<p>Esta vez no me interesa tanto la pintura en sí, como el video (al final del post) que intenta transformar la visión de la obra insertándole una tercera dimensión.</p>
<p>Creo, primero que nada que intentar exponer una obra de Picasso en tercera dimensión está sobre todo fuera de lugar, porque Picasso intentaba que un medio bidimensional como es la pintura o dibujo, o los experimentos que hizo con materiales, tuvieran independencia y no tuvieran que luchar constantemente por alcanzar una copia de la realidad.</p>
<p>La presentación de los dos ojos sobre el perfil del rostro, los cubos en los que todos los lados se observaban y las poses mostrando la espalda y los pechos al mismo tiempo son simplemente experimentos para mostrar una realidad integral en el mural, es por tanto ilógico.</p>
<p>Mis obras favoritas de Picasso, los Guitarrones hechos de periódicos y cartón, demuestran diferentes facetas del instrumento en un montaje totalmente plano. La magia y corazón del cubismo está en la liberación del medio, pintura, dibujo, ready-made, del paradigma de que el arte es simplemente una reproducción de la realidad, ¿No puede ser el arte bella simplemente por si misma y no ser bella por contacto con la belleza de sus sujetos?, creyendo que sí toda la dimensión fue "satirizada" en un medio totalmente plano y omnidimensional al mismo tiempo.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="margin-bottom:0;line-height:150%;"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:small;">A very different approach to tree growth simulations has been developed by Colin Smith and Przemyslaw Prusinkiewicz (Colin Smith 2006). It is quite different from most methods where trees are described as a set of modified cylinders. The authors of this paper made an observation that a tree in the process of its growth changes quite a lot. These changes take place at a cellular level. Therefore, the method that they describe tries to mimic misbehaviors of cells in a tree tissue. </span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0;line-height:150%;">
<p style="margin-bottom:0;line-height:150%;"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:small;"> The authors developed vertex-to-vertex (vv) formalism to describe cell-like system behavior. This means that the approach is targeted at dynamic systems, which change through time. Vertex-to-vertex formalism is similar to L-systems in that it uses lineage information and context to identify elements of structure. Vertex-to-vertex formalism relies only on local information in contrast to L-system declarative nature, which describes rules for the whole structure. This method allows associating each vertex of a polygonal mesh with a list of its neighboring vertices.  The resulting structure is manipulated using vv algebra, which includes a set of various operators. </span></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:0;line-height:150%;"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:small;">The form change in vv formalism is a result of tensions introduced to tissues by growth. Each vertex is affected by a sum of forces from neighboring vertices. Also, external forces can be introduced, such as gravity and the pressure of the internal structure layer to its external layer. </span></span></p>

Mientras realizaba sus estudios en la escuela de arte de Tours, Francia, trabajó en una fundición. Allí le vino la idea de construir sus propias máquinas, robots, vehículos utilizando Cinema 4D para el modelado y animación, VRay y Photoshop para la post-producción.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Panel3D now supports transparency]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[Not too long ago I created a WPF panel that lays out its child elements in 3D space, called Panel3D.]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not too long ago I created a WPF panel that lays out its child elements in 3D space, called <a href="http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/panel3d.aspx" target="_blank">Panel3D</a>.  When playing around with it, I never could figure out a way to make the 3D models in the panel support transparency, such that you could see models lower in the z-order "through" models higher in the z-order.  The models higher in the z-order (i.e. those appearing closer to the viewer) were always opaque, thus covering up models behind them.</p>
<p>Someone left a comment on that article, asking how to create semi-transparent items in Panel3D.  I didn't know the answer, but luckily <a href="http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/panel3d.aspx?msg=2544187#xx2544187xx" target="_blank">someone else did</a>.  It turns out that I was adding the 3D models to the Viewport3D's Children collection in the wrong order.  Panel3D was putting the front-most model at the beginning of the Children collection (technically, the scene's light source is the very first child).  The index of a model in the Children collection matched its visible index, meaning that the element furthest away from the viewer was the last child in the Viewport3D.  This was completely wrong!</p>
<p>It turns out that transparency of 3D models in a Viewport3D is a little more tricky than working with transparency of 2D elements living in a 2D world.  For transparency to work correctly in a Viewport3D, you must add the models into the Children collection in the opposite order than which we see them (relative to the scene's camera).  If you want to learn more about this issue, go to <a href="http://blogs.msdn.com/pantal/archive/2007/07/23/sorting-for-wpf-3d-transparency.aspx" target="_blank">this blog post</a>, which explains the issue quite well.  Unfortunately, the utility method offered in that post does not work in Panel3D.</p>
<p>I modified Panel3D so that it arranges the models in the correct order.  The updated source code is not yet available, since I want to give it some time to marinate in my head before I revise the CodeProject article.  I did, however, update the WPF Disciples Blog Viewer 3D (with audio) application so that it takes advantage of this new feature.</p>

<p>I also added two new dependency properties to Panel3D.</p>
<p><strong>AllowTransparency</strong> must be set to true if you want the models to be "truly" transparent.  If you leave it to false, the old behavior is honored, where the items become more "dim" when their opacity is lowered.  The new WPF Disciples Blog Viewer 3D app, seen above, sets this to true, which is why you can see through the items.</p>
<p><strong>AutoAdjustOpacity</strong> can be set to false if you do not want Panel3D to automatically set the opacity of each element displayed in the scene.  The new WPF Disciples Blog Viewer 3D app, seen above, sets this to false, which is why the items do not seem to fade away as they move into the distance.</p>
<p>I will release the new source code and update the CodeProject article soon...I promise! :D</p>

<p>It got an update, and it has a bunch of new pieces to make tracks with. The video shows one of my favorite additions. It also has more players, most of them are new, but that's ok. And it's still completely free!</p>
<p>If you made an account with the old TM Nations, there's no need to worry, the game will recognize your account if you remember the password and everything. The new editor is a bit confusing (there are separate pieces for the railing and actual track, so you have to find the right one. A bit difficult if you want the track to ramp up in certain ways) but there is an option to go to a less complicated editor if you can't keep up with all of the new pieces. I don't think anything else was really modified, (I had a feeling that maybe the car turned faster than I remember, but I don't know if that's true or not) but it's still enough that you should really get the update. And don't forget that you have to have steam!</p>
