4 games at 2-2. If Jason Campbell is less than remarkable through those games, he'll be on the bench (for a couple of weeks).

In the backfield they have Clinton Portis who was sort of back in form last season and Ladell Betts who seems to be a decent second option (he had a shit load of yards in 2006 when Portis was hurt).

The receivers in Washington still don't scare me. Or anyone.

Santana Moss seemed invisible last season. So did Antwaan Randle El. The 1400 yards receiving, 112 catches and 4 TDs they put up combined would have been great if they counted as the same player on my fantasy team last year. Instead it was Russian Roulette playing either of them.

Of course the Skins still have Chris Cooley who is a solid receiving TE and gets all the TDs these days. Plus they drafted Malcolm Kelly (6'4" 219) and Devin Thomas (6'2" 218) who are supposed to end up being options 3 and 4 on the depth chart. I hope for the sake of Redskins fans those guys can catch a poorly thrown pass.

The Redskins Defense still seems to be middle of the pack. Nothing seems horribly wrong here, but there is also little to shit your pants in celebration over.

If Jason Campbell does the 1-3 with 4 TDs and 9 INTs thing and gets benched, the Redskins are lucky to finish 7-9.

If Campbell grabs the league by the sack and turns into a monster, they finish 9-7 or 10-6.

If Todd Collins turns into the starter for the whole season, they finish 8-8.

If Colt Brennan becomes the starter midway through the year and plays better than he should be able to as a rookie, they can finish 9-7 or 10-6.

My definitive prediction is a 6-10 record for the Redskins in 2008.

Philidelphia Eagles

As you'll recall, I like Donovan McNabb.

If he plays 16 games this season, the Eagles could be a force.

If McNabb reclaims the glory of his early years, with additions to the defense, the Eagles could finish as high as 14-2.

They really have an EASY schedule.

If McNabb is in 2002 form, they should probably split with the Cowboys, maybe split with the Giants and maybe lose to the Browns or Steelers. That's about it.

Worst case scenario, if McNabb is healthy, the Eagles should finish 10-6 no problem.

They have one of the best and most versatile running backs in the NFL in Brian Westbrook. They have Correll Buckhalter who could be a banger to change things up (I have been assured by Palmtross and other Philly fans that Buckhalter is far better than his stats prove).

True, the wide receivers still don't look great. But last year Kevin Curtis looked like Jerry Rice one week (maybe McNabb can elevate him all year if healthy), Reggie Brown should be all right and LJ Smith is a consistently good receiver.

Plus they have Jason Avant and Hank Baskett, both of whom are young and have been decent 3 and 4 guys.

The Eagles defense is young and fast at linebacker. This is one position it definitely pays to be young and fast at.

The starters on the Eagles defensive line are 50/50 from what I can tell. Mike Patterson had a solid season last year. He's only 25 and if he continues to grow at DT he should be a treat to watch. Trent Cole who plays Defensive End is a guy who seems to contribute a lot to the defense. He is also only 25.

Of course they added (and severely overpaid for) Asante Samuel to the Defensive Backs where if they have a healthy Brian Dawkins and Sheldon Brown, they can cause some serious trouble.

The only thing is, the fate of this Eagles team is on McNabb. When he was great, he carried them. When he is hurt, they are unpredictable and bizarre.

McNabb NEEDS TO STAY HEALTHY AND BE GREAT or the Eagles will be mediocre due to a lackluster offense (unless you have a great QB, Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown, Jason Avant and Hank Baskett might be the worst 4 starting WRs in the NFL...Kevin Curtis is a born #2, Reggie Brown has never carried a big load in his career and is still a little wet behind the ears, Avant and Baskett are unproven in spite of being the right size.)

This season is on McNabb.

My definitive prediction is a 10-6 record for the Eagles in 2008.

New York Giants

Even posting that picture makes my insides churn.

The Giants (like the Patriots) are a very similar team to their 2007 squad. The key difference between the two, in my eyes, is that while the Patriots have tried to upgrade or at the very least added depth and youth to their defense, the Giants have lost Michael Strahan and Jeremy Shockey (granted they didn't need his injury prone ass to win a Superbowl) and not made any significant additions.

What I think MIGHT happen to them, is that they might be like the Ravens were after they won a Superbowl. They might be too happy to have won. Maybe they'll be a little tired. Maybe they'll be sluggish. Maybe they won't have the same drive.

Plus they WILL have more people (especially those New York fans) expecting more from them. Maybe that will be tough.

And I'm just gonna say it, Eli Manning is not nearly as good as Donovan McNabb when McNabb is healthy. If McNabb stays healthy all season and the Cowboys stay healthy, I really do think they Giants will finish 3rd in a much much tougher AFC East.

The Giants have a series of decent running backs behind a solid offensive line. But their receiving options? Plaxico Burress is always hurt. He's great when he plays. He's easily the second best receiver in the NFC East. But he gets hurt a lot. Then you have Amani Toomer who is on the wrong side of 30 and then Helmet catch guy David Tyree who has clearly ALREADY made the best catch of his career. There is no way in hell that guy can ever outdo that catch.

The defense is similarly strong, but maybe a little less so.

Their success will be dictated by how focused they are. It will also be based upon how good the Eagles and Redskins are. Let's assume that both the Eagles and Redskins win 1 game agains the Giants. We'll also assume the Cowboys win 1 against them. That is 3 losses. Not far-fetched at all. They have to play Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Minnesota on the road. Those are 3 games they could easily lose. That brings them down to 10-6. Throw in the fact that the teams they are playing that can beat them at home seem to be the Cowboys, Eagles and Seahawks....that would take them to 7-9. But I doubt they lose 9 games. The defense is too good.

My definitive prediction is a 9-7 record for the Giants in 2008.

Dallas Cowboys

I know that a lot of people expected the Cowboys to win the Superbowl last season.

The Cowboys expected to win it.

They played like chumps when it mattered.

I hate the Cowboys. I always will.

And you know what? They are WEAKER offensively in 2008 than they were in 2007.

WRs, T.O. and Patrick Crayton. Jason Witten at TE. Crayton is a piece of garbage.

RBs, Marion Barber. Yeah, I like the way he runs when he is the running back, but before this year, he has never been a workhorse. Can he withstand starting for 16 games?

I even hate talking about them. I wish them all the worst.

But my definitive prediction is an 11-5 record for the Cowboys in 2008.

Last season the AFC and NFC East were both represented in the Super Bowl. The NFC East is one of the deepest divisions in football. Mike profiled a race that should be a dog fight. In the AFC East, the Patriots may be the class of the division, but storylines from Brett Favre to Chad Pennington abound. John covers some early first impressions about that division before the season starts up.

NFC EAST:

Dallas Cowboys

2007 record: 13-3
Notes: Despite being the most talented team in the NFC last year, the Cowboys season ended prematurely as they fell victim to the quirky championship run of the New York Giants. There is a reason Dallas only lost four games last year. This team has boatloads of talent. The only personnel loss they "suffered" was the departure of running back Julius Jones, but his spot alongside Marion Barber was quickly filled by the drafting of the speedy Felix Jones out of Arkansas. The offense still lacks a solid number two receiver. On the defensive side of the ball, there is little to worry about. A good defense last year, almost the entire unit returns and (pending action from the commissioner's office) will be bolstered by the addition of Adam Jones. Acquired on the cheap due to his extracurricular troubles in Tennessee, he has the ability to be not only an elite cover corner, but return man as well. This should spell an even better Cowboys team, but don't look for the easy ride they had last year. The rest of the division has gotten better and the road should be a bit tougher this year.
Predicted record: 12-4

Breakout player: Adam Jones

Washington Redskins

2007 record: 9-7

Notes: I live in the greater Washington, D.C. metro area so Dan Snyder's complete control media machine may have brainwashed me with 75 different "Jim Zorn makes Jason Campbell better," stories in papers and websites, but I watched Campbell a fair amount last year, and I am drinking the Kool-Aid. With two able running backs, a star wide receiver, a solid tight end and a stable of decent, but underperforming, second options, this team should be much better on offense than they have been. Campbell has to be the one who takes them there. On defense this team has been much more solid than they seemed over the past few years, getting good run defense and effective coverage, but consistently failing to deliver the knock out punch and bring a pass rush. The addition of one of the world's best pass rushers, Jason Taylor, should fix that problem, energize this defense, and make everyone else more effective. There are still holes and they face a tough season, but this should be a playoff team.

Predicted record: 10-6

Breakout player: Jason Campbell

New York Giants

2007 record: 10-6

Notes: Despite being the defending champs, the Giants are in the category of teams that regressed over the off season. They lost Michael Strahan (retirement) and Kawika Mitchell (signed with the Buffalo Bills) in addition to suffering a protracted Plaxico Burress hold out, hurting the team on both sides of the ball. The pass rush will still be exceptional, if not as deep. If it can be contained, the Giants did little to upgrade their poor secondary and failed to acquire either a blocker or runner to add oomph to the running game. If Eli Manning has a poor season, or the pass rush can be contained, this team could miss the playoffs.

Predicted record: 9-7

Breakout player: Matthias Kiwanuka

Philadelphia Eagles

2007 record: 8-8

Notes: After a frustrating 2007 campaign filled with injuries and fan unrest, the Eagles made curious moves and fell into a group of teams that failed to improve. Apparently believing that pass coverage was its problem, Philadelphia signed Asante Samuel to a huge contract. The Eagles' defense is not perfect, but it was a capable secondary. This team lacks a go-to wide receiver, a strong linebacking corps and possibly a short yardage back. an injury to Donovan McNabb or Brian Westbrook could scuttle the season into Top 10 pick range. With those two healthy, and Andy Reid at the helm, a long shot playoff run is not out of the question.

Predicted record: 7-9

Breakout Player: Omar Gaither

AFC EAST:

New England Patriots
2007 record: 16-0
Notes: New England's perfect season was destroyed by the New York Giants' pass rush in the Super Bowl. This season appears to be starting with questions running the gamut from the health of Tom Brady's foot to cornerback play. Brady will be fine. The cornerbacks will benefit from an outstanding pass rush and great play from New England’s most unsung group, the safeties. This much is clear, the Patriots are still the class of the AFC East and will dominate in division play.
Predicted record: 14-2
Breakout player: James Sanders, FS

Buffalo Bills
2007 record: 7-9
Notes: The Bills elevated Turk Schonert from Quarterbacks Coach to Offensive Coordinator. How he works with quarterback Trent Edwards will be the key to Buffalo's season. Edwards had bright moments during his rookie season, but finished with a 70.4 quarterback rating. The Bills need Edwards to throw the ball downfield so that Marshawn Lynch can find room to run. Buffalo also needs left tackle Jason Peters to finish his holdout because the offensive line is currently in shambles. The Bills defense should be improved from the unit that finished near the bottom of the league in 2007. Veterans Marcus Stroud and Kawika Mitchell were brought in to solidify the defense at defensive tackle and linebacker respectively.
Predicted record: 9-7
Breakout player: Chris Ellis, DE

New York Jets
2007 record: 4-12
Notes: The Jets got about one or two games better when Brett Favre joined the team. If that difference, along with the additions of a number of veteran players, is enough to carry New York into the playoffs is another question entirely. Eric Mangini is slowly bringing in players that fit his 3-4 style of defense. Kris Jenkins will be required to play nose tackle. The linebackers are still a huge question mark. Strong safety Kerry Rhodes has outstanding numbers each season because he is required to plug gaping holes in the Jets’ defense. The offense should be competitive with Favre, running back Thomas Jones and free agent guard Alan Faneca. Can the defense stop anyone?
Predicted record: 8-8
Breakout player: Dustin Keller, TE

Miami Dolphins
2007 record: 1-15
Notes: The practices of the Miami Dolphin this season probably remind players of the land of misfit toys. The team is a collection of poor draft choices, bargain free agent castoffs and players hoping to reclaim their former glory. Perhaps no player better exemplifies the team than ex-Jet quarterback Chad Pennington. Displaced after Brett Favre arrived in New York, Pennington appears to have found a home in Miami with former coach Bill Parcells. Ricky Williams will attempt to prove he can still run, while Vonnie Holliday and Jason Ferguson hope to fill some of the gaping holes that were apparent in the Dolphin defense last season. Ted Ginn is facing a make-or-break season at wide receiver. Too bad he’s got a quarterback with a glass arm throwing him the ball. It is going to be a long season in Miami.
Predicted record: 4-12
Breakout player: Matt Roth, DE

Bengals owner Mike Brown decided that Chris henry really never got a fair shake in Cincinnati.

I mean, what has Chris Henry really ever done wrong?

Oh yeah, those DUIs, the possession of weed charge, gun concealment and illegal possession charges (WHILE WEARING HIS BENGALS JERSEY!!), a suspected sex crime (he got off the hook on this), providing alcohol to minors (I believe he was taking some 17 year old to her senior prom on this one...), alleged assault on a 16 year old boy (got off the hook), punching an 18 year old and throwing a beer bottle through his car window because he owed him money (trial pending).

A judge once called him a "one man crime wave" and I would say that seems fairly accurate.

Henry is suspended the first 4 games of this season. I sincerely hope Roger Goodell suspends him permanently if he gets arrested again.

Henry says he plans to clean up his act.

These are certainly strange days when I actually believe that Adam (Pacman) Jones is more intent on cleaning up his act that Chris Henry.

Unfortunately for Henry I feel like that seems to be the case.

This whole story speaks volumes to how the Bengals organization is run.

Carson Palmer will probably get the hell out of there as soon as possible. That is a franchise that looked like it would turn a corner. Clearly once Palmer was hurt, that never happened.

I've heard stories from people about how dysfunctional that organization is. Supposedly nobody gets along. Coach Marvin Lewis is a complete joke and it also seems clear that even if Marvin Lewis was trying to put his foot down about Henry, the ownership is too stupid to accept it.

Horrible situation.

Do any Bengals fans really think that Chris Henry is the missing link there?

Is Chris Henry going to make their defense better?

This is why the Bengals will end up 6-10 or 7-9 in 2008. Bad ownership, bad management, bad coaching, no chemistry.

George Sherrill is hurting and had an MRI today. Thanks Terry Francota

Chris Ray is pitching in the minors and its possible he makes a cameo in Baltimore this season.

Matt Albers is trying to avoid the surgery Troy Patton had. He's throwing pitching off the mound and will do a little batting practice later in the week.

I didn't know Greg Acquino was hurt, but he is. He's back in the minors rehabbing. I'm hoping that's where he'll stay.

Hamball Pitcher Danys Baez is looking to be a full go for next season's spring training. hurrah hooray!

Most Importantly, Adam Jones is rehabbing and will do some batting practice at week's end. There'll be no more CT scans, so I suppose that's a good thing.

(Getty Images)

The maturation of Adam "Don't Call Me Pacman" Jones continued as the reformed defensive back sent a letter asking for full reinstatement to the NFL

(Philadelphia, Pa) -- According to a story by Calvin Watkins in the The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Cowboys DB Adam "Don't Call Me Pacman" Jones has sent a 1 1/2-page letter to commissioner Roger Goodell asking to be fully reinstated. We all know about Jones' laundry list of off the field issues that have caused him to be suspended since the spring of 2007, so we will not re-hash them. But there seems to be a legitimate opportunity for the troubled and equally talented Jones (currently has to play in a regular season game for the first time since December 2006.

Goodell has already given a partial reinstatement (training camp and preseason games) with the pledge to review Jones' case again before the 2008 season. To the credit of Jones and the Cowboys organization namely Calvin Hill (Dallas Cowboys Player Development Coordinator A.K.A their Father Flanagan), the chances of the player formerly known as "Pacman" getting on the field look good.

Jones' letter is the latest step in showing everyone that he has indeed changed and if his current standing in Dallas is an indication (No incidents on or off the field, staying away from the clubs, working with Hill, security staff of four men he is personally working with, and being mentored by reformed former Cowboys heroes Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin). Jones said to Watkins of the whole situation, "I'm feeling real good, It's just a letter on why I feel I should be reinstated. It's my chance to respond, and we'll see how it goes. "The Cowboys are hoping that the NFL will make a decision before Aug. 26, the day the rosters need to be trimmed to 75 players.

My feeling is that Jones will get is much-awaited last chance to make it in the NFL. Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones in trading for the troubled former 2005 first round draft pick, put himself out on a limb and right now you would have to say Adam Jones has delivered. I believe in letting people learn from their mistakes and getting on last chance, so hopefully Jones has learned playing in the NFL is a privilege.

The O's purchased the contract of Lou Montanez to fill Jones' spot and to make room for him, Adam Loewen gets transferred to the 60 day DL.

It'll be interesting to watch Montanez and see if any of the power that he's displayed in Bowie translates to the minors. With Loewen being transferred to the 60, his season is done and it looks like his transition to the outfield begins in the offseason. I hope Jones is only on the DL for 15 days, its a fractured foot so it might take a few more days than just 15.

According to the other "World Wide Leader in Sports" the Sun newspaper, Jessica Simpson has been giving Tony Homo Romo a strip show via a web-cam. She is doing it to keep the romance alive. But I think this is a way for the Cowboys to keep Pacman out of the strip clubs.Somehow T.O. is involved with this but I haven't made that connection...yet.

The Shocking part: Jessica Simpson knows how to work a web cam.

A pal said: "Jess has no problem showing Tony her favourite ‘PUSSYCAT DOLLS' routine. She will dance in front of her camera until she makes her man happy."

Jessica makes sure her web cam shows are for Tony's eyes only according to the paper.

The pal added: "Jess does get paranoid, making sure Tony doesn't have any of his Cowboys buddies peeking in on the show."

This can only end with videos winding up on the internet then again Peter King does the same thing for Brett Fa***.

Roch has_two_rather_significant_items_of_note.

First, I heard this just a second ago during the game as well. Mark Viviano, the Amber sub, reported that he heard from a stadium worker (I would have said 'inside source' it sounds better. It sounds like he heard it from one of the beer vendors) that Chris Waters is in Anahiem and at the team hotel. This meaning that he will get the start tomorrow.

Secondly, there's no news about Adam Jones CT scan yet but apparently a stint on the DL is resulting from it. It stinks that Jones has to go on the DL, but there's no point in making him play center on a bum ankle. Lou Montanez has been pulled from Bowie's game tonight and apparently heading to Anahiem.

It's an interesting call up. A case could be made for Nolan Reimold, but you can't argue with Montanez's numbers. Reimold is a pure prospect and some more time in the minors won't kill him. With Montanez, he's a guy who's been in the minors for his entire career. A call up might help MacPhail and company see if this season is merely lightning in a bottle for him or if he's found his game a little later in his career. It'll be interesting to see. I like the call up. Reimold will get his day soon enough.

Roch says that the move will involve Brandon Fahey being sent down. No need for Fahey, Castro, and Cintron. As much of a scowl that I gave the Castro pickup, he's done decent. He is what he is at this point.

This is not_good_news. I know that the ankle has been sore, but I didn't know it was this bad. Hopefully, its nothing a few days off can cure. It'd be a shame for Jones to have to go on disabled list with the way he's been playing lately.

Luke Scott's ankle is balky too. He was struggling getting to balls in left today. With Jones out, there really wasn't anyone on the bench to relieve Scott...with the possible exception of Brandon Fahey. With two outfielders with bad ankles at the moment, I'm sure at least one with have to go on the DL. Maybe the red hot Luis Montanez will get a call up.

The O's have been rather lucky this season injurywise. With the exception of the Matt Albers and Adam Loewen, there haven't been many O's hitting the DL. Hopefully I didn't speak too soon.

Since the start of training camp, the one thing that has jumped out at me about Adam “I’

Since the start of training camp, the one thing that has jumped out at me about Adam "I'm Still Pacman" Jones is his competitive nature. Yes, I know he's a pro-athlete and all pro-athletes are competitive, but he has another side to him when he's locked in. A will to be the best on the field, and a little bit of a temper when he's not.

Saturday, Jones dropped a sure interception with his momentum carrying him to the sideline of media members and photographers. Which by the way, C.J. did a great job of protecting NBC5's camera first, himself second. Anyway, after dropping the pick, we got a great R-rated word out of Pac's mouth, then as he walked back he told the ball boy to toss him a football. When the ball boy did, Pac slapped it a couple of times, then threw it into the crowd. Picture a pro-golfer getting ticked at his putter or a ball that just lipped out for a par-save and getting chucked into the drink.

So the ball boy asks for the souvenir back and gets booed. That's when Jerry Jones came to the rescue. It was great. Jerry came over with two balls. Giving one to the guy who relinquished his, and tossing the other to the crowd causing an absolute cluster. It was the classic: forgive my people for being dumb, while I look like the hero. Great stuff.

Funniest thing I overheard at practice Saturday:

A little girl asked her dad during the scrimmage, "Daddy, which team is the Cowboys?"

I wanted to do a season thus recap as the O's stand close to the 2/3rd mark of the season. The simplest way to do it is the old position, grade, and remarks. I've done that before and its just going through the motions. Do I really need to give players letter grades like my 2nd grade teacher? For this post I will. I'm going to break it down and review a few players a pop.

Today let's look at Ramon Hernandez and Adam Jones in the old Second Grade style.

"Ramon Hernandez, you have not been playing up to your potential this season. I know you are capable of doing better work. Your batting average is a meak .253. The 12 HR and 43 are actually an improvement over last season. Where my concern is, and I've called your parents to set up a parent teacher conference over this matter, your defense. Baserunners are running all over you. They're actually bullying you. Of 70 attempts, you've only caught 19. Your errors currently sit at 8 and your fielding percentage is at .985. I'm worried, you're on the verge of failing this season and I'm writing that on your body for work for this season with this red felt tip pen."

"Adam Jones, you've been improving as the season progresses. The start of the season was especially rough but you've gotten better both offensively and defensively. Your fielding percentage is at .993 and you have only 2 errors. Some of the plays that you've made in the outfield have been spectacular. Your offense has been a work in progress. 7 homers and 48 RBI is good work for your first full year in the majors. I am concerned somewhat about the 19 BB to 89 K ratio. Maybe you should spend a little time with Terry Crowley before the game (and if you already are, then stop). I'm very impressed with your work so far, I feel its worth a B. I'm giving you a gold star and a couple for a free personal pizza at your local pizzeria. Keep up the good work."

Here's some quick adds for an August fantasy baseball playoff push...

1) Adam Jones, Baltimore - Can you say five tool stud? Jones is what fantasy dreams are made of and has a .314 batting average since May, hitting his first career grand slam in the sixth inning on Monday against the Yankees. Jones was the key player in the trade that sent Bedard to the Mariners and is starting to pay dividends for the O's. Grab him now.

2) Ian Stewart, Colorado - The 2003 first round pick of the Colorado Rockies (10th overall) is finally getting regular playing time. Better yet, due to a myriad of injuries in the Colorado infield, Stewart now qualifies at second base. Stewart has good power and balls fly out of Coors field in August!

3) Jeff Baker, Colorado - As I said with Stewart...balls fly out of Coors field in August. Jeff Baker has been a hit machine since the all-star break batting nearly .500 with three home runs. He qualifies at first and second base.

4) Paul Maholm, Pittsburgh - If you need wins you may want to look elsewhere but Maholm is on an impressive 11 start streak in which he has compiled a 2.76 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 51 Ks in his last 78.1 innings. He's 5-1 in that span, but again...don't look for too many wins pitching for the Pirates.

The troubled cornerback (most recently in the news for incidents at a Las Vegas strip club which resulted in the death of a club bouncer and serious injury of another) is now in the news for potential philanthropic reasons. What caught the Tunishi's interest in the story is Jones' uncanny ability to make it rain on command. "We believe this Pac Man should bring his make rain skills to our village and put end to our curse of no rain" said tribe leader Ungawi Mooshoo. "Our children are starving for we have no fertile land to farm, If Pac Man can make it rain he should do so here", he concluded.

The Tunishi are offering a onetime deal for Jones’ rain making services that includes a newly printed 1 trillion dollar bill ($1.20 US), a virgin, and a can of olives if he can successfully bring rain to the region. Jones’ agent Michael Huyghue told the Sporting News that they were a long way from finalizing a deal with the Tunishi and that everything to this point was all speculation. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell appeared reluctant to endorse the goodwill trip given Jones' problems in the past. "I really don’t think it's a good idea to turn Adam loose down there..god knows what he could get into" Goodell said, " It's one thing to volunteer your time at a Boys club, but having the fate of an entire tribe of people in your hands is a whole other issue", he added.

I was just reading this article about Terrell Owens and Adam “Pacman” Jones at the Dalla

I was just reading this article about Terrell Owens and Adam "Pacman" Jones at the Dallas Cowboys training camp.

Both of these two football personalities have had their share of off-the-field incidents and infamy. Both are apparently huge egos.

[caption id="attachment_318" align="alignnone" width="345" caption="T.O. scores a TD"][/caption]

You would think that when the receiver and the cornerback line up against each other in practice, that their egos would collide. But it sounds like they are teammates taking advantage of the opportunity to learn from each other.

Jones - "I think I'm the best. He thinks he's the best, so that will make us better. I know on Sunday my job will be a whole lot easier. It helps me a lot. T.O. is a world-class athlete. ... I'm enjoying myself and I'm getting better every day."

This is what teammates do. Maybe it's a bit of NFL commentary that I was surpised by teammates acting like teammates...

Even though Pac Man Jones sorry Rain Man Jones hasn't been reinstated by Roger Goodell, he can still save you MO MONEY, MO MONEY, MO MONEY!!!

That's right even though he hasn't been cleared to play or practice for that matter, Adam Jones is pimping rides for "Drivers Select". And look who's with him. Why it's "Prime Time" Deion Sanders!

Clearly Drivers Select wasn't working with a big budget for this. I love how Adam Jones formally known as Pac Man doesn't try to pretend that he isn't reading from a cue card. And what a snazzy Drivers Select jersey you have there Pac.. I mean Adam.

Look for Jones to land more endorsement deals if he is reinstated for such fine establishments like "Mee Maws Truck Driving & Law School" & "Mrs. Wong's Happy Ending Massage Parlors".

During the offseason of 2006 the Patriots loaded their receivers including slot receiver Wes Welke

During the offseason of 2006 the Patriots loaded their receivers including slot receiver Wes Welker, and long ball receivers Donté Stallworth, and Randy Moss. Before the Patriots traded one of their draft picks for Randy Moss, he was known as a player that didn't do the right thing like Terrell Owens. But after his first season with the Patriots, Adam "Pacman" Jones was the one causing trouble.

So I do question whether he will go down as a trouble maker in Patriots history. We have enough of them. Rodney Harrison was just voted NFL's dirtiest player! 11 of 17 coaches said so. The Patriots may be hated by almost every living being on the planet. But we do not want to seem that way.

Rashelle Washington accused Randy Moss for sexually harassing her when Moss was a Patriot. At the end the court found out that Rashelle Washington was partially crazy. Even though it did not happen it still gives him a bad rep.

This is like Corey Dillon being traded to the Patriots from the Bengals. Corey Dillon rushed for 541 yards in 2003 until he was injured. Then the Bengals needed a replacement so they started Rudi Johnson. Corey Dillon was upset with his contract so the Bengals were going to trade Corey Diilon for the Raider's second round draft pick. The Raiders rejected the Bengals offer because they needed a young star. With the Patriots sitting out quietly they then jumped in and were able to pick up Corey Dillon. Dillion earned a bad reputation and it hurt the Patriots rep until he left.

Randy Moss will affect the Patriots Dynasty, but only in positive ways. Since he joined the Patriots the team has gone 18-1 and he broke the record for most receiving touchdowns. He will go down as a clean player because he cleaned up his act and is just a better person overall.
