Hi everyone!

Now I have quite a lot to tell you. Last week, Christina, Ben and I had a presentation about Switzerland. It turned out to be very good even though everything was improvised. In New Zealand, nobody knows anything about Switzerland and they were very impressed. For example, it’s unimaginable for them that we eat melted cheese with pieces of bread as a whole meal or that the Santa Clause doesn’t come on the 24th of December but on the 6th and that he goes from house to house personally to tell the children what they did well and what not. I learned a lot as well from Christina’s part about politics; I didn’t know that Switzerland is the only country in the world with direct democracy. Anyway everyone thinks Switzerland is beautiful and I have a lot of requests from students to visit me in Switzerland :).

Last Friday, I went home directly after school to pack my things and we went to the airport to fly to Nelson. The plane was the smallest I’ve ever flown with, it only supported 10 persons and the pilot. It was a bit scary but the good thing was that there was almost no wind on the flight to Nelson and we had an astonishing view over all the small islands on the South Island. When we arrived in Nelson after 40 minutes, we tried to rent a car but we didn’t have much hope because the minimum age to rent a car in New Zealand is 25. However, the first woman from Budget Car Rent we asked gave us one (it was a bit more expensive though because Lukas doesn’t have the minimum age) but we were so happy to have a car that we didn’t really care about the extra money we had to pay. After filling in all the forms and organizing the car staff, we hit the road to Nelson City trying to find our hostel. As you might know, I’m a horrible navigator and I lead Lukas to a completely wrong place. In fact, we ended up in the middle of a strange forest :). The hostel was great…very clean and friendly staff. After dropping off our luggage, we went off for dinner in a very good restaurant in the center of Nelson.

On Saturday, we got up quite early, had a very quick breakfast and then started our drive to the Abel Tasman National Park which is famous for its beautiful beaches. The drive was so nice; the weather was gorgeous and as we had to drive over a mountain pass, we had a great view from up there. After two hours or so we arrived at the first beach of the Park but there was nobody there and the water taxi didn’t arrive on time so we had no choice but to try another beach. We went to some very nice beaches and lay down for a while but after some time we realized that there are a lot of sun flies; that are insects which pick you but it’s much worse than the midges in Switzerland. If you scrape them you cannot stop and it can get infected. So we decided to leave the National Park and go to Golden Bay; that’s the longest natural sandy beach in the world and it’s so nice there…i could have stayed there for ages but we had to get back to our hostel because it was getting dark already. So we had dinner on the way and then went home under a sky full of bright shiny stars…that was really romantic

On Sunday we slept in and then had a look around Nelson and we also had to wash the car as it was covered in mud because we had to drive through some very high puddles :). We had lunch in a sports bar and watched a rugby game from the national team of New Zealand…this sport is just barbaric! But funny to watch anyway ;). At 8pm our plane went back to Wellington and this time the weather wasn’t that calm anymore…it was quite windy and the flight was very bumpy. It was not very funny :). After arriving in Wellington we had to wait for the bus to the city for almost an hour and in the city we had to wait for the bus home for another hour.

All in all, the weekend was great…the best weekend ever since I’m in New Zealand :). And we already have plans for the next weekend: We will rent a car in Wellington and then drive up to Napier and in the rain forest. We will be a group of 5 persons because 3 of my friends from school will come as well. It will be great and my dream of the rain forest will finally come true!

I’m just about to leave to Nelson with Lukas. Our plane leaves at 6.30pm and we will be back at Sunday evening. I think I will have a lot to tell you after this weekend and I certanly will make a lot of pictures because the South Island is great and Nelson is supposed to be the beach paradise in New Zealand. And I happened to be very lucky for once because the weather is supposed to be fantastic! I think summer finally arrived

Hello everyone!

I hope everything is ok in Switzerland!

Here in New Zealand, everything is great! Lukas arrived last Wednesday and I picked him up at the airport. I happened to bump into my director from school which was a bit embarrassing because I didn’t tell him that I was absent this day. Anyway I was sooo happy to have my Lukas again and we’ve been having a great time since he arrived. On Friday we went to play bowling with my hole class because it was the last evening for two girls of my class.

On Saturday we slept in and had a lazy day and in the evening we went to a house party at my Chinese friend’s house. It was very funny but it was far too much food there. We had self-made sushi and after that we had a few drinks and my Japanese friend was very drunk. I suppose she drank for the first time but fortunately she could stay at Dan’s house overnight. After the party we went to Molly Malones, my favourite Irish pub, and again there was a gorgeous live band. Before we went home, we went to Burger King to have some burgers and deserts

On Sunday we had to sleep in again to prevent ourselves from a hangover :) At 2pm we started to make Christmas cookies: Brunzli, Spitzbuebe and Vanilla Kripfel (or whatever you call this half-moon shaped cookies). Hmmm, they are so good, most of them are already eaten because my friends also like them very much :). In the evening, we cooked Zuerigschnaetzles for Juerg and Marcita and they really seemed to like it. I think we will cook for them once a week from now on, it’s great fun to cook for other people I found out.

And this week, nothing special happened…I go to school every day in the morning and in the afternoon I also stay at school to work in my self study book. Lukas has to work 8.5 hours a day from home so I sometimes go for a coffee with friends and then go home or he comes to the city if the weather is nice. But this is not often the case at the moment…it rains a lot and the best thing you can do is to stay somewhere inside

Tomorrow, I have my next private lesson…the first one last week was very good, i learned a lot of grammar staff and that’s exactly what I need to learn because the grammar is quite difficult.

I think that’s everything…I will have a look at my camera if there are some new pictures to show ou but I’m quite sure that there’s nothing special. I think the following weekend we go to see some nice places and the weekend after this we will go to Nelson. I just hope the weather is nice because then we will be able to to to the National Park of Nelson which is supposed to be very nice.

Hello everyone!!

I hope the weather in Switzerland is better than here; at the moment it’s just ugly! I had bad luck once more; we couldn’t go to the rainforest because it was pouring continuously and in the rainforest it was even snowing. Winter is back and I really don’t like this, I really have to push myself out of the bed in the morning. I was very disappointed that it didn’t work out with the rainforest, I have been looking forward to this weekend for such a long time and I was really pissed off because I didn’t know what to do the whole long weekend because I’ve had enough of parties. But nevertheless the weekend was funny and I had a good time. On Friday, Christina and I went to the library to borrow all the Lord of the Rings DVDs and the first one, we watched on Friday evening. On Saturday, we went comfort shopping…the stores are full of sale offers. Now I have to watch my money :). In the evening, we went to a Korean restaurant with some Asian friends…the food was just horrible! I’ve never eaten anything as spicy as this, that was just too much…the following night I was sick and went to the toilet just about every hour :). On Sunday, Christina came here to watch the other two Lord of The Rings DVDs. It was good to see them because the movies were made in New Zealand and the landscapes are now quite familiar to me. But all in all, I don’t like the films that much because it’s a bit too much fighting in my opinion. As it was quite late when we finished the movies, Christina slept here and on Monday we got up early to drive to the most southern point of the north island with Jürg and Marcita. It was soooooo beautiful! We’ve seen another seal colony and we picniced in the middle of nowhere :).

Today, I had my first private lesson…it was really good…I learned much more in this hour than in all the afternoon classes in 5 weeks together. Self studying in the afternoon is quite good for me…I can work in my book in peace and everything is fine :).

Soooo and now the most important thing; Lukas is coming tomorrow!! *jump* and *cheer*. I’m sooo excited and nervous…now he should be on the way from Los Angeles to Auckland and the plane is supposed to arrive early in the morning. I told my teacher that, unfortunately, I cannot be at school tomorrow because I will pick him up at the airport of course :).

Now I have to hang up my clothes, the washing should be finished by now.

Hi my dears!

Once more, I hope you are all well!

Where shall I start? Oh yes! Last week was really annoying for me because I had trouble at school. As I have already told you, the class is not what I expected and I went to the director. Since then, the morning class is ok despite the fact that there are still two levels (first and advanced) mixed. Anyway the level is now advanced which means that the first students are overloaded and are not able to put up with it. It’s just ridiculous what they are doing there! But at least, we started practising for the advanced finally (after 5 weeks!!). However, the afternoon class has not improved and i therefore went to Julie (the director) again on Friday. I told her that I will not go to the afternoon class anymore. (You have to talk very clearly to New Zealand people; you can’t just say “I’m not happy and I might cancel afternoon class”; they would say “oooh I’m really sorry about that, maybe you can change to another class next week). As I said “I will not go to the afternoon class anymore”, Julie looked thunderstruck and said “Oh no, love, what happened?” I said that I don’t learn one single word in the listening and speaking class and that I want to use the time to do self-study. She said, I should first try the Cambridge writing class which they set up the same week (before, everyone was just put in any other writing class) and I agreed and went to the writing class the same afternoon. It was the most horrible teacher I’ve ever had! He had no idea of Cambridge certificates and after 20 minutes he said: “Let’s kill some time now”. One of my class who is very very childish suddenly threw a pencil at the teacher for some reason and the teacher took the pencil from the floor and threw it back at her with full power. I thought “oh my god, where am I?” After this class, I’ve had enough and I went back to Julie’s office and told that I tried writing class and that it’s even worse than any other classes I’ve had and that I will definitely cancel afternoon class. She said we can try that I learn for myself in the afternoon and after some days I can decide if I want to go back to the afternoon class (which I will definitely not do). I asked her what happens with the money from the lessons I don’t attend and she offered me one private lesson a week and that’s a good offer for me, so I agreed.

On Friday, I organised tickets for the Bollywood show for 7 people of my class. We met in front of the opera house and noticed after some minutes that we might be at the wrong place as there were almost only Indians there dressed in Indian clothes. We expected a dancing show like it was advertised on the leaflet for the show but it wasn’t. It was only an Indian band playing and different “stars” singing some Bollywood songs. At the beginning I thought “oh my god, now I know why the tickets were only 20 dollars” :). But with the time, I really started to like the strange music and finally it was really funny :). After the Bollywood show, we went for a drink and then I went home..

On Saturday, I went shopping with Christina because everything is on sale now and in the evening, almost the whole class went to the Karaoke bar. It was so funny! I sang “We are the champions” with Christina and “Dancing queen” with Aki. Our singing was so horrible! It seems that good old Olga was not able to teach me all that much. But who cares? Other people who tried to sing were not much better

On Sunday, I slept in until 11.30am and then went running at the water front with Christina. It was so nice. We passed Oriental Bay where I’ve never been before even though it’s so close to the city. It was beautiful! Unfortunately, it’s still too cold to go swimming in the sea but the weather was so nice and the beaches are soooo nice there! I will definitely go back there…

I think next weekend I can tell you a bit more interesting experiences because it’s the rainforest weekend! We will leave on Friday afternoon and come back on Monday evening. It will be great! The only bad thing is that I’m not sure if I will be able to take a shower as much as I need it (every day) but I can put up with that. You always have to bring sacrifices :). And the following Wednesday, Lukas will finally arrive! Slowly but surely, I get a bit impatient as I have been waiting for 6 weeks now..

Here in New Zealand is Sunday evening and there has just been a beautiful sunset!

On Friday, Marcita, Christina and I went to the Opera House to see “The Sound of Music”. It was amazing! The story is really impressing: it plays in the beginning of the Second World War and it’s about a family with 7 children. The youngest child was about 4 years old and it sang so nicely, I couldn’t believe my ears! Once, she lost one of her shoes and just carried on dancing until she was on the same place where her shoe was and put it on like a professional :). She was so sweet! As the musical played in the Second World War, there were huge flags with the sign of Hitler: the swastika. Christina and i gasped because we’ve never seen it like this. In Europe you never could have shown it like this, it was quite impressing! After the musical, we went to a bar for a drink before we went home…

On Saturday, I went hiking in the hills around Wellington with Jürg and Marcita. Normally, I don’t like hiking at all, but in New Zealand, it’s different…the forests are much nicer because there are palms in it and the views are gorgeous! You can see it in the pictures. In the evening, I went out with some friends from school…we went in an Irish pub called “Molly Malones” and there was a very good live band playing

Today, i slept in and at 10am, we went hiking again; this time on another hill. There were huge sheep farms and on the ground, there were lying bones and skeletons of dead sheep. This is because there are too many sheep for the farmers to take care of and nobody notices when a sheep is sick. After the hike, I went to the city where I met up with Christina on the water front of Wellington. We were eating ice cream when suddenly a little blue penguin came out of the water. It was so tiny and cute! I was just in time to take a picture

The weather at the weekend was great. The sun was always shining and for a change, there was almost no wind. We even had dinner in the garden in shorts and t-shirts without getting cold. I hope the weather will stay like this, it’s so nice to be outside when the wind is not blowing that much.

Thea and I booked our accomondation for Australia on Friday: We will stay in Sydney for 5 nights, then we’ll take the night train to Melbourne where we will be for 4 nights. Isn’t this great? I’m really looking forward to this trip: the two biggest cities of Australia! And the best thing is that I can go Whale Watching in Sydney! Maybe I will be luckier than last weekend :). On the 25th of December, we will take a plane from Melbourne to Sydney and later from Sydney back to Wellington =).

I also booked a flight to Nelson for a weekend when Lukas will be here. Nelson is on the top of the south island (Wellington is at the bottom of the north island). The flight is only 30 minutes whereas the ferry would be about 6 hours. We will fly there on Friday evening and come back on Sunday evening; a very nice weekend trip! I’m really looking forward to showing Lukas this nice country and especially Nelson which must be beautiful as it’s the beach paradise of New Zealand

Hi friends, family, boyfriend, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and acquaintances!

I hope you are all fine and you are having a good time!

My last weekend was great! On Friday, I decided to go running every second day because I felt a bit unfit as I haven’t done any sports for the last three weeks. It was very nice because I can run along the coast and when the sun sets, the atmosphere is great. On Saturday, I had to get up at 6pm to get to the airport. Our plane to Christchurch left at 8.30pm and due to very strong wind, the flight was quite bumpy. After having landed safely, Jürg and Marcita showed me around Christchurch. The city is very sleepy and there is not that much going on even though it’s public school holiday. After a few hours, we had seen everything and went on to Cheviot where we had dinner and slept in a backpackers. It was great as I had a room for myself; there were no other people staying there. On Sunday, we got up at 5.30pm to drive to Kaikoura only to find the Whale Watching cancelled due to bad weather. I was very disappointed because it was the thing I was looking forward the most. We were driving through Kaikoura looking for another Whale Watching but there was nothing to do. At least, I saw some whales and dolphins from the coast which is better than nothing. When I still have enough money in some weeks, I might fly to Kaikoura again on a sunny day. Anyway, we hit the road to go to Pickton and on the way, we saw come colonies of seals. We observed them and on land, they are very clumsy, whereas in the water, they are quite elegant. We also saw a dead penguin; I’m still waiting to see a living one :-). I saw a lot of the south island while driving along the coast…the landscape is beautiful; there are huge sheep farms, nice beaches and a few nice little cities. But I decided that Wellington is still the best one because there is much more going on. In Pickton, we took the ferry back to Wellington. On the whole, the south island is beautiful!

Today was a very bad day. There was a big thunder storm at night which prevented me from sleeping and in the morning, Jürg took me to the bus stop by car because walking is too dangerous when things of trees are flying around and the wind can be so strong that it can actually knock you off your feet. At school, it was pretty scary. Our classroom is on the 10th floor and the building was shaking because of the strong wind. In the evening, they said in the news that buildings in the city were moving up to 50cm. The wind was up to 169km/h. And the school itself was not better. I thought that the level of the course was getting higher but this is obviously not the case. One of the books I ordered 3 weeks ago arrived and after trying some of the exercises, I realised that it is much more difficult than what we are doing in class which must still be First-level. And as if this was not enough, 3 new students were put in our class which is supposed to be a closed class for the exam preparation. All of them will only stay some weeks without taking any exam and the worst thing is that our teacher repeats all the things for them. It’s so bad…I thought we were starting to do something which will actually help us to pass the exam and now there are other students coming and going which takes so much time we would need to do something reasonable. I talked to the manager of the school today to tell her what’s my problem (not only mine, but also all the other’s). She wasn’t that happy about it because New Zealand people are not used to criticism but she will look what she can do…

And now I have to tell you something I am very excited about: In three weeks, there will be a long weekend because there will be a public holiday on Monday. On this weekend, we will go to the rainforest and guess what? We will be camping INSIDE the rainforest! Doesn’t that sound great? I will go with my host parents and if it’s possible, Christina will come with us as well. I am really looking forward to this weekend!

Hello my dears!!

I hope you are all well and enjoy whatever you are doing!

Last Wednesday in the speaking class, the subject was Global Warming and I said to Susan, my teacher, that I know a movie which is based on this subject: “Day after tomorrow” and on Thursday in the afternoon we watched it. It was also the birthday of a German woman and that’s why we had a big chocolate cake and champagne. Mmmh!

On Saturday, I invited Christina (Switzerland), Thea (Germany) and Aki (Japan) to my house, because Jürg and Marcita went skiing again. It was so funny…first, we played very loud music (nobody is around here, so it’s no problem) and for dinner, Christina and I cooked Älplermagrone for Thea and Aki and they loved it. Afterwards we watched DVD: The Wizard of Oz…very strange film, I didn’t like it that much, because in my opinion, there was a bit too much “i love you” and “there is no place like home”. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, we changed from winter to summer time which means that an hour has been captured. That was one of the reasons why on Sunday, I slept until 12 o’clock. It was the first beautiful day…it was like summer! The sun was shining, the birds were singing and children were swimming in the sea. Instead of going to the cinema, like we had planned, Christina and I went uphill with the cable car to the botanic garden. It was so nice! It was like in a rainforest and everything was full of flowers in all different colours! There was also the Spring Festival which means that a live band was playing. Instead of taking the cable car back down, we walked down which only took us about 30 minutes.

And there is another thing to tell you: I booked a flight to Sydney. After taking my CAE-exam on the 9th and 10th of December, i will fly to Sydney on the 15th of December…i will stay there for 10 days with Thea and fly back on the 25th of December. We will be in Sydney itsself for 5 days and 5 days we will travel around to hunter’s valley and whatever is worth to visit. I’m really looking forward to this trip!

Next weekend, I, Jürg and Marcita will fly to the south island. On Saturday, we will be in Christchurch and on Sunday, we will be in Kaikoura where we can do Whale Watching. The only problem is that it is very difficult to find an accomondation because it’s public school holidays and most of the backpackers and hotels are sold out. I hope we will find something because the Whale Watching starts at 7.15am and therefore it would be good if we found something very close. On Sunday we will go back to Wellington by ferry which will be great as well because there is a possibility to see dolphins. They like riding in the waves of the ferry. I hope I will be lucky next weekend :-).

Today my third week at school has started and now the way of teaching starts getting better. I like the school and I like the people there. All the cultures are completely mixed up and this is very interesting…every day I learn something more about the moslems and the buddhists. The Japanese culture, for example, is very strange: they are quite superstitious. They are not allowed to play a musical instrument at night because otherwise they belive the snakes will come. And when they cut their finger nails at night they belive that they won’t watch their parents die which is very important for them. Very strange…

I will take a shower now and then I will go to bed. Have a nice day over there!

Now another weekend is almost over and it has been even more spectacular than the last one.. On Friday evening, I went out with some friends from school and i noticed that the people here start drinking at home because when I took the bus to Wellington, two guys threw up next to me. In Wellington, I met the others at Courtaney Place and we went to a club where a quite good ska-band was playing but after drinking some wodka, i found out that alcohol makes me homesick..(I miss you so much my love!!)

Christina, a friend from school, lives in a flat in Brooklyn (a small town next to Wellington) with 6 persons from New Zealand and she told me it was disgusting because everything was dirty and humid so I invited her on Saturday to my clean and luxury house because Jürg and Marcita went skiing again. First we took a bath in the whirlpool for more than an hour and when we returned to the house again, Christina went to the toilet upstairs and I went downstairs and suddenly I heard her screaming. I went upstairs to find out what was going on and there was water everywhere! The whole floor was overflowed and the water kept on running out of the toilet. Then Christina pushed the flush buttom again and it stopped. We were cleaning for more than an hour because the water dropped downstairs trough the ceiling. Oh my god! When everything was dry, I sent an E-Mail to Jürg to tell him what had happened and he said it was lucky that we noticed in time and we prevented the damage from them :). After this schock, we cooked dinner, baked a chocolate cake and watched DVD :-).

Today, on Sunday, I went to Wellington to meet Christina and Ben and it was so windy, I was almost blown away :-). We didn’t know what to do and then we went to the Tattoo museum. It was so ugly, there were pictures of people who have tattoos all over their bodys and faces! That comes from the Maoris (original inhabitants from New Zealand), the men must tattoo their faces, otherwise they are not real men.

I found out that in New Zealand, everybody wants to be something special or even a freak. There are quite a lot persons who walk in the city with their bare feet (the average temperature here is about 12 degrees) and there are lots of punk women, they look quite funny =).

The school is good and you learn a lot and very quickly but it’s not really a preparation for the CAE. The teacher just writes words and phrasel verbs on the blackboard, but there is no structure in it and there is no way I can find out where I’m standing and what my problems are. So Christina and I went to EVERY book store in Wellington to look for a countdown book to the Advanced Certificate and only one of them sells books to learn a foreign language. But they didn’t have what we were looking for and so they have to order it from Europe. That takes them 3 weeks and it’s quite expensive but in this way I can prepare for myself.

So now I will eat my pinapple and then go to bed because I have to get up early tomorrow…have a nice Sunday and take care!

Hi there!

Today was my first school day and it was great. There are a lot of funny people. As you already know my orientation couldn’t be worse and so I took an early bus. Actually I was lost in the city looking on my map for the right street and fortunately I found it (but I think it will take at least a week until I get the right bus stop because the bus stops are not named and you have to press the stop button when you see where you have to get off).

At school, I first did the placement test and was put in the highest level (which is bad because if i had been worse, I would start school at 9.30 and now I start at 9). But my class is really funny. There are 7 people and 3 of them are Swiss people. But no worries, we didn’t speak one word in German, I don’t even know their dialects :-). One of them is called Ben and he’s from Zurich and the other one is Christina from Neuenkirch. I think, I will spend a lot of my free time with Christina because she said she needed help with homework and we already have plans for the weekend: we want to do sports, discover new places and have a bath in our wirlpool. So I won’t be alone at the weekend and that is the most important thing :-). Then there are two Japanese people: Aki (she is 29 years old and she’s very nice and funny and I think I will meet her too in my free time) and Hiro. And at last, there is Mariana from Brazil and I really don’t like her. She always laughs about her own joks (which are not funny at all). But you can’t like everyone so that’s ok. This is my morning class which is a preparation for my FAE exam. In the afternoon you can choose between writing and speaking/listening. I took speaking/listening because I was not that good at them in my FIRST exam and it’s more relaxing than writing. We talked about our childhood and about free time and then we did some listening. In the afternoon class, there are other people than in the morning and they are all quite nice.

The teachers are also very funny and I like them. There is Amanda and Susan and they are both kiwis which means that they grew up in New Zealand.

Once again, I’m the youngest from the whole school. They are all between 20 and 30 years old but it doesn’t make any difference. It is very easy to make friends here. I told Christina that I found a Karaoke Bar and we decided to go there together (nobody knows me here so I won’t blame myself :-))

als ich diese nummer zum ersten mal auf einer club-anlage gehört habe konnte ich nicht anders als den dj wie ein kleines kind bitten mir die track ID zu geben.

und jetzt ist es in der playlist “alltime favorites”. hört sich an wie zwei tracks ineinander gemischt, die bassline mag für heutige standards etwas hölzern, nicht rund oder fett genug klingen, aber wen interessiert das?

... oder auch unter dem Stichwort “Bürgerplattform” bekannt. Am Wochenende war ich auf .einem Seminar für “Community Organizing” und bin recht begeistert zurückgekommen. Besonders gefallen hat mir die Mischung von den unterschiedlichsten Leuten, von links bis rechts und quer durch alle Religionen und Rassen. Und alle waren nett!

Erfolgreiche Vorbilder von Community Organizing gibt es in den USA und in anderen Ländern seit vielen Jahrzehnten. Aber auch hier in Deutschland gibt es bereits erfolgreiche Beispiele, wie zum Beispiel der Erfolg der Bürgerplattform in Schöneweide, eine Fachhochschule in einer “Industriebrache” anzusiedeln. (Siehe u.a. den Artikel in der Berliner Morgenpost)
In vielen anderen deutschen Städten wie z.B. in Hamburg sind solche Bürgerplattformen am Entstehen. Sie bieten eine Alternative zu Intitiativen, Parteien, Vereinen und sonstigen bekannten Formen, wie man sich in die Gesellschaft einbringen kann. Ein neutraler Organizer begleitet den Prozess, wie verschiedene Gruppen innerhalb eines Gebietes zusammenwachsen, sich ein gemeinsames Ziel erarbeiten und dies durch Aktionen einfordern bzw. umsetzen.

Am meisten hat mich ein Beispiel aus Brooklyn beeindruckt, wo es Bürger mit gemeinsamen Aktionen geschafft haben, in ihrer Umgebung das Waren- und Lebensmittelangebot in Supermärkten (das wohl weit unter den Standards in besseren Gebieten war) deutlich zu verbessern.

In den nächsten Monaten darf ich in Wedding miterleben, wie eine solche Bürgerplattform für Wedding und Moabit aufgebaut wird. Ich bin schon echt gespannt, was am Ende des Meinungsbidlungprozesses steht und welches Projekt als erstes angegangen wird. Dabei sind Moscheen, soziale Vereine, Unternehmen, “Normalos”und Gemeinden quer durch alle Kulturen in Wedding. In vier Treffen mit je 100 Personen werden die Themen, für die sich auch jeder einsetzen möchte, erarbeitet. Jede Gruppe bringt 10 Vertreter zu diesen Veranstaltungen. Spannend!

Ich werde über diese Treffen in weiteren Artikeln berichten und auch mehr zum Hintergrund von “Community Organizing” bringen.

Am 26.05.2008 kamen mehr als 130 Anwohner in die Kirche Groß Dölln. um das Thema “VerträgtBrandenburg Village eine ständige Renn- oder Teststrecke” zu diskutieren. Die Investoren erschienen nicht und hatten dem eingeladenen Vorstandsvorsitzenden der Flugplatzverwaltungs - AG ein Kommen nicht gestattet. Neben Herrn Bürgermeister Schöneich waren zahlreiche Abgeordnete des Stadtparlamentes anwesend.

In den Redebeiträgen kam die überwiegende Mehrheit zu dem Schluss, dass die Genehmigung einer “ständigen Renn-oder Teststrecke alle Bemühungen “Brandenburg Village” zu errichten, zunichte macht, die Anwohner von Lärm in unerträglichen Maße bedroht werden, geschaffene Arbeitsplätze in vielen Branchen zerstört werden und der Wert der Grundstücke deutlich verliert.

Sowohl Herr Bürgermeister Schöneich als auch Ortsbürgermeister von Groß Dölln, Herr Jahns, stellten heraus, dass sie eine Renn- oder Teststrecke nicht befürworten.
Umso verwunderlicher ist es, dass die Stadtverwaltung gegenüber dem Landesumweltamt bereits eine “eingeschränkte Zustimmung” zum Antrag des Driving Centers abgegeben hat.

Von den anwesenden Fraktionsvorsitzenden und den Abgeordneten wurde vom Rederecht leider kein Gebrauch gemacht…..

Im Ergebnis der Diskussion wurde Herr Bürgermeister Schöneich aufgefordert:
- seine “eingeschränkte Zustimmung zurück zu nehmen
- die Stadtverordneten rechtzeitig zu einzubeziehen und sie zu informieren, welche Schritte die Verwaltung bezüglich des Gesamtkonzeptes unternimmt
und
- die Errichtung einer Renn- oder Teststrecke ist unbedingt in die Bauleitplanung für das gesamte Areal einzubeziehen, d.h. alle Planungen müsssen die küntige Wohnbebauung (Hotel, Villen) und Golfplätze miteinbeziehen.

Die Bürgerinitiative “Schorfheide” e.V. wird alle rechtlichen Möglichkeiten ausschöpfen, die “Erweiterung und den Betrieb einer ständigen Renn- oder Teststrecke” auf dem Flugplatzgelände zu verhindern.

Nutzen auch Sie durch Ihre Einwendungen, Ihren Rechtsanspruch zu
wahren.
Ohne Einwendungen später auch kein Anspruch!!!!

Auffallend bei dieser Planung ist, “Brandenburg Village” kommt mit keinem Wort vor!

Neue Arbeitsplätze sind auch nicht in der Planung enthalten.

Am 22.02.08 fand eine sogenannte Fachbehördenkonferenz im Hotel Döllnsee statt, auf der das Projekt “Brandenburg Village” vorgestellt wurde. Das Projektmanagement unterliegt der GMBH Falkenstein aus 88326 Aulendorf.

Im folgenden möchten wir Ihnen einige ausgewählte Schwerpunkte des Projekts vorstellen und dabei auf Probleme hinweisen, die sich unserer Ansicht nach als markante Widersprüche aus dem Sammelsurium von Vorhaben ergeben.

Wir werden also versuchen, dieses Projekt fortlaufend auf unserer Seite zu begleiten.

Die Nutzungsbereiche sollen wie folgt bewirtschaftet und verändert werden.

Einmal abgesehen von den sich total widersprechenden Nutzerinteressen (großer Lärm und exklusive Erholung auf engstem Raum), besteht auch das Problem FFH -und Naturschutzgebiete in den Nutzungsbereichen 4, 7 und 8 ohne Gesetzesverletzungen in dieses Konzept einzubinden. Wenn die Investoren und Planer es aber ernst meinen mit ihrer “Schönen neuen Welt”, dann sind dies aber genau die Kerngebiete ihres Anliegens!

Wir können nur hoffen, dass die genehmigenden Behörden und Abgeordneten nicht wieder einmal einem “Brandenburger Großinvestor und Retter aus der Not” ohne gründliche Abwegung ALLER Belange übereilte Zusagen machen.

Ein erster Versuch die ganze Planung zu relativieren wird schon unternommen.

So sollen die “Luxusplanungen “erst einmal als ein Extrablock abgetrennt werden, um all die Lärmprojekte beschleunigt vorziehen zu können, siehe “ständige Renn- und Teststrecke”. Vielleicht ist dieses exklusive Wohngebiet aber auch nur die bunte Verpackung, um einen bedenklichen Inhalt begehrenswert zu machen.

Stellen Sie sich vor: Ihr Vater stirbt und Sie haben die Chance, die letzte Stunde seines Lebens mit ihm zu verbringen. Was erwartet Sie wohl? Die Vergangenheit, die erlebten Schmerzen oder vielleicht die schönen Momente? Reden, Schweigen? Oder herrscht der Schmerz vor, jetzt in der Gegenwart loslassen zu müssen? Werden diese Momente auch von Hoffnung und Gedanken an die Zukunft bestimmt sein?

Sicherlich wird sich in der Stunde des eigenen Todes zeigen, in welcher Haltung wir unser Leben gelebt haben. Ein Philosoph hat einmal gesagt: Ich konnte gut ohne Gott leben, aber jetzt kann ich nicht ohne ihn sterben.

Ein sehr eindrückliches Beispiel eines Abschieds vom Leben finden wir bei Jakob, der zum Abschied für jedes seiner Kinder einen prophetischen Segen ausspricht. Wir erleben Jakob in dieser Stunde als jemanden, der im Leben mit Gott gereift ist und Gottes Stimme hören kann. So kann er in seinen letzten Momenten hier auf der Erde segnen und in die Zukunft blicken.

Seine Worte waren keine sentimentalen und frommen Wünsche eines alten Mannes, sondern sie waren vom Heiligen Geist inspirierte und wirklichkeitsformende Prophetien für seine Kinder.

Über Joseph spricht er den folgenden Segen aus, den wir in 1. Mose 49, 22-26 lesen können:

Ein junger Fruchtbaum ist Josef, ein junger Fruchtbaum an der Quelle; seine Zweige ranken über die Mauer.

Und es reizen ihn die Bogenschützen und schießen und feinden ihn an; aber sein Bogen bleibt fest, und gelenkig sind die Arme seiner Hände, durch die Hände des Mächtigen Jakobs, von dort, dem Hirten, dem Stein Israels, von dem Gott deines Vaters - der helfe dir - und von Gott, dem Allmächtigen

– der segne dich mit Segnungen des Himmels droben, mit Segnungen der Tiefe, die unten liegt, mit Segnungen der Brüste und des Mutterleibes. Die Segnungen deines Vaters überragen die Segnungen der uralten Berge, das begehrenswerte Gut der ewigen Hügel.

Sie seien auf dem Haupt Josefs und auf dem Scheitel des Abgesonderten unter seinen Brüdern.

Drei Eigenschaften charakterisieren den Segen Josephs:

1. Er ist ein Fruchtbaum, der über seinen eingegrenzten Bereich hinaus Frucht bringt. Schön wird die Abhängigkeit des Fruchtbringens von der Quelle dargestellt. Gott kann sein Werk durch ihn ausführen.
2. Er ist ein Kämpfer und ein Bogenschütze, der in Abhängigkeit von Gott, den Angriffen des Feindes, dem Meister der Pfeile wie es hier wörtlich heißt, widersteht. Er kann diesen Angriffen widerstehen, weil er das Wesen Gottes als Hirte, als Fundament Israels und als ewig Mächtigen auf intime Art und Weise kennen gelernt hat.
3. Er ist ein Abgesonderter (wörtlich ein Nasiräer), der sein Leben Gott völlig geweiht hat und der manchen Dingen, nach denen man sonst streben könnte, nicht nachgeht, um sein Leben Gott hinzugeben. Gemeint sind damit nicht angenehme Umstände und eine Abstinenz von allem, was Freude macht. Nein, Joseph wird im Segen ja ausdrücklich materieller Wohlstand zugesagt. Es geht darum, Abstand von Sünde, d.h. von Dingen, die einen von Gott trennen - zu nehmen.

Ich wünsche uns allen, dass wir Gott in unserem Alltag auf eine solche Art und Weise kennen lernen, dass wir wie Jakob Menschen, die uns nahe stehen, solche Worte für ihren zukünftigen Lebensweg mitgeben können, wenn unsere eigene Zeit hier abgelaufen sein wird.

Ein Weg dazu, Gott besser kennen zu lernen, wird in dem Segen für Joseph beschrieben:

Wir weihen in einer Entscheidung bewusst unser Leben dem Leben mit Gott und enthalten uns einem sündigen Lebenswandel, wir nehmen den Kampf des Lebens an und machen uns dabei von Gott auf positive Art und Weise abhängig.

Immer wieder werde ich gefragt, warum meine Website und mein Blog den Titel trägt:

“Vorsicht: Persönlichkeitsentwicklung !”

Zum einen hat das natürlich marketingtechnische Gründe. Immer wenn man Menschen vor etwas warnt, glauben Sie es erst mal nicht und werden erst recht neugierig.
(Sage einem einem Menschen, dass sich eine Billion Sterne am Firmament befinden und er glaubt dir. Sage ihm, die Parkbank ist frisch gestrichen und er muß sie anfassen um dir zu glauben. - Mario Puzzo )

Aus dem selben Grund haben ja auch die Warnhinweise auf Zigarettenpackungen keine - oder eher gegenteilige - Wirkung. Interessanter Gedanke: Wenn aber jetzt auf den Dosen für Katzen- oder Hundefutter der Hinweis stünde: “Vorsicht: dieses Futter kann für Ihr Tier zu einem langen und schmerzhaften Tod führen.” Was würde der verunsicherte Käufer tun?

Aber, ich schweife ab.

Persönlichkeitsentwicklung ist nichts für Feiglinge, weil Sie zwangläufig zur Veränderung führt. Das hat natürlich etliche Vorteile. Vor allem, dass es die Anzahl der Wahlmöglichkeiten erhöht.

Denn jedes Verhalten, das wir Menschen in einer beliebigen Situation zeigen, ist ja für uns immer die beste Wahl.

• Also wenn Sie Ihr Auto ins Halteverbot stellen, bei der Rückkehr einen Strafzettel vorfinden - und sich dann tierisch aufregen (”Hat denn die Polizei nichts Wichtigeres zu tun als …?”
• Oder wenn Ihr Chef Sie fragt, ob Sie morgen Überstunden bis 22 Uhr machen können - und Sie einen wichtigen Elternabend Ihres schulschwachen Sohnes vortäuschen.
• Oder wenn ein Islamist sich und andere Menschen in die Luft sprengt.
• Oder wenn Politiker vor einer Wahl zehnmal versprechen, mit einer Partei nicht zu koalieren und es dann hinterher doch erwägen.
• Oder wenn US-Präsident Bush …

Noch einmal: Jedes Verhalten, das ein Mensch zeigt, ist die beste Wahl aus seinen ihm in diesem Moment zur Verfügung stehenden Wahlmöglichkeiten. Nicht dass es nicht andere, “bessere” Möglichkeiten gäbe - aber nach der individuellen Kosten-Nutzen-Rechnung dieses Menschen - eben nicht.

• Der Autofahrer könnte sich sein Fehlverhalten eingestehen und darüber enttäuscht sein, dass er seine Wette (”Werde ich erwischt oder nicht?”) verloren hat.
• Der Mitarbeiter könnte seinem Chef einfach sagen, dass er zwar Zeit hätte aber lieber seinen Feierabend genießen möchte.
• Der Islamist könnte sich damit auseinandersetzen, dass es im Leben selten gerecht zu geht und zweiundsiebzig Jungfrauen auch anstrengend werden können.
• Der Politiker könnte einfach sagen, dass habe er/sie vor der Wahl nur gesagt, um seine/ihre Wahlchancen zu erhöhen.
• Oder ein US-Präsident könnte sich bewusst machen, … (Nein, das kann er einfach nicht, tut mir leid.)

Persönlichkeitsentwicklung führt zu mehr Verhaltensalternativen, weil man beginnt, die wahren Ursachen und Motive seines Handelns zu ergründen, besser zu verstehen und sich damit auseinandersetzt. Das ist zuweilen harte Arbeit, die einen auch emotional ziemlich fordern kann. Aber es lohnt sich!

Denn es ist auch die Chance, aus kindlichen Prägungen und pubertären Verhaltensstrategien auszusteigen, einfach weil man überhaupt erkannt hat, dass man drinsteckte. Denn wir alle (ich auch) sind von solchen “Programmierungen” oder Einflüssen aus unserer Biografie stark beeinflusst.

Aber wie alles im Leben hat auch Persönlichkeitsentwicklung - und die damit einhergehenden positiven Veränderungen - ihre Preis. Deshalb hier zehn Warnungen, warum

1. Vorsicht: Sie werden mehr Selbstverantwortung übernehmen.
   Das kostet Sie die Möglichkeit, für etwas was schief lief, ganz schnell anderen (oder den Umständen) die Schuld zuzuschieben. (”Ich sage nicht, dass es Ihr Fehler war. Ich sage nur, ich mache sie dafür verantwortlich”) Mit anderen Worten, eine Karriere als Politiker wird unter Umständen schwierig.
   Auf der anderen Seite lernen Sie, sich einerseits besser gegen Schuldzuweisungen anderer abgrenzen zu können. Auf der anderen Seiten haben Sie weniger Angst, ihren eigenen Anteil zu entdecken, wenn etwas schief gegangen ist. Und Sie bekommen auch mehr Vertrauen in ihre eigene Kreativität und Handlungsfähigkeit, weil Sie Ihre Ängste besser kennen und angemessen damit umgehen können.
2. Vorsicht: Sie werden toleranter gegenüber anderen werden.
   Persönlichkeitsentwicklung beinhaltet auch immer eine Auseinandersetzung mit der eigenen Biografie. Wer sich daran erinnern kann, wie er als Kind oder als Jugendlicher war, hat die Chance, auch seinen eigenen (oder fremden) Kindern gegenüber nachsichtiger zu sein.
   Wer sich besser in all seinen Facetten kennenlernt, muss aggressive, neidische oder arrogante Anteile weniger auf andere Personen projizieren, weil er eben dies auch bei sich selbst kennt - und die Angst dahinter besser annehmen kann.
3. Vorsicht: Sie werden spüren, dass Ihr Leben begrenzt und zerbrechlich ist.
   Um erfolgreich zu sein, bedarf es oft eines gehörigen Maßes an Selbstentfremdung. Einfach um über viele Jahre Anstrengung, Stress und Frustrationen wegstecken zu können - und dabei noch gut zu funktionieren. Die gleichzeitig vorhandene Sehnsucht nach Lebendigkeit, Lust und einem unabhängigen Leben muss dann oft abgespalten und verdrängt werden - auf irgendwann später.Doch spätestens in einer heftigen Krise, ausgelöst durch geplatzte Karriereträume, eine Scheidung oder eine Krankheit spürt man, dass sich das Leben nicht um unsere Zehn-Jahres-Pläne schert. Wir realisieren, dass das Leben nur “jetzt und hier” wirklich real ist. Wir realisieren, dass sich das Leben nicht aufschieben oder nachholen lässt.
4. Vorsicht: Sie werden entdecken, dass Ihr Partner auch recht hat.
   In jeder längeren intensiven Liebesbeziehung kann man sich nicht verstecken. Der andere sieht uns Tag für Tag, wie wir wirklich sind. Nicht nur in Unterhosen oder ungeschminkt. Er kriegt auch mit, wie wir in Konflikten reagieren, womit wir am meisten Zeit verbringen und was wir vor anderen Menschen zu verstecken suchen.
   Meist in Streits erfahren wir von unserem Partner, was er/sie über uns und unser Verhalten denkt. Das ist zumeist nicht die Wahrheit, denn unser Partner sieht uns auch durch die Brille seiner Erwartungen und Bedürfnisse. Aber: aus meiner Erfahrung als langjähriger Ehemann und Paartherapeut weiß ich: es ist immer was dran.
   Um nun zu unterscheiden, wieviel von dem stimmt, was der andere uns spiegelt, ist es wichtig, sich selbst genügend zu kennen. Kenne ich mich zu wenig, werde ich automatisch das, was der andere mir sagt und was mit meinem Selbstbild nicht übereinstimmt, heftig abwehren müssen. Kenne ich das, was der andere mir sagt, ist es zwar immer noch unangenehm, aber ich muss es nicht mehr so stark - beim anderen - bekämpfen.
5. Vorsicht: Sie werden etwas misstrauischer gegenüber Religionen und obskuren Heilslehren.
   Wer sich ernsthaft mit sich selbst auseinandersetzt, entdeckt, dass die eigene Psyche nicht ein abgeschlossenes, festes Ding ist, sondern bestenfalls eine Sammlung von unterschiedlichsten Antrieben, Motiven, Werten, Bedürfnissen, Gefühlen, Meinungen etc. Die sich zudem noch ständig ändern können.Das widerspricht natürlich völlig dem Wunschbild einer festen Persönlichkeit, das die meisten von uns haben. Vor allem mit den sogenannten bösen oder schlechten Teilen oder Trieben in sich versöhnen wir uns erst mal schwer fallen. Deshalb braucht es bei den meisten Menschen jemanden oder etwas, auf den oder das man diese schlechten und bösen Teile projizieren kann. Das ist ungeheuer praktisch, seelisch entlastend und - wenn man zur “richtigen” Gruppe gehört - auch sehr verbindend.
   Fast alle Religionen bedienen sich dieses Mechanismus. Auch alle politische Parteien - in jedem Land - tun dies. Aber auch weniger wichtige Gruppen wie der ADAC oder der Verein gegen betrügerisches Einschenken. Wer sich selbst besser kennt, weiß um die Bedeutung von Über-Ich-Anteilen, und kann sehen, wie sehr moralische Wertungen von der entsprechenden Rolle, der jeweiligen Kultur und der jeweiligen Absicht abhängen.
6. Vorsicht: Sie werden vielleicht ihren Frieden mit ihren Eltern machen.
   Manche Menschen brauchen ja zur Bewältigung des Lebens (oder der eigenen Ängste davor) unbedingt ein verlässliches Feindbild. Bei meinen Eltern - und in der Nachkriegszeit - war das noch “der Russe!”.
   Mittlerweile wurde der abgelöst durch “die Chinesen”, “die Linke” oder den “islamistischen Terror”
   Aber für viele Menschen sind das in erster Linie auch die eigenen Eltern. Der Vater, der immer zuviel trank und dann prügelte oder der Vater, der seinen gnadenlosen Ehrgeiz auch auf seine Kinder übertrug. Oder die überfürsorgliche-kontrollierende Mutter, die dem erwachsenen Sohn noch vorhält, dass er nie mit Geld umgehen konnte. Wie hier Dieter Nuhr leidvoll zu berichten weiß: Seinen Frieden machen heißt nicht, die Eltern zu idealisieren (”Ich hatte eine glückliche Kindheit.”) oder erlittene Situationen zu rationalisieren (”Meine Eltern wussten es nicht besser.”). Vielmehr geht es darum, die Eltern so realistisch wie möglich zu sehen. Das ist einem als Kind aufgrund der Abhängigkeit schwer möglich. Und als Erwachsener verwandeln sich die meisten Menschen schon nach einer Stunde des Zusammenseins mit ihren Eltern wieder in das gehorsame Kind oder den rebellierenden Vierzehnjährigen von damals. (Bei manchen reicht für diese Wandlung auch schon ein zweiminütiges Telefonat.)
