A famous blockbuster hollywood movie released on 1998, starring Bruce Willis, featuring as a deep core driller, sent to space and drill into the surface of the doomsday asteroid that was on collision course with the earth, to plant and detonate a nuclear weapon to split the asteroid into two halves. 

Even-though the movie depicts a high tech masala, the ideology of deflecting the course of asteroids and avoiding the catastrophical collision on the earth by using technology is still on course.  The Association of space explorers, an international group of astronomers and cosmonauts released a recent report Asteroid Threat: A call for Global Response, urging UN/International Institutions to appoint a governing body to identify the Near Earth Object(NEO) asteroids, pinpoint the exact location of the impact,predict the potential devastation, issue warnings of mass evacuation to the city or country under threat, deploy technology and devise plans to deflect the path of the asteroid,funding and assigning the job to specific space agency,point finger for accepting liabilities due to failure in technology or wrong predictions. Whether such a governing body will be formed in-spite of the political, technological and economical risks associated with this - an impossible dream or distant reality, only timeline can answer.

The million dollar question is “What is the technology used to deflect the path of the NEOs?” - Is that same as Hollywood Drama by Bruce Willis?

The strategy for such a technology, conceived during a study carried in 2005 by Ed Lu and Stan Love, both astronauts and founders of B612 Foundation, and published in the November edition of Nature. In order to analyze the performance of Gravity Tractor, a B612 contract was issued to JPL in 2008, to conduct a formal performance analysis.A detailed report, facts and figures can be obtained from B612 foundations website

The study shows that, even a weak gravitational pull from a near by space craft is sufficient to change the orbital path of asteroid, as big as 140 meters across, the size big enough to cause a regional devastation if it hit earth. The conceptual design becoming reality in the near future is the Gravity Tractor.

The asteroids or other foreign bodies when approaches the earth, gets attracted due to the earth’s gravitational pull and form new unstable orbital path,revolves around the earth and eventually crash on the earth’s surface.

In spite of  the vastness of the space, the foreign bodies were to pass through a small region of space called gravitational keyhole, which is a few hundred kilometers, so as to get pulled by earth’s gravity.

Even though the chances of a foreign body’s orbit path, fall in line with the keyhole is meagre, the use of a device like gravity tractor has to be deployed much advance in time, before the asteroid is nearing the keyhole. The gravity tractor weighing about 1 ton in weight is positioned about 155 meters away from the asteroid surface and exert a very gentle gravitational force, could alter the asteroid’s velocity by 0.22 microns/second per day. But on prolonged exposure of force on a long enough time scale, the course of the asteroid will be changed so that it is avoiding the keyhole entry and subsequent bashing on earth. The success of the gravity tractor is due to its precision of exerting the force on to the asteroid.

Suppose if the hypothetical orbit of the asteroid exists on a direct path to impact, then the use of gravity tractor alone cannot do the trick. Instead scientists proposed a second method called two-punch.

Initially a space craft is crashed directly to the asteroid, that would create a much change in asteroid’s orbital path, then the gravity tractor will be employed to move the asteroid away from the collision course.

Sounds interesting. The NEO threat in the nearest future may happen on a Easter Sunday, April 13, 2036, in the name of “Apophis”. The chances of Apophis hitting the earth is less than 1 in 45000. However, the Apophis will be in close encounters with earth on Friday, April 13, 2029 - 29,470 Kms from the earth, appearing to the naked eye as a moderately bright point of light moving rapidly across the sky.

NOTE: NASA’s collision probability calculation of 1 in 45000, is challenged by a 13 year old German student Nico Marquardt, as 1 in 450. His assumptions indicate that, when the Apophis is nearing earth on 2029, could hit any of the 40,000 Geosynchronous satellites positioned around a band of 30,000 Kms from the earth’s surface, causing its orbital path to drift and thereby increasing the possibility of hitting the earth on April 13,2036. Although NASA denied this estimations, the fate of the earth remains a mystery until 2013, by then space observers can predict the exact path of Apophis. 

My father’s thought on John Titor’s prophecy:

1. Obama win the US election;
2. White supremacist group assassinate Obama;
3. The assassin is caught but release, Africa American charge US government for conspiracy;
4. Some Black dominated States seeking independence from USA, Federal Court denies, those States taking up arms.

What a cheery bit of news, especially considering that will be during my (assumed) lifetime.

Sorry for all the Science Scary posts, but this is just what is making itself apparent in my life these days. I heard of John Titor the first time maybe three or four years ago and I have been very fascinated ever since. At first glance it appears absolutely ridiculous but the deeper you get into the information he left behind while he supposedly traveled here from 2036, the more intriguing the possibility of it all becomes. If you haven’t been following what is going on at CERN lately, I suggest you do yourself a favor and google CERN.

Oliver Williams who is a John Titor expert was recently on Coast to Coast and I believe there is a link to the interview on his website! Free? Perhaps. It is a great interview so I highly recommend it.

THE TIME TRAVEL TALE OF JOHN TITOR

Although there is debate over the exact date it started, on November 02, 2000, a person calling themselves Timetravel_0, and later John Titor, started posting on a public forum that he was a time traveler from the year 2036.

One of the first things he did was post pictures of his time machine and its operations manual. As the weeks went by, more and more people began questioning him about why he was here, the physics of time travel and his thoughts about our time. He also posted on other forums including the now non-existent Art Bell site. In his posts John Titor entertained, angered, frightened and even belittled those who engaged him in conversation.

On March 21, 2001, John Titor told us he would be leaving our and returning to 2036. After that, he was never heard from again. Speculation and investigation about who John Titor was and why he was online continues to this day.

Although it may be easy to dismiss all this as science fiction, most people who read his posts agree that there is something very haunting about John Titor and what he said. In addition, and open to more debate, he also made a series of predictions and comments that eerily seem to be coming true.

Unfortunately, I never spoke directly to John Titor but there are many out there who have and continue to wonder about their experience. As you get deeper and deeper into the story, you will find his posts, links to other sites about him, downloads and speculative information attributed to him after he left. I have taken the posts and organized them by date and subject. My editorial work is copyrighted but the unedited posts and the people who experienced it are in the public domain can be found on other sites listed inside.

As you read, please try to keep two things in mind:

1. John appeared to answer nearly every question that was asked of him over the 4-month period he was online. Because of that, many people neglected to read the previous posts and asked similar or exact questions he had already answered. It may offer a glimpse of what a time traveler goes through when having the same conversation again and again.

2. These posts were written before 911, the Discovery accident and the second gulf war. Many people believe John may have known of these events and dropped clues without actually referring to them. It’s also widely agreed that he made several predictions about future physics discoveries that have materialized as he stated.

Jotkut meistä muistavat kuinka joitakin vuosia sitten odotimme jännittyneitä Apophis-asteroidin radanmääritystä, kun ensimmäinen summittainen määritys antoi törmäystodennäköisyydeksi vuodelle 2029 jopa 1/37. Sittemmin tuo todennäköisyys on laskenut huomattavasti, sen ollessa tällä hetkellä 1/45 000 ja törmäyspäiväkin on muuttunut pääsiäissunnuntaihin vuonna 2036 (13.4.2036). Jotenkin raamatullinen tuo päivämäärä, eikös olekin.

NEOja (Near Earth Objects) tähystelevät taivaalta useat tahot, mm. USA:n armeija, mutta nyt viimeisimpänä ovat porukkaan liittyneet kiinalaiset, jotka ovat vuoden aikana löytäneet ja luetteloineet yli kolmesataa NEOa. NEO:t muodostavat todellisen uhkan, koska vielä toistaiseksi meillä ei ole valmiita menetelmiä torjua avaruudesta tulevaa uhkaa, vaikka se olisikin vain asteoroidi. Maan planetaarinen puolustusjärjestelmä saattanee joutua koetukselle ensimmäisen kerran noin 20 vuoden kuluttua, kun vuonna 2029 Apophis ohittaa Maan ja tämän ohituksen onnistumisesta riippuu mitä tapahtuu pääsiäissunnuntaina vuonna 2036.  Jos Apophikselta aiotaan suojautua, on sen rataa muutettava mahdollisimman varhaisessa vaiheessa, sillä asteroidin rataelementtien muuttamiseen vaadittava energia riippuu muutos nopeudesta. Jos rataelementeillä on seitsemän vuotta aikaa muuttua, voi kohtalaisen pienikin energia olla jo riittävä suistamaan Apophis uudelle radalleen. Uuden radan rataelementit ovatkin sitten jo toinen juttu ja voimmekin vain toivoa, etteivät ne johdattaisi asteroidia Maan kanssa törmäyskurssille.

Maahan on törmäillyt aikojen saatossa, jos jonkin moisia asteroideja ja komeettoja ja ne ovat aiheuttaneet sekä lokaaleja että globaaleja muutoksia, mutta nyttemmin on osoitettu, että ainakin yksi muutos, joka tavallisesti on pantu asteroidien piikkiin ei sitä välttämättä olekaan. Nimittäin, ei ole löydetty pitäviä todisteita, jotka tukisivat teoriaa mammutit ja muut suuret eläimet Amerikasta hävittäneestä tulipallosta. On olemassa todisteita, että mammuttien katoamisen tietämillä Maahan iskeytyi suurehko kappale, mutta se ei ehkä sittenkään linkity mammuttien katoamiseen.

Tegemist siis olukorraga, kus teadlased ei häma, vaid on avalikustanud võimaliku kokkupõrke aja. Ja nii et kui see 2029 peaks mingil põhjuse “mööda” minema, siis on järgmine võimalus 2036. Neid lähedalolevaid asteroide , kelle trajektoori võiks maaga lõikuda avastatakse sellisel hulgal ja nii mõnedki alles siis, kui nad juba “maast” on mööda liikunud. Ja nende avastamise raskus seisneb just nende läheduses. kaugumalolevaid objekte on lihtsam avastada.

See arv muutub (kasvab) koguaeg. Võiks ka küsida, et miks ei räägita neist , reaalselt ohtlikuks tunnistatud objektidest, küll aga lüüakse vahtu oletusi ja hüpoteese ? Piisab ühest mingist “kõrvalekaldest” orbiidis ja kohtumine leiabki aset. Spaceweather-i lehel on siis ka lähimad kohtumisobjektid äratoodud ja seal on koguaeg miskit aktiivset. Ehk on meil jäänudki ainult nädal !!! Ja kui 9. detsembri objekt ikkagi lendab nii nagu planeeritud, äkki siis järgmine päev Phaetoniga kohtumine on lõplik ?
Kui see jutt tekitab hirmu, võib selle rahulikul üle vasaku õla minema saata. Kõik mis hirmutab, lõhub välja. Nii inimese enda oma, kui ka Maa atmosfääri. Sest isegi siis kui peaks toimuma “rünnak” mingi taevase objekti poolt, siis sõltub kõik sellest, kui tugevaks osutub väli. Ja keegi ei saa kaitsta välja agressiooni eest, mis tuleb seestpoolt. Samas on teada, et suutes seestpoolt tekitada piisava kaitse, muutub inimene purunematuks ja eks samamoodi ole ka Maaga.
Nii et küsimus on see, et kuidas järelejäänud ajaga (keegi ei tea mis ajaühik see on ) luua iseennast selliseks, et hävingut lihtsalt ei toimuks. Hirm, äng, ärevus, süüdistamine, süütunnete tundmine, viha jne kahjuks meile ülesehitavas tegevuses abiks ei ole. Maailma hoiab koos ikka Armastus ja Tarkus. Ja selle allikas on igas inimeses. Kui see voolab oleme alati kaitstud, isegi siis kui kehad hävivad. Sest Tõeline mina pole ju need katted, mida ma siin loob,kasutab ja käsutab….Kuidas luua aga seda Armastuse ja Tarkuse voolust püsivat keha, mis võimaldaks teadvusel olla teadvel ka kehasid kaotades…..vat see on küsimus, millele on otsinud vastuseid väga paljud Targad ja leitud vastuseid üritatakse ka teistele jagada, millest on väljakasvanud Õpetused. oggi è sciopero e noi della 5b siamo a scuola!!!!.i motivi di questo sciopero per quello che ho capito io sono contro la riforma Fiorani.protestano contro l’esame di riparazione che secondo il governo dovrebbero essere recuperato a settembre e questo vorebbe dire che un ragazzo deve passare tutta l’estate a studiare e a fare corsi di recupero per superare i debiti cosa che secondo me non è tanto giusto perchè l’estate è corta e dopo 9 mesi di scuola, di tanto studio, di alzarsi presto, una persona dovrebbe riposarsi e l’unico periodo che può farlo è l’estate.secondo me non è giusto il fatto che ci tolgano l’estate per divertirci per “obbligarci” a studiare.IO SONO FAVOREVOLE A QUESTO SCIOPERO anche se alla fine a noi di quinta non ci riguarda.
