ก็เริ่มจากวันแรกเรย เล่นๆอยู่ดีๆ คอมก็ดับ จอดำวูบหายไปเรย ก็เฉยๆ เพราะเป็นบ่อย restart เครื่องคงหาย
restart ไม่ขึ้น ... ก็ไม่เป็นไร ชิลๆ รอสักพักค่อยเปิดก็ได้ เด๋วก็เปิดได้ ไปแดกข้าว กลับมาเปิด ฟุบ มีไฟขึ้นในเครื่อง พร้อมควัน เนื่องจากเปิด case ไว้ เลยคาดว่าน่าจะมาจาก HDD ไม่ก็ FDD ไม่ก็เมนบอร์ด

ท่าทางจะเปิดไม่ขึ้นอีกแล้วตลอดกาล.....

ดีใจ 555+ เจ๊งซะที แล้ววันต่อมาแม่ไปต่างจังหวัด 3-4 วัน เรยยังไม่ได้คอมใหม่
แล้วแม่กลับมา ก็นึกว่าซักพักค่อยลากไปซื้อก็ได้ ผ่านไป 2-3 วัน ก็ไปต่างจังหวัดอีกประมาณ 1 อาทิตย์

โลกของเชฟก็จบลง...

ตอนที่เครื่องเจ๊งนั้น กังฟูแพนด้าเพิ่งเข้าใหม่ๆ ที่จำได้เพราะว่าสปอยไว้ในชื่อ msn แล้วมันติดอยู่ เมื่อวานก็เลยตระหนักได้จากการเล่นเครื่องแมคที่ทำงาน มันยังไม่เปลี่ยนให้ซะที เหอๆๆ

การสปอยชื่อในเอ็มของผมนั้น เป็นการไม่เลือกปฏิบัติต่อบุคคลใดบุคลลหนึ่ง เป็นการสรุปเรื่องหนังให้ฟังในตอนท้าย เพื่อให้เกิดความไม่เข้าใจในเนื้อหา เนื่องจากบางคนก็ไปเข้าห้องน้ำ อาจพลาดตอนสำคัญไปได้ ถ้าไม่สปอยแล้วคนเหล่านั้นที่เป็นเพื่อนผมคงต้องลำบากแน่ๆ

วันศุกร์ 20 วันนี้ไปรับน้องกลุ่มที่คณะกัน กลุ่มกล่องเปล่า... ไปรับที่สระบุรี แม่งออกกันตอนเช้า พวกแก่ๆก็ทำงานกันแล้ว เลยไม่ได้ไปเรย ก็เลยต้องตามไปตอนเย็นแทน เอ๊กขับรถไป นัดเจอพารากอน 5 โมง ไปซื้อ red กัน ขวดนึง แล้วก็เจอเพื่อนเอ๊กที่มาจาก berkeley นิสัยดีคนนึง ก็ไม่มีไร แล้วก็ออกจากพารากอนประมาณ 5.30 นั่งรถไปขึ้นทางด่วนตรงเพลินจิต รถติดสัตว์หมา ติดมาก ไม่ไหวแล้ว แล้วมีอยู่แยกนึงก่อนขึ้นทางด่วน กูก็ไม่ค่อยเชี่ยวทางแถวนี้ บอกมันว่าตรงไปไม่ได้ แต่มันบอกว่าตรงได้ชัวร์ถ้าขึ้นทางด่วน ไปได้อยู่แล้ว ตอนผ่านกูก็เห็นป้ายห้ามตรงไปเวลา xx.xx-xx.xx แล้วแม่งก็ตรงไป โดนจับเรย 5555+ เสียค่าไม่ต้องอ้อมไป 400 มั้ง แล้วก็ตรงไปขึ้นทางด่วน ประมาณ 6.15 มั้ง ติดมากก
นั่งรถไป ห่าแม่งรถเสีย รถชนตลอดทาง แล้วก็มีแผนที่ให้ดู แม่งเขียนแบบเลี้ยวขวาตรงโลตัส เหี้ยเอ๊กแม่งถึงรังสิตก็จะเลี้ยวขวาแล้ว 5555+
วิ่งไปเรื่อยๆ ถึงสระบุรี ไกลมากกกกกกก รถติดมากกก ฉันทนาเต็มข้างทาง แล้วพวก landmark ที่ให้ในแผนที่แม่งปิดไฟหมดแล้ว เลยขับเลยซอยไปไกลมาก ประมาณ 40 โลได้ แล้วกลับรถมา เข้าไปในซอย
รถเอ๊กนั้น เป็นรถครอบครัว toyota wish ไม่รู้เปิดไฟสูงค้างไว้ยังงัย สรุปคือเปิดให้มันค้างไม่ได้ ต้องกดค้างเอง เหมือนเล่น bio เหอๆๆ  คู่มือก็ไม่ได้ติดไว้ในรถ เลยขับๆไป ซอยแม่งอย่างมืด ไฟไม่มี พอเปิดไฟสูงปุ๊ป เจอพระเดินผ่าน หลอนใหญ่เลย เหอๆๆ แล้วก็ขับเข้ามาเรื่อยๆ มีทางเลี้ยว แม่งก็เกือบแหก ฯลฯ น่ากัวมากกกก ซอยนั้น ในที่สุดก็ถึง ไร่้เทพธิดาบัวสวรรค์
เดินทางนานมากกกกก เข้าไปเจอหน้าน้อง เหนื่อยใจกว่าเดิม..... หึหึหึ
ก็ไม่มีไร กินเหล้าๆๆ ห้องอาบน้ำก็ไกลจากที่พักมากกก เดินไปประมาณเกือบ 50 เมตร อาบเส็ดกลับมาก็เลอะฝุ่นแล้ว เหอๆๆ
วันแรกแม่งแดกเหล้ากัน ไม่แดกแสงโสมกันเรย แดกแต่ red ... ซื้อมาขวดเดียวแม่งไม่พอ เลยต้องเอาของเพื่อนอีกคนมาแดก โดยไม่ได้บอกมัน.....
แล้วก็แดกไปเกือบครึ่งกลม ห่า การกระทำไร้ความคิดจริงๆ หึหึหึ
แล้วก็นอน กูจำไม่ได้ เมา 5555+ รู้สึกจานอนบนรถเอ๊กมั้ง ทรมานมาก สิวขึ้นเต็มเรย ลืมแปรงฟันอีก nasty day สุดๆ
วันต่อมาก็ไปเที่ยวน้ำตก นั่งรถแชมป์ไป มี gps ด้วย หรูจิงๆ ขับๆมา gps แม่งบอกว่า "ใกล้ถึงจุดหมายแล้ว" เป็นคำพูดที่ดูไม่มีน้ำหนักมากสำหรับสินค้าที่ต้องการความถูกต้องอย่างนี้....
สรุป ขับเลยน้ำตก ไปประมาณ เกือบ 15 โล....
อ้อมไปมาอีก 5555+

ลงมา หิวมาก ซื้อส้มตำมาแดก..... สัดเอ๊ํย....

เพื่อนๆทุกคนจำไว้นะครับ น้ำตกเจ็ดสาวน้อย ส้มตำที่ขาย อาหารต่างๆ หมาไม่แดกมาก หมูย่างสีโคตรเหลือง น้ำปลาปลอม ซีอิ๋วปลอม ส้มตำจืดๆเผ็ดๆ ไก่ย่างแข็งมาก น้ำตกก็ไม่อร่อย สรุปเอาไป -15/10
แพงด้วย ซื้อไปเท่านั้นอ่า ประมาณ 400 กว่า มั้ง

ลงมาเล่นน้ำตก เย็นมากกกก น้ำลึกมากกกก เพิ่งรู้นะเนี่ย ว่าน้ำตกแม่งก็น้ำลึกเหมือนกัน เหอๆๆ

แล้วก็กลับมาตอนเย็นก็เตรียมจะบายศรี อะไรงี้กัน ด้วยความดีงามในจิตใจ ก็ทำให้เอ๊กขับรถไปพร้อมกู ไปซื้อ red แถวนั้นมาคืน ขวดที่แดกไป ก็เลยขับออกไป ใกล้ๆ ซื้อ ชิลๆ กลับมา
บายศรีเส็ด ก็ออกมาส่งบิ๊กอีกรอบ น้องฝ้าย ผู้หญิงร่างใหญ่ ก็บอกว่าไปส่งสถานีรถใกล้นิดเดียว ก็เลยชิลๆ มีน้องปี 2 มานั่งรถเล่นด้วย นึุกว่าไปกลับ 15 นาที...
เย็จแม่ ที่ไหนได้ ไปไกลถึงโลตัส เหมือนไปกลับรังสิต - สยาม ไกลสัดๆๆๆๆๆๆ
ใช้เวลาประมาณ ชั่วโมงนึง.....

กลับมา red หมด....

เห็นเค้านั่งแดกเหล้าตอก เชี่ยงชุน.....
ไม่อยากเผาเรย
น้องเอ็ม เมาหนักมาก ตัวแดงสุดริด จะกินลูกเดียว เหอๆๆ บ้าไปแล้ว

ก็ตระหนักได้ว่า เพื่อนกูมีชื่อพลอยเยอะมาก เลยตั้งกลุ่มใน msn ขึ้น ชื่อกลุ่ม พลอย ตอนนี้สะสมได้ 6 คนแร้ว มี

ประมาณวันพฤหัสวันศุกร์ หาที่เรียนต่อดีกว่า เพราะงาน art director ท่าทางจะไม่รุ่งเพราะเห็นทางดับมาแต่ไกล ก็เลยดูๆ mim ของธรรมศาสตร์ไว้ ค่าเทอมแม่งแพงสัดมาก 2 ปี ประมาณ 490,000 เลยโทรไปถามว่าแม่งมีค่าไรอีกป่าว แม่งก็บอกว่า มีค่ามหาลัยอีกเทอมละ 3-4000 ประมาณ 6 เทอม แล้วค่าไปทัศนศึกษาต่างประเทศอีก แถบยุโรป อเมริกา ประมาณแสนนึง สรุป 2 ปี 6 แสน แม่งยังกะเรียนต่างประเทศ เหอๆๆ
ก็เลยคุยกะ พี่ปอย กะ พี่ต้น ว่าอยากย้ายไปฝึุก strategy planning แล้วเค้าก็อธิบายว่างานทำไรมั่ง สรุปคือ อ่านหนังสือ ทำ case study ว่าสินค้านี้่ควรจะทำตลาดยังงัย ให้มันขายดีๆกว่าเดิม หรือทำไปตามเป้าหมายของบริษัท ไรเงี้ย อ่านหนังสือเยอะมาก ส่วนใหญ่ภาษาอังกฤษ แล้วเค้าบอกว่าเด๋วคุยให้ รอดอกเตอร์กลับมาก่อง ไม่สบาย ไม่รุ้เป็นไรท่าทางหนักมาก จนถึงเด๋วนี้ วันอังคารแล้วยังไม่กลับมาเรย เหอๆๆ

วันศุกร์ต่อมา เป็นวันอีกวันที่ผมไม่มีคอมที่บ้านก็ไปฝึกงานอย่างสงบ ไม่มีไร ตอนเย็นก็ไปหาอาจานปกป้อง ที่มหาลัย สอนทำเว็บของอาจานเค้า เห็นบอกว่าจะอัพเดทเอง ซึ่งตอนแรกก็ไม่เข้าใจว่าต้องการจะทำไร แต่พอไปถึงแล้วเค้าก็เล่าๆให้ฟังว่าอยากทำไร กว่าจะ sync กันนานมาก เพราะผมไม่มีความเป็นวิชาการในการรับฟังและการพูดนั้นเอง เลยสื่อสารกันอย่างยากลำบากดีแท้ สอนเส็ด ก็ไปนั่งแดกส้มตำกิ้ว โคตรอร่อยอ่า หลังจากแดกส้มตำที่ไม่อร่อยแถวหลังสวน มาหลายวันแล้ว
คือ ส้มตำแถวหลังสวนนี่แม่ง ไม่ค่อยอร่อยอย่างแรง เด๋วเล่า ไล่ให้ฟังทุกเจ้าเรย

เจ้าแรกที่ได้ไปกิน แถวที่ทำงาน วันแรกเป็นวันเกิด Executive creative director ตอนแรกจะไปแดกอาหารอิตาเลียนกัน แล้วเปลี่ยนไปแดกส้มตำแทน
เดินมาหน้าตึก เลี้ยวซ้าย ถึงเรย เป็นเพิงเล็กๆ เตี้ยๆ ชั้นเดียว ร้อนมากก อยู่ซอย มหาดเล็กหลวง 1 ถนนราชดำริ วันแรกแม่งก็พอกินได้ แต่้ส้มตำแม่งมีกลิ่นฟอร์มาลีน เนื้อย่างก็เหนียวๆ ไก่ย่างก็ไก่ไม่ค่อยสด ฯลฯ
การไปเยือนร้านนี้ครั้งต่อไป ไม่อร่อยกว่ารอบแรกอย่างแรง เก่าทุกอย่าง เหมือนทำค้างจากเมื่อวานเอามาให้แดก ส้มตำก็เย็นๆชืดๆ จืดๆ ฯลฯ
สรุป เอาไป -6/10

เจ้าที่สอง เดินไปนิดหน่อย เจ้านี้คงทะลุจากซอยหลังสวนได้ ชื่อร้าน มาดามครก คนเยอะมาก มีโต๊ะ แต่ไม่มีเก้าอี้..... ยังไม่เคยแดก แต่ดูจาก process การทำแล้ว ย่างไก่โดยใช้เครื่องย่างสูญญากาศ จาก วีรสุ หมูด้วย แต่ก็นะ ยังไม่เคยกิน ว่าไม่ได้

เจ้าที่สาม ไกลมากกก ตรงเต๊นท์ ห่าไรไม่รู้ คือจากถนนหลังสวน แล้วเดินมาเรื่อยๆ เกือบสุดถนน เป็นเต๊นท์ๆตลาดนัดมั้ง คนเยอะมาก เหมือนตลาดนัดบ้านนอกแมลงวันเยอะมากกก เดินเข้าไปในซอย เจอร้านนึงอยู่ด้านซ้าย ประตูสีฟ้า โต๊ะเรียงกันหลายตัวมาก เหมือนโรงอาหาร หยิบน้ำเอง น้ำแข็งก็ตักเอง เวลาเก็บเงินใช้ระบบนับจากบิล ไม่ได้นับจากจาน....
เข้าไปกิน ไก่ย่าง น่องเล็กมากก หมูย่างอร่อยดี ปลาช่อนย่างเกลือ ก็อร่อยดี แต่น้ำจิ้มไม่อร่อย ส้มตำไม่ค่อยอร่อย ไม่รู้ตำยังงัย มีผักต้มให้แดกฟรีด้วย จิ้มกะน้ำพริกหนุ่ม
สรุป เอาไป 2/10

และแล้ว วันที่รอคอยก็กลับมาถึง แม่กลับมาจากภูเก็ตวันที่ 28 มิ.ย. มั้ง แล้วก็ไปซื้อคอมเรย เพราะทนไม่ไหวแล้ว ห่างจากโลกอินเตอร์เน็ตมานานเกินไป หึหึหึ
แล้วก็ไปซื้อคอม ก็ชิลๆ คอมถูกๆ ไม่ค่อยมีไร กลับมาบ้านก็เอา Hdd เก่ามาต่อ แล้วก็พวก Soundcard ก๊อปไฟล์จาก Hdd เก่า เยอะมากกกกกกก แล้วก็ลงโปรแกรม โหลดโปรแกรม แต่ต้องโหลดหลายโปรแกรม มันคงนาน เลยเปิดคอมไว้ทั้งคืน....

ตื่นมาคอมดับ... ก็ไม่เป็นไร เพราะมันถูก เมนบอร์ดถูกๆ Asus ทุกๆท่านจะซื้อคอมจำไว้นะครับ ผมใช้มาหลายเครื่องแล้ว เร็วดีแท้ แต่ตายง่าย คือแม่งแปปเดียวก็พัง เครื่องนี้คงไม่นานหรอก ก็จะรวนพัง ฯลฯ
วันนั้นวันอาทิตย์ เรยยกคอมไปซ่อมที่พันทิพย์ ห่า แม่งบอกว่า Hdd เจ๊ง เพิ่งซื้อก็เจ๊งแล้ว ซ่อมนานมาก ลงวินโดว์ ประมาณ 5-6 ครั้งได้ คือครั้งแรกแม่งก็เช็คเมนบอร์ด ลง Hdd เค้า มันก็ลงได้ ชิลๆ ไม่เป็นไร แล้วก็มา back up ข้อมูล แล้วก็ format drive c: แล้วก็ลงวินโดว์ drive c: ลงไม่ได้ ก็ลงHdd เค้าอีกรอบ ลงได้ ก็ลง drive C: อีกรอบ พอแม่งไม่ได้จิงๆ ก็เลยเอา Hdd ตัวใหม่มาเปลี่ยนให้ แล้วก๊อบไฟล์จาก Hdd กูลงไป แล้วลงใหม่อีกรอบ เส็ด ประมาณทุ่มนึง
แล้วว่าจะซื้อแรมเพิ่มเป็น 4 กิ๊กด้วย แต่ร้านแม่งไม่มี Windows 64 bits เรยซักตัว เรยยังไม่ซื้อดีกว่า จะซื้อโปรแกรมแถวนั้นแม่งเด๋วก็ไม่เต็มอีก เหอๆๆ เรยกลับมาโหลดที่บ้านดูดีกว่า

ก็เลยไม่ได้ไปงานรับปริญญาเอิร์นเรยยย ขอโทษมา ณ ที่นี้ด้วย

ขณะรอ ซึ่งนานมาก ก็เลยเดินร่อนไปกินเบอร์เกอร์คิงกะแม่ แล้วก็เดินมาซื้อเม้าส์ปากกา Lapazz 8x6 ห่า ตอนจะซื้อก็ดีใช้ได้หมด ให้ลอง photoshop ก็ดีมีน้ำหนัก สวยงามดี แล้วลอง illus ก็ไม่มีให้ลอง เพราะไม่ได้ลงมั้ง ก็นึกว่าคงไม่มีปัญหาไร เหอๆ กลับมาบ้าน พอโหลด Creative suite 3 ลงแล้ว ใช้ แม่งห่า ดอ ไม่มีน้ำหนักเรย เส้นเรียบเท่ากันทั้งเส้น เหอๆๆ เซงสุดริด วาดรูปคงวาดได้แต่ใน photoshop หึหึหึ
แล้วก็ดู notebook มาด้วย Dell มั้ง ไม่ค่อยแพงเท่าไหร่เรย แต่ไม่ได้ซื้อมานะ

กลับมาบ้าน ลงเครื่องใหม่อีกรอบ เพราะที่แม่งลงให้มันเวอร์ชั่นเก่า ลงนานมากๆ โหลดโปรแกรม ย้ายไฟล์ ฯลฯ เส็ดประมาณ 4 ทุ่ม ตั้งโหลด CS3, Windows vista 64 bits sp1, MS office 2007, Adobe photoshop Lightroom 1.4 ทั้งคืนเรย เหอๆๆ
จิงๆ แล้ว การโหลดสิ่งเหล่านี้นั้นไม่ผิด เพราะเค้ามีให้โหลดอยู่แล้วในเว็บของเค้า.....
แต่การมาทำให้มันใช้ได้ตลอดกาล นั้นผิด เพราะที่โหลดมามันใช้ได้แค่ 15-30 วันเท่านั้น......
จากการที่ผมหยุดไปนานมาก ก็อาจเป็นไปได้ว่าทำให้พวกที่เข้ามาตอนแรกๆ ที่เห็นว่าอัพเดทบ่อยนั้น คิดว่าเวบนี้คงเจ๊งไปแล้ว แล้วก็ไม่เข้ามาอีกตลอดกาล 5555+

Aperture ได้ใส่ Dodge and Burn ซึ่งมาพร้อมกับเวอร์ชั่น 2.1 เข้ามาให้เรียบร้อยแล้วแถม Saturate/Desaturate, Sharpen/Blur, Contrast และ Fade มาให้อย่างครบถ้วน และในอนาคตทั้ง Nik Software และ Noise Ninja ก็จะพาเหรดมาเป็น Plug in ให้เลือกเพิ่มอีกแต่ต้องเสียเงินนะครับ ถ้าใครอยากได้ของฟรีต้องไปที่นี่ครับ Aperture Plugin ตอนนี้หลายตัวก็ปรับให้ใช้กับ 2.1 เกือบหมดแล้ว

Aperture สิ่งที่ประทับใจตั้งแต่เริ่มลงตัวทดลองใน เวอร์ชัน 2.0 ก็คือความเร็ว กับเครื่อง Macbook 2.0 Ram 2 GB มันช่วยให้รอบพัดลมที่เคยวิ่งขึ้นไปถึง 6000-7500 รอบ ลดลงอยู่ที่ระดับ 5000 รอบจะมีขึ้นไปเป็นบางครั้งแต่ก็กลับมาเป็นปกติ อุณหภูมิ CPU จากที่ช่วงสูงสุดจะอยู่ที่ 80 C กลับมาวิ่งอยู่ที่ 60-70 จะมีขึ้นไป 80 ก็บางครั้งเท่านั้น ได้ลองกับเครื่อง iMac 2.4 แรมแค่ 1 GB ยังวิ่งได้ลื่นถ้าอัดไปสัก 4 GB คงสบายๆ มีเพื่อนนร่วมงานที่ใช้ Powerbook ได้ลองกับตัวทดลองยังบอกเป็นเสียงเดียวกันว่าสบายขึ้นเยอะเมื่อเทียบกับตัว 1.X ที่ลงแล้วไม่สามารถทำงานได้เลย

LR ก็นับว่าทำได้ดีเช่นกันรู้สึกได้เลยว่าเร็วขึ้น ช่วงหมุนติ้วรอ Loading หายไป (เวอร์ชันบน Mac) อาจจะเพราะปรับเป็น 64 bit หรือปล่าว ถ้าได้มีโอกาสลองเวอร์ชั่นบน PC ที่ได้ปรับเป็น 64 Bit เหมือนกัน จะเป็นอย่างไรบ้างยังไม่อาจคาดเดา ต้องหาโอกาสลง Vista แล้วจะมา Update ให้อีกทีครับ รายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับการปรับเป็น 64 bit อ่านที่นี่ครับ หรือตามไปอ่านที่ John Nack เขียนไว้ และดู Video เกี่ยวกับสิ่งใหม่ๆในเวอร์ชั่นนี้ที่ NAPP

El sistema me iba bastante mejor que con Ubuntu, aunque no se si era por el hecho de ser Fedora o por el hecho de ser 64 bits. Lamentablemente, Fedora me ha dado demasiados problemas con las dependencias, algo de lo que casi me había olvidado en Debian. Y como cada vez que solucionaba un problema de esos, me aparecían otros tres, he decidido dejar de lado el Fedora y pasarme a Debian.

No es la primera vez que uso Debian, de hecho, suelo usarla casi tanto como Kubuntu, pero si que es la primera vez que lo pruebo en la versión de 64 bits. Supongo que aparte del Flash, no debería tener ningún problema.

Desde hace unos dias, e vuelto a dar un voto de confianza al mas recién Sistema Operativo de Microsoft y es que claro, disponer de un procesador con doble núcleo a 64 bits y usar un Sistema de 32 bits, es mal aprovechar el procesador y aunque XP dispone de 64 bits, creo que es estancarse, no avanzar, es por ello que decido a integrar en mi sistema, Windows Vista Ultimate de 64 bits y narro aquí, mis primeras experiencias con el sistema.

• ¿Que equipo necesito?

Una cosa es lo que pueda recomendar Microsoft, los requisitos mínimos suelen ser tan mínimos que son ridículos y no podremos aprovechar el potenciál gráfico que nos aporta el nuevo Windows Vista, es por ello, que lo mejor es hacer caso de los requisitos recomendados:

• Procesador de 32 o 64 bits a 1 GHz
• 1 GB de memoria RAM
• Tarjeta gráfica compatible con Windows Aero con 128 MB de RAM
• Disco duro de 40 GB con 15 GB libres
• Lector de DVD
• Tarjeta de sonido
• Acceso a Internet

Esto es lo que indican como "recomendados", pero incluso puedo decir que se quedan "cortos", al menos si queremos ejecutar varias tareas potentes al mismo tiempo (Los Dual Core/Quad Core están especialmente diseñádos para esto), por lo que y aunque parezcan demasiado, mi recomendación seria:

• Procesador Dual Core 2 a 2 Ghz en adelante.
• 2 Gb de memoria Ram para trabajo de rendimiento medio y 4 Gb si se pretende jugar.
• Tarjeta gráfica Ati x1950 Pro en DX9 o Nvidia 7600 y en DX10, Ati x3850/70 o Nvidia 8800

El resto, es obvio que disponemos de ello, pero si queremos mover bien la versión mas potente de Vista con 64 Bits, un equipo con esas prestaciones, será mas que suficiente para no prescindir de nada.

• Mi experiencia personal

Ya antes tuve instalado Windows Vista Ultimate 32 Bits, por que no podía instalar el 64 Bits, puesto que no contaba con un procesador indicado (Tenia un Pentium 4 2,53 Ghz), la experiencia no fue mala, la verdad es que tanta opinión negativa frena un poco antes de instalar Vista, pero como técnico, me gusta probar, diseccionar, instalar, eliminar, vamos, destrozar para poder reparar si es necesario y Vista se comportó bastante mejor de lo que esperaba, pero claro, fué al poco de salir al mercado y aún estaba muy verde en drivers, juegos y demás, con lo que poco a poco fui dejándolo de lado y regresé a XP, que me aportaba una mayor compatibilidad con todo lo que instalaba.

Este fue mi primer contacto, el segundo a sido desde hace escasos días, así que no puedo ser muy objetivo todavia, pero si adelantar los principales cambios que noto desde XP a Windows Vista 64 bits.

1. Tras pulsar el botón encendido, es normal que XP tarde mas en iniciar, por que está cargado de programas y aunque lo tengo optimizado, tarda bastante en entrar en el escritorio y poder comenzar a trabajar con el. Con Windows Vista, en pocos segundos estoy listo para comenzar a usarlo, teniendo en cuenta que tengo activo Aereo y todas las virguerias gráficas disponibles y que tengo el antivirus/Firewall como residentes. Por lo tanto, Vista es mas eficiente en el inicio/apagado.
2. La gestión de la memoria Ram, aunque nos prometieron que con Vista seria mas eficaz, la verdad es que a mejorado, pero tampoco me pondría a tirar cohetes por ello y sigue siendo elevada la cantidad que requiere, mas si tenemos la versión de 64 bits, es por ello que la recomendación de los 2 Gb, es acertada, ya que nada mas entrar en el escritorio, ya estaremos en torno a los 800 Mb consumidos y claro, si se cuenta con 1 Gb en breve el rendimiento cae, por que comienza a hacer uso de la memoria virtual (disco duro).
3. El comportamiento con los programas es magnifico, todo se inicia mas rápido y aunque tengas muchos programas abiertos, Vista ni pestañea, se muestra tan estable consumiendo 800 Mb que 1,7 Gb, esto con XP no suele pasar, poco a poco comienza a saturarse y a mostrarse inestable por momentos.
4. La administración, en XP lo tenemos todo prácticamente visible, hacemos clic en los correspondientes iconos y accedemos a sus funciones, en Vista lo han esquematizado todo y aunque resulta un poco confuso (Lo mismo que del paso de Office 03 a 2007, un poco lio) te adaptas y te das cuenta de que tienen mas herramientas y mas potentes, algo que nos transmite mas robustez.
5. La seguridad, en Vista es solo un poco mejor que con XP, pero esto es fácil entender, teniendo en cuenta que con XP era totalmente nula, al menos con el SP2 intentaron integrar un cortafuegos, pero tan malo, que lo mejor era desactivarlo directamente y Ram libre que quedaba, o la usabas con uno de verdad y no de juguete. En Vista nos han querido poner un "antivirus+Firewall" que lo único que hace es preguntar continuamente si queremos dar permiso hasta para mover el ratón, pero si queremos seguridad, nuevamente tendremos que buscar programas de terceros, Kaspersky o Bitdefender 11 pueden ser buenas opciones a tener en cuenta. Aunque repito, la seguridad a nivel administrativo, si a mejorado y merece la pena el cambio por este detalle.
6. La apariencia. Este punto, realmente no es importante, sobre todo si no se dispone de un equipo como el recomendado, ya que notaremos que el rendimiento es inferior a XP (De aqui la mayoria de protestas que leemos en los foros, de gente que quiere regresar a XP), pero si tenemos de un equipo de pocos meses y de gama media, será un gustazo ver a Windows Vista con todo activo, es realmente bonito, pero claro, este efecto dura las primeras semanas, luego nos daremos cuenta que lo que se busca es un buen rendimiento y seguro que se irán quitando funciones para optimizar el sistema... Esto, es muy personal, hay quien prefiriere rendimiento, hay quien prefiere la apariencia y mi consejo personal, es que se busque un equilibrio entre ambas cosas.
7. La navegación y el uso inalambrico. Aqui noto una mejora MUY IMPORTANTE en relación a XP, en pocos segundos tenia configurado el adaptador Wifi y navegando, esto es muy de agradecer, por que el Wifi es ahora una moda y si el Sistema Operativo facilita esta labor, mejor...al mismo tiempo, se muestra muy estable, jamás e perdido una conexión, algo que con XP si pasaba, otra cosa que noto, es una velocidad de descarga mas estable, con XP comenzaba a descargar y a los pocos segundos me daba un bajón, no tiene que ser culpa expresa de Windows, pero si es un factor a tener en cuenta.
8. La búsqueda. Este para mi es el plato fuerte de Vista, con XP la busqueda era manual en su mayoria, tenias que seleccionar el criterio de lo que buscabas, con Vista, la busqueda queda totálmente integrada en el sistema y busca de todo, no se limita en archivos, busca programas y los abre directamente, en cuanto a la rapidez, en seguida notaremos que esto se a optimizado muchísimo, ahora es infinitamente mas rápido y te lo ordena todo mejor, además, todo desde el botón de inicio, este botón se a mejorado mucho también, aunque podremos optar por dejarlo del modo clásico, es recomendable dejar el que viene por defecto, ya no se abren enormes menús que llenan toda la pantalla, en el mínimo espacio lo tenemos todo y podemos ver el resto de la pantalla, cosa que se agradece bastante.

Por ahora, esto es lo mas destacable, no puedo profundizar por que no llevo ni una semana con este Sistema instalado, prometo ir creando nuevos artículos con nuevas experiencias y soluciones a problemas que vayan surguiendo y a continuación, podreis leer la primera solución al primer problema que me surgió, espero que ayude a personas que se vieron en la misma situación, por ahora puedo decir que ahora si tengo un sistema estable.

O instalador é um arquivo auto - extração, que, quando executado, cria uma pasta chamada Firefox Community Edition no local selecionado. Esta pasta contém o arquivo chamado firefox.exe, que é utilizado para executar o Firefox 64 bits. Posteriormente, o software pode ser usado como de costume.

Instalar o Flash Player em um navegador 64 bits já foi muito complicado, hoje é bastante simples e o resultado é muito bom. O Debian Lenny oferece ainda mais facilidade que o Ubuntu 7.04, por exemplo, já que os pacotes necessários já estão nos repositórios oficiais.

Chega de conversa e vamos instalar o Flash Player no nosso Iceweasel/Firefox 64 bits. Primeiramente, baixe as dependências com o seguinte comando:

# apt-get install nspluginwrapper

O "#" significa que você deve estar logado como root.

Agora, vamos baixar a última versão do Flash Player no site oficial:

install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz

Agora, vamos descompactar o arquivo e entra no diretório criado com os comandos:

# tar -xvzpf install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz
# cd install_flash_player_9_linux

Feito isso, precisamos mover os arquivos do plugin para os diretórios corretos, para isso, use o seguinte comando:

# mv flashplayer.xpt libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

Agora, logado como o usuário normal ("$"), rode o comando abaixo:

$ nspluginwrapper -v -a -i

Pronto, agora seu Iceweasel/Firefox está pronto para utilizar o plugin flash. Apenas esclarecendo, o nspluginwrapper permite usar plugins 32 bits em navegadores 64 bits, mas para isso, ele usa bibliotecas em 32 bits (instaladas como dependências dele) e pode gastar um pouco mais de memória que o usual quando o plugin for utilizado. Apesar disso, é uma excelente opção pela facilidade de instalação e para evitar o uso de um sistema em chroot. Espero que tenha sido útil como foi para mim.

So now I have a Debian Lenny partition, plus three other: the original WinXP, the Ubuntu Dapper I am still using as "main" OS, and a Fedora 7 I installed just because it came in a DVD with a magazine I bought for a train trip I had not brought any reading material with me :^)

Since I am on vacation, and I have plenty of time (although I don't want to spend all of it on my comp), I decided to give Compiz Fusion a try, mostly after seeing what it its capable of.

First things first, the specs of my laptop are:

Fujitsu-Siemes Amilo PI1536
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2x2.0GHz
RAM: 2x1Gb
HD: 120Gb SATA
Display: 15.4 WXGA
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 (128Mb dedicated/512Mb shared)

The only relevant parts above are that it has an ATI graphics card (which, under Linux, sucks), and that it has Core 2 CPUs, which are amd64-capable (which is both great, for performance, and sucks, for drivers and software compatibilities). So, my second step was:

Installation of ATI drivers

If you want to take the best out of your ATI card, you have to tell your X.org graphics server to use the fglrx driver, and not the default vesa one. You can install this driver from the official Debian repositories, but for me those packages (fglrx-driver and related ones) didn't do it.

So, I googled a bit, and followed the most widespread recommendation: to install the latest non-free (sigh) driver from the ATI site. For that, I chose the options: Linux x86_64 -> Mobility Radeon -> Mobility Radeon X1400 -> Go, reaching this page, and downloading this 38MB binary (for the record, the 32bit version of the drivers is exactly the same .run file).

Next, I followed the remaining information in this excelent thread in linuxquestions.org. Namely, I downloaded the needed packages (the code is copy-paste-able):

% aptitude install module-assistant build-essential dh-make debhelper debconf libstdc++5 linux-headers-$(uname -r) ia32-libs

Beware that the ia32-libs packages is not mentioned in the linuxquestions.org thread (assuming that you already have it installed), but it is required.

Next, run the ATI binary inside a dedicated directory (I did it as root, but it is not compulsory):


% mkdir /root/fglrx
% cd /root/fglrx
% mv wherever-I-downloaded-it/ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run .
% chmod +x ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run
% ./ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Debian/lenny
% rm or mv the .run file wherever you want


This generates a bunch of .debs in the /root/fglrx dir. Next, install them, and compile the driver (for this, you do need to be root):


% dpkg -i fglrx-*.deb
% cd /usr/src
% m-a prepare
% m-a a-i fglrx


The linuxquestion.org thread mentions modifying the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file in two ways. First, disable compositing, adding:

For me, both were superfluous, because I made a copy of my Ubuntu xorg.conf, and them made minimal changes (if at all). However, the first change (disabling compositing) was straightforward wrong. If I want to use Compiz Fusion, I need to have it. Relevant excerpts from my xorg.conf:

After all this fuss, and to ensure you have it all running OK, try to insert the module as root:

% modprobe fglrx

Then, make sure it loads everytime you reboot (include it in /etc/modules if necessary, but it shouldn't be).

Next, reload the X server, and check that now it is running the fglrx driver, by doing the following (as user is fine):

% fglrxinfo

It should display something like the following:


display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6650 (8.39.4)


If, instead, it says something about mesa3d, it didn't work.

Now, the second step is...

Installing Xgl

With the standard X.org server we have a problem. We can load the fglrx driver, but we can not activate compositing (see last three lines of my xorg.conf file above). If we activate compositing in the xorg.conf file, the ATI driver will not be loaded (don't ask me why, it just seems to happen). If we deactivate compositing, the ATI driver gets loaded, but without compositing, we can not use Compiz.

The solution is to install Xgl which is an X server (or, I think, a kind of layer that runs on top of the X.org server) that allows for the above trick. There seem to be two "ways" of getting proper compositing: Xgl and AIGLX. The general agreement on the net seems to be that the latter is "better", but only the former seems to work with ATI cards (read the "AIGLX with AMD (ex-ATI) Proprietary Drivers" section in the AIGLX Wikipedia article, because it hits the problem dead-on). With Xgl I can make use of the fglrx driver and have compositing at the same time.

We are lucky here, because there are Debian repositories for Xgl. I found out about them in this howto in tuxmachines.org. Most of the info there is mostly... ehem... useless (for me), but reading it I found a repo for Xgl. I just have to add the following line to my /etc/apt/sources.list (beware that the original mention in the tuxmachines.org page says "binary-i386", and I had to change it to "binary-amd64"):

deb http://www5.autistici.org/debian-xgl/debian/ binary-amd64/

I then had to do aptitude update, and I (of course) got an error telling me that some signatures couldn't be verified (read my own article about secure APT and/or the wonderful Debian wiki to know more). I think the key is 11F6E468, and it corresponds to Francesco Cecconi (mantainer of the repo). It is downloadable from pgpkeys.mit.edu (follow instructions on my previous post, or the ones in the Debian wiki). If you want, do not skip reading the parent page of the repository.

After the keys are OK, it's just a matter of doing (as root):


% aptitude update
% aptitude install xgl


Now you are done installing, but will have to actually use Xgl. This gave me some headaches, not because I didn't know where to put things, but because I didn't know exactly what to put. I read, and followed, the instructions in freedesktop.org, and (after all, the blog seems to be useful for someone: myself) a previous post of my own.

I am using GDM, so my final setup was the following: first generate a suitable entry in the GDM menu, by creating a file named /usr/share/xsessions/xfce4-xgl.desktop (or whatever, but in the same dir, and ending in ".desktop"), and putting the following inside:

Exec=/usr/local/bin/startxgl_xfce
Icon=Type=Application


The string after "Name=" is the one that will appear in the GDM menu, and the one after "Exec=" what will be executed when selecting that entry.

Next, we have to create the string we promise above (/usr/local/bin/startxgl_xfce), and put the following inside:


# Start the Xgl server:
Xgl -fullscreen :0 -ac -accel glx:pbuffer -accel xv:pbuffer -fp /usr/share/X11/fonts/misc & sleep 5 && DISPLAY=:0
# Start Xfce:
exec xfce4-session


As you can see, I am telling Xgl to load a font (with -fp) that was giving me headaches, because the server would die saying that the font was missing when I didn't include that option. Your mileage may vary.

Now, everytime we select the entry labeled "Xfce-Xgl" in the GDM menu, we will have the Xgl server running.

Installing Compiz Fusion packages

I think the aforementioned autistici.org repo has compiz packages, as well as the default Debian Lenny repos. But net consensus seems to be that they are not the way to go. Everyone praises two repositories: Treviño's and Shame's. I chose the latter, adding the following line to my /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/shames/debian-sid/desktopfx/unstable/ ./

I think I went through the same chores as above for key verification, Shame's key being A42A6CF5.

After that, I installed the following package (it installs all of the needed packages):

% aptitude install compiz-fusion-all

After that, and inside my "Xfce-Xgl" session, I just did the following, as some googling revealed:

% compiz --replace

But... it didn't work :^( It complained in the following manner:


Fatal: Failed test: texture_from_pixmap support
Checks indicate that it's impossible to start compiz on your system.


I found a lot of pages, threads and howtos in the net stumbling upon this same problem (for example, this one at ubuntuforums.org), but none with the answer. Really. None. The most enlightening tips where the use of the -v, -h and --help switches for compiz. The first one requests verbose output, the second one help about "short" options, and the third one help about the "long" options. With the latter I discovered the --force-fglrx switch, which saved the day! Yes, I now use the following command to start Compiz:

% compiz --replace -c emerald --force-fglrx

I have two things to say at that point. First: this Compiz Fusion is visually astonishing! It is full of great ideas, and has a lot of settings to play with. The second thing is not so nice: some glitches are present. For example, my Konsole windows get transparent background for no reason, and the refresh is horrible (when text reaches the bottom on the terminal, it starts to overwrite itself. One must hide and un-hide the window for proper refreshing, which is unacceptable). The latter also affects other windows, which, all in all, makes it unsuitable for much comfort.

However, Compiz Fusion is new, hot and experimental. I love playing with it, but right now it can not be relied upon. On the bright side, in the three days from my installation, the packages have been updated three times! I suppose some aptitude upgrade cycles will fix the issues eventually.

Install ATI drivers

I followed the instructions at this wiki. For the record, I used method 1, and it worked.

Install a SMP kernel

My CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200... I want a SMP kernel, otherwise I am wasting one of the two cores!

Problem is, the friggin Ubuntu has no 2.6 kernels labeled "SMP". Why, oh why!? OK, I found out: all 2.6.*-686 kernels are actually SMP, even if they don't say anything. If you have 1 CPU, fine. If you have more, they'll be detected at boot time. No more "-smp" in the kernel names.

Wireless with 686 kernel

The default 2.6.15-686 supports the wireless just fine, but installing a 686 kernel (required for SMP, see above) seems to break the wireless. However, the solution is easy. As stated in this Ubuntu forum thread, one just needs to install the "restricted" kernel modules corresponding to her kernel (in my case 2.6.15-27-686):

% aptitude install linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15-27-686

After that, reboot. I guess that the new module is loadable (try modprobe ipw3945), without having to reboot... dunno. Also, if you want to have the restricted modules package upgrade automatically, install linux-restricted-modules-686.

Install a 64-bit kernel

OK, installing the mainstream 32-bit Ubuntu was a success. Now I have given Ubuntu amd64 a try (amd64 is for both EM64T (Intel) and AMD64 (AMD)).

Everything went smooth, except installing the ATI drivers (as explained above): the screen froze black when loading GDM. To solve this, I read the troubleshooting section in the link above, and found out that I could either add:

Load "extmod"

or:

SubSection "extmod"
  Option "omit XVideo"
  Option "omit XVideo-MotionCompensation"
  Option "omit XFree86-VidModeExtension"
EndSubSection

to the Section "Modules" of /etc/X11/xorg.conf (beware, it's one OR the other, not both). For me the Load "extmod" did not work, but the SubSection "extmod" did.

Now, for the Xgl thing in 64-bits...

I followed the instructions in a previous post, but I found out that some packages were missing, so I manually downloaded them from the Xgl.compiz site. Namely, I downloaded them from the "Edgy" section. However, it didn't work for me :^(
