Our neighbor across the Pacific, the “great” United States, recently chose Barack Obama as their

Our neighbor across the Pacific, the “great” United States, recently chose Barack Obama as their 44th president. Our congratulations to the people of America for expressing their choice in quite a decisive manner. Obama, of course, still needs to prove himself to his electorate.

As for us here in these scattered islands, I don’t really know what is the significance of Obama’s election. Maybe we’ll have some of the usual financial aid given by the United States, or maybe we’ll have less of the military exercises among joint US-Philippine forces.

If there is one thing, however, that can be inferred from Obama’s victory, it is the fact that the American people were privileged to have a figure of hope, a new personality to depend on, unlike here in the Philippines where we still have no prospect of who will lead the country after the elections of 2010.

The most we can hope for is that a similar personality like Obama appears on the election stage before 2010, someone whom the Filipinos can pin their hopes on, and someone whom the Filipinos can trust to lead them well beyond the next decade.

If Obama performs greatly in his first two years, we would then envy the great white nation, and we would again scratch our heads in disgust over the question why no such leader appears in our lands. On the other hand, if Obama does not do well, we would just shrug our shoulders over the fact that great leaders today come as rare as a blue moon, in the world stage, and especially in this once noble land called the Philippines.

If Obama performs greatly in his first two years, he would then be widely acclaimed by the middle of his term, which will intersect with the presidential elections here in this country. If he does perform well, our envy may be so great, that with the lack of capable and inspiring leaders here, we would be forced to appeal to Mr. Barack Obama and ask him to resign from the United States Presidency, go back in time, reincarnate in the Philippines as a Filipino, and run for President of the Philippines in 2010.

With that, we may be able, at last, to get the change we need.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Of course, everything is still up in the air, and Obama’s performance will only be gauged by the end of his term, in which case, the American people will decide whether to extend his term, if he decides to run again in 2012. Everything will depend on the reality of the various theories and beliefs surrounding Obama’s personality and candidacy.

In the generally accepted theory, Obama is a strong, sincere leader that really advocates change. If this is the case, there is nothing to worry with America. It will simply do, under Obama, what is plainly common sense, such as having their troops recalled, not invading another sovereign country, and cooperating with other countries. In short, not messing up with others’ ass and just concentrating on one’s backyard.

In the Obama-terrorist-connection-conspiracy theory, Obama is a strong leader funded by terrorists, or funded by oil-rich Middle Eastern countries antagonistic to the United States. If this is the case, then America would have been hit by a real-life Trojan Horse, with their enemy coming not from the outside, but from their most central, basic, instrinsic part. In short, an enemy inside their very own heart. If this is the case, then we would expect the most catastrophic thing happening to America’s defense and security, economy, and territorial integrity, which may lead to the collapse of the once mighty superpower.

In the Obama-as-the Messiah-or-the-AntiChrist-theory, Obama is a strong, spiritually-powered leader, either by God or the devil, who has mesmerized America with a hypnotic trance, giving him a landslide victory. If this theory is true, then it will be no time before he conquers the world stage (his electrifying appearance in Germany was a prelude), makes himself the world leader, and declares himself as the Messiah (for evangelicals, this would mean that he is the AntiChrist).

These are theories, and I am not in anyway saying that one is true over the other. We can only know the answer in 2012, when Obama would already have been revealed as a great statesman, a George W. Bush clone, or a divine incarnation. However, continuing news of probable assassination plots against Obama early in his presidential career (while he is still president-elect at that) may prevent us, if one of these threats becomes successful, from getting the answer.

As for us here in this great land called the Philippines, we really don’t have any theories about our leaders, because we are still looking for theories on why we have remained poor and hungry through the years.

President-Elect Obama has yet to be sworn in, and already the GOP is setting their sights on 2012. S

President-Elect Obama has yet to be sworn in, and already the GOP is setting their sights on 2012. Sigh. Why am I not surprised? Huckabee, on a book tour, is traipsing around the hotly-contested states of America for publicity. (Especially in South Carolina, the primary where his presidential hopes went buh-bye. How curious…) The good ol’ guv from Alaska, Sarah Palin, has been staying fresh in citizen’s minds with slews of ridiculous television interviews, recycling the same stumps she used on the campaign trail. (I don’t know; maybe election results haven’t helped her realized that her formulaic speeches are not going to win a race. But that’s me.)

Another face in the GOP game is 37-year-old Bobby Jindal, current governor of Louisiana. First Indian-American governor, no sordid affairs or terribly provocative personal scandals. Wonderful. Okay, Bobby, you’re it for 2012!

Avi, over at The Media Affair, agrees:

Jindal is smart, fresh, substantive, and could have the best shot at breathing life into a Republican party that is, frankly, stagnant. He is the future of any Republican party that wins elections in the next decade.

That’s true, the boy’s got some creds. He graduated from Brown with honors in biology and public policy! He was accepted by Harvard Medical School and Yale Law School! He is a Rhodes Scholar! He’s young, he’s fresh!

I’d never vote for him. As Amardeep at Sepia Mutiny commented, “I just disagree with him too strongly … to let my sense of ethnic loyalty get the better of me.”

For me, a lot of it ties to his born-again Catholicism. (Read an excerpt from his exorcism experience.) I have no problem with people being religious; I have noticed, however, that it pervades politics way too much in America. (Speeches perpetually ending with excerpts from the Bible, groups targeting candidates based on their “religiousness.”) I feel Jindal will bring too much of his religious background into a hypothetical candidacy and alienate other groups in the United States. Also, Jindal in 2006:

I am 100 percent anti-abortion with no exceptions. I believe all life is precious.

No exceptions? No exceptions? Rape victims, danger to mother’s health? What about stem-cell research? His very hardline stance makes me very hesitant… yikes. I guess my main point is that Jindal is only going to represent a view of a small section of the nation. He is too polarizing.

There is another minor concern. Seth Colter Walls, in a blog for the HuffingtonPost during GOP VP-season captures this point well:

The fact that Jindal’s second-highest paid campaign staffer turned out to be an energy lobbyist might not be the best issue for a presidential candidate who is fighting a “perception problem” on the very same issue. Also, Jindal has agreed to pay a $2,500 fine in order to avoid an ethics hearing due to his failure to accurately report over $118,000 worth of in-kind contributions from the state GOP.

And my other concern is that it’s going to be a “because he is Indian, he is an Asian, I’m going to vote for him” craze, without considering his exact ideas. Sigh. (A bit like the, “I’ll vote for McCain because Palin is a woman” deal.)

In general, I’ve noticed that most of the possible GOP candidates in 2012 are more far-right then they have been in the past. Look at Huckabee, Palin, and Jindal, all potential runners in 2012.

America is currently described to have shifted to a “center-left” nation. Do you think enough will change in the next four years for the United States to become “center-right” again?

This is, according to established tradition, a spontaneous and unplanned recording, so don’t go breaking my balls thank you very much, all the more so since I do happen to live in a rather noisy house, and it was getting later and later, while people began sleeping more and more, and so I could afford to speak out louder, less and less.

Again, also according to established tradition, Leo does most of the talking, while I do the most listening, but I do manage to slip in a question (or two) every now and then LOL.

A hole plethora of issues are being discussed. Leo gives an update on his adventures in the US, and Dallas in particular where he will as vice-president preside over a soon to be built government sponsored, state of the arts Awakening Center, where people can go and learn all about Jesus and the Second Coming. The curtain is lifted regarding suspicions some people in conspiracy theory circles have surrounding Leo’s masonic pass which states Monte Carlo on the outside and Kirby Lodge on the inside.

Furthermore we talk about:

-how the Norwegian John Vaerseth and Leo are not exactly the best of friends;

-how his one time masonic mentor Julian Rees betrayed him;

-what the nature is of the Atlantis Bookshop in London and its relationship to the OTO, Satanism, Black Magic and Witchcraft;

-details regarding his masonic trial in Britain he was not able to attend;

-a article Leo has written on the Manifesto of the Rosicrucian Brotherhood in Britain, to be read here: http://www.illuminati-news.com/Articles/36.html ;

-the controversy surrounding Leo;

-Leo’s on-going disclosure-project regarding the many facets of the NWO, good and bad;

-the pending judgment of God on the world, its ensuing divine purge; technology of God;

-the ever pressing issue with the ever pernicious parasitic baddies ravaging the planet in general and the US in particular, them being the Vatican, the Jesuits and its allied Zionist faction and how Leo plans on how to deal with them;

-an upcoming Jesuit conference in the highly anticipated year 2012;

-Leo’s utilitarian connections to Italian fascism and the Mafia;

-why people should join Freemasonry;

-how to vindicate Jesus in front of the more traditionally skeptical portion of the Jewish community

-the coming confrontation in September between Leo and a bunch of so-called Christian leader in the US, among them Pat Robertson;

-why Leo Zagami should receive honorary doctorates and be called Dr Leo Zagami;

-the still running issue with Norway and its illustrious Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg;

-how the Mossad serves Leo rather than the Labour Zionists;

-Leo’s attitude towards his now separated wife Fatma Suslu;

-the same for the Muslim Mahdi Fethullah Gulen and why Harun Yahya is on Leo’s blacklist;

-that Leo does not work for the Jesuits and that if this latter group continues to leech from the US Leo will seek to ban them from its soil;

-how Dr Phil (i.e. the other one from television) cracked up and seems to be in need of a shrink himself and how Agent JJP will succeed Oprah Winfrey and how the old Fox Rupert Murdoch does not like Leo too much;

http://www.leozagami.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1

The media is trumpeting Obama’s need for a Clinton in his cabinet as evidence of a mature, intelligent, magnanimous unifier who wisely wants to reach out to former rivals.

This is utter hogwash.

Obama isn’t “reaching out” to Hillary out of the goodness of his heart and for the good of the country. This is a cold, calculated dagger aimed at the heart of Hillary and Bill Clinton — and more importantly — into their still unbossed, unbought, and quietly plotting constituency.

Obama and Axelrod know, unlike the media, that his victory was not due to a sweeping mandate. As has been reported, less voters than ever identify as liberals — his base. Moreover, the turnout increase this year was neglible, and Obama owes his victory to them multiple millions of Republican voters who inexplicably sat this one out. Had the GOP turned out this year like they did in 2004, Obama would have lost big, because he lost about 20% of Democrats.

Those Democrats are Hillarycrats – and they are still sharpening the knives for Obama.

By having her as his Secretary of State, she would be effectively neutralized. More importantly, he will shield himself from the criticism of Democrats who still distrust him and are itching to give him and Pelosi’s Congress trouble. These Democrats are poised to point out every broken campaign promise; they can’t wait to declare Obama Presidency a failure and start plotting Hillary’s 2012 or 2016 comeback.

By making Hillary Secretary of State, Obama will destroy the still undead Clinton wing of the party by essentially taking it over from the top.

For those who think this position is a perfect place for Hillary to flex her political and intellectual muscle, you’re wrong. The Secretary of State is a figurehead with no real decision-making power. The National Security Advisor has more power and the Chief of Staff has more influence.

This Hillary-at-State brouhaha is a naked attempt by Obama to annihilate the ambitions of his chief rival: she’ll be traipsing around the world following his marching orders, while he and Pelosi are running the nation into the ground. As an added bonus, he’ll be able to blame her for his foreign policy disasters. And the icing on cake will be that as the nation turns away from him in 2010, she won’t be able to challenge him, having chosen instead to go down with his ship.

It’s obvious what the Affirmative Action Bush is trying to do. It’s not worth the risk, Hillary. Hillary, don’t do it!

Famous for being famous! This election was amazing in that the things which were first said to hurt Obama - came back in the end to help defeat McCain - for example, Obama’s ability to attract large crowds - would go on to mean he would attract 200,000 plus in Germany - but rather than admit this was a great accomplishment (given Germany’s history) - Republicans chose to deride it - saying that Barack Obama was merely a celebrity - not to be taken seriously. Enter Sarah Palin, who for some really is a celebrity - who literally doesn’t know enough - to put together a concise argument on any number of critical issues - important to those seeking the highest office. Without substance Sarah Palin becomes famous for being famous - a celeb politician - who ‘ain’t in it for naught’.

She failed to save John McCain from presidential election doom, but Sarah Palin, the Republican senator’s controversial running mate, may yet emerge as the saviour of the American publishing industry. Literary agents are queueing up to sign her to a book deal that could earn her up to $7m.

With Barack Obama’s election victory certain to generate dozens of volumes from politicians, strategists and journalists – and with another shelfload of memoirs expected from members of President George W Bush’s administration – Palin’s personal account of her tumultuous introduction to national politics is widely regarded as the book most likely to repay a multi-million-dollar advance.

“She’s poised to make a ton of money,” said Howard Rubenstein, New York’s best-known public relations adviser.

“Every publisher and a lot of literary agents have been going after her,” added Jeff Klein of Folio Literary management.

Palin’s profile showed no sign of diminishing last week, despite McCain’s defeat and embittered Republicans seeking a scapegoat for the party’s collapse.

She now finds herself in a position similar to Obama’s in 2004, when the then mostly unknown Chicago politician delivered a mesmerising speech to the Democratic convention, was elected to the Senate and swiftly wrote a bestselling book – The Audacity of Hope. This proved to be the springboard for his presidential launch.

Like Obama, Palin has come from nowhere – in her case, Wasilla, Alaska. She is considered a likely candidate to move to Washington as Alaska’s senator if one of the state’s two seats falls vacant next year. Her book may reach a vast audience fascinated by her journey from the moose-hunting wastes of the Alaskan tundra to a historic battle for the White House.

Undaunted by her poll defeat, Palin was in fighting form last week, inviting cameras into her home, serving visiting interviewers home-cooked moose chilli and haddock and salmon casserole.

She scoffed at untrue reports that she initially thought Africa was a country and that she didn’t know members of the North American Free Trade Agreement. She said much of the criticism levelled at her came from “bloggers in their parents’ basements just talking garbage”.

At a sombre meeting of Republican governors later in the week, Palin’s megawatt celebrity far outshone her more experienced colleagues. Frank Luntz, a prominent Republican consultant, called her a “rock star”, but Tim Pawlenty, the governor of Minnesota, warned that she would be only “one of the voices” leading the party forward.

Yet there are already signs that conservative Republicans, thrilled by Palin’s right-wing views, are manoeuvring to keep her in the public eye with a view to the 2012 elections and beyond. One group, called Our Country Deserves Better, last week collected tens of thousands of dollars to pay for television advertisements to run over the forthcoming Thanksgiving holiday. The adverts are to thank Palin for her efforts.

Despite polling evidence that Palin failed to make much impact on any of the groups that McCain strategists hoped she might deliver – women, independent voters and suburbanites – her supporters insisted that she should not be blamed for either McCain’s shortcomings or the legacy of the Bush administration’s failures. Palin herself noted that in view of the Bush record, “it’s amazing we did as well as we did”.

Although anonymous McCain aides had variously described her as a “diva” and a “whack job” and Maureen Dowd of The New York Times derided her last week as “Eliza Know-little”, she has earned plaudits from a surprising range of friends and former foes for keeping her cool under fire.

Camille Paglia, the radical feminist, declared that she had “heartily enjoyed [Palin’s] arrival on the national stage”. She had been subjected to “an atrocious and sometimes delusional level of defamation”, Paglia added. “I can see how smart she is and, quite frankly, I think the people who don’t see it are the stupid ones.”

Joanne Bamberger, the liberal author of the popular PunditMom blog, praised Palin for not “fading into the Alaskan woodwork”, and added: “She’s got some serious chutzpah . . . Palin has taken charge of this moment . . . and she’s making the most of the notoriety that was offered her”.

With publishers as nervous as everyone else about next year’s economic prospects, Palin’s popularity has become a boon. “Nobody is waiting for George W Bush’s memoirs,” one New York agent noted.

In conversations with friends worried/excited about the prospect of a Palin-led GOP, I’ve repeatedly said that I’d be surprised if Palin were the 2012 Republican nominee. Why? If you haven’t noticed, Palin has been in the media’s eye almost nonstop since the election ended; she’s given speeches and interviews, and has been the subject of irresponsible speculation on part of the pundit class. In the short-term, this is undoubtedly beneficial; it raises her national profile, and gives her a base from which to start from if she decides to run for president. On the other hand however, she risks damaging her long-term prospects by letting the image of her as an airhead stand unchallenged.

Had Palin simply retired to Alaska, served another term or two as governor (after all, she’ll probably cruise to reelection), gained some policy expertise (it’s not that she’s stupid, just ignorant), and spent the next eight years slowly rebranding herself as a knowledgable reformer, she could have easily emerged in 2016 as formidable challenger to Obama’s Democratic heir. Instead, by staying in the limelight, Palin is on her way to ensuring that four or eight years from now, Americans will likely still see her as the vapid Sarah Palin of 2008, regardless of how much she’s grown in the intervening years. As it stands, I think Palin will run in 2012, but will be overshadowed by someone like Huckabee, who is not only an equally capable politician, but can claim some policy knowledge. And if that doesn’t happen, if Palin is actually the Republican nominee for president four years from now, then I think she’ll lose, and her political career will not recover.

Tomorrow, the Senate Democratic caucus will vote—via secret ballot—on whether or not Sen. Joe Lieberman will remain as the Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee.

Personally, I don’t have a problem with the fact that Lieberman disagrees with Barack Obama and Senate Democrats on some issues; there are plenty of disagreements among Democrats on a variety of issues. We don’t march in lockstep.

I don’t even have a problem with Lieberman supporting John McCain for president—like every citizen, Lieberman has the right to support whoever he wants. And Obama himself has come out and said he doesn’t hold any grudges against Lieberman over it; if he doesn’t, neither do I.

But I’m still hoping Lieberman loses his gavel. Here’s why:

Joe Lieberman’s conduct was unbecoming of a Senate chairman.

Joe Lieberman’s behavior during the presidential campaign was unbecoming of his prestigious chairmanship. He didn’t just criticize Obama’s policies; Lieberman launched dishonest, over-the top attacks on Obama himself. Lieberman portrayed Obama as a Marxist and a socialist, he compared Obama to Herbert Hoover and he lied about the impact of Obama’s tax policies.

Considering that Lieberman’s committee is responsible for oversight of the executive branch, it’s important the chairman not be prone to dishonesty and hyperbole.

Also unbecoming of the chairmanship is the fact that, ever since he took the gavel, Joe Lieberman hasn’t held one substantive hearing on the Bush administration’s conduct (despite an embarrassment of riches). The chairman of that committee should perform vigorous, thorough oversight no matter who is in the White House or what issues they may or may not agree on. This dereliction of duty alone is nearly enough to put someone else at the helm of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee.

Joe Lieberman has some major conflicts of interest.

It’s no secret Joe Lieberman wants to move up from the Senate. He was a vice presidential candidate in 2000 and a presidential candidate in 2004. He was considered as John McCain’s running mate this year and, had McCain won, he would have almost certainly been tapped for a cabinet post.

But Barack Obama won the election, which poses a problem when you consider that Lieberman’s committee is responsible for providing oversight on the president. Lieberman could spend the next four years chasing ridiculous right-wing charges against Obama, miring the White House in never-ending frivolous investigations.

If he gets to keep his gavel, Lieberman could go a long way toward harming Obama’s presidency, thus making it easier for a Republican to win in 2012. Then, once again, Lieberman can endorse and campaign for the Republican in the hopes of getting a cabinet appointment (or some other lucrative political reward).

Don’t get me wrong—no matter who chairs that committee there will be some kind of political conflict. But the chairperson of that committee should be as neutral and judicious as possible; he/she shouldn’t be a strong partisan prone to taking staunch political positions. Lieberman clearly doesn’t fit that mold–the potential for him to abuse his gavel is extremely high.

This isn’t about revenge. It’s not about retribution. It’s about both upholding the integrity of the Senate and ensuring that Congress provides strict oversight of the White House without falling prey to frivolous investigations of trumped-up charges.

Pat Leahy and Bernie Sanders have already called for Lieberman to be dumped. Byron Dorgan sounds like he’s on board, too. These aren’t partisan or vindictive men; they simply understand what’s at stake here, and they know why Lieberman is no longer fit to serve as chairman.

UPDATE: Tom Carper, who served as the Delaware campaign chairman for Lieberman’s 2004 presidential bid, also sounds like he’s on board.

UPDATE II: According to Politico, the vote will be held at 9:30 tomorrow morning.

UPDATE III: Multiple outlets are reporting that a deal has been struck that is extremely favorable to Lieberman:

Senate Democrats appear willing to let Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Connecticut, keep his powerful Homeland Security Committee chairmanship, even though he campaigned vigorously for Sen. John McCain’s White House bid, two sources told CNN Monday.

But the veteran lawmaker will, according to the sources, lose a less prominent chairmanship of a subcommittee on the Environment and Public Works Committee.

[...]

Lieberman and several other senators are expected to make presentations about Lieberman’s behavior during the campaign. Several senators who are angry with Lieberman told CNN they would question Lieberman in detail about what he said and why when he was campaigning for Republican nominee McCain.

[Emphasis mine]

Of course, nothing is set in stone until the votes are cast and counted. I look forward to the questioning of Lieberman by his peers, though–honesty and accountability in government is always a good thing.

From one election season to the next. And I thought the Major League Baseball season was long. Instead of working to fix the problems that this country faces right now, critics of Obama are already looking ahead to 2012. The biggest criticism I hear right now is his appointing people with experience to his transition team. Yes, I know his platform was change. But if you want to change the rules, you have to know the rules. I suppose if he were only appointing people who had never been to Washington, the criticism would be that nobody has any experience. Nobody will ever win in partisan politics.

Listen, Republicans… you had your turn. I was forced to sit and watch as my president (that I didn’t vote for but was my president, nonetheless) put on a colorful wig and bright red clown nose and dragged my country through the mud. For 8 years, my president has put his own personal interests ahead of my country. For the past 5 years, I’ve been forced to standby as my president waged a meaningless war and sent my fellow Americans off to die in the name of protecting my freedoms. I’ve been told that I’m not patriotic because I don’t support the views of our commander-in-chief. Do the same standards apply to you?

You can kick and scream and shout “socialist” all you want. You can pretend your right to own guns is in jeopardy. You can pretend your party understands the definition of fiscal responsibility. Barack Obama is your next president. Are you going to help make this country whole again? Or are you going to continue to be part of the problem? Stop looking ahead 4 years and live in the now. It’s as if some people would rather watch their country falter than be wrong. I guess your idea of patriotism and mine are different.

See this trailer here? It’s a hoax. It’s a fake imaginary ad for a hypothetical movie that does not exist. Same goes for this imdb.com page. And all these news articles. Imaginary, folks. Not true. There is no such movie as 2012.

This is what my colleague Buddy told me. You remember Buddy, don’t you? He’s the holy-rolling dinosaur-denying creationist who thinks the Earth is 6,000 years old and anyone who says otherwise was sent by the devil. Also, he likes to look at the ladies online.

Anyway, he’s been on a real end-times tear lately, talking about how the Mayans got it right and the world is going to end in 2012. (He and I have been down this road before). So last night, I came across the trailer for the new movie 2012 and sent him the link on Facebook, thinking he might find it interesting. Wait, no, I did it to bug him.

And it worked. He wrote me back to tell me that this movie does not exist, will never exist, because God told Noah he would never make the waters rise again (There are people in Indonesia, New Orleans and across the Caribbean who would likely disagree with that statement).

So I pushed him on it. And he told me the devil frequently creates things like this to tempt us and trick us and fool us into thinking the end times are just a fantasy. Then Lucifer can swoop in and fuck us over royally. I didn’t realize the devil had a YouTube account, but I guess it makes sense when you think about it.

I’m just relieved to know that I won’t have to worry about deciding to not go see Roland Emmerich’s latest end-of-the-world disaster epic. I saw The Day After Tomorrow in the theatre, and I felt really bad about wasting the money afterwards. Now, when this 2012 movie doesn’t actually open on July 10, I won’t have to worry about it. I’ll just see Star Trek 21 times instead of 20.

Tools like Twitter enable you to follow the moves and interests of everyone you like and/or admire,

Tools like Twitter enable you to follow the moves and interests of everyone you like and/or admire, sharing where they are and what they are thinking and doing, what cool stuff they have thought up or just discovered, and since being and doing is really what makes the world move forward, this enables you to keep up with the pulse of evolution in real time. Never in the history of the world has this been possible before. A lot of people believe that we are entering a time of ever-increasing rate of change and innovation, reaching asymptotic levels in a few years time. Some say this will be accompanied by the emergence of a global mind, or a new level of consciousness manifesting in humanity. Just like cells once joined up and evolved into multi-cell organisms, and these again joined into complex life-forms able to sustain a higher level of integrated consciousness different from the sum of its parts, we may now be on the brink of the era when human beings will form the cells of the new global mind, for the first time having conscious knowledge and experience of the fact that we are ONE BEING manifesting in many bodies. Just like the saints and sages of old (and present!) have always maintained is the ultimate reality of life. And which many long-time meditators can subscribe to.

As for when this shift will start to happen, a lot of focus is currently centered on the year 2012 and its connection with the end of the Mayan calendar (Dec. 21, 2012) which is said to herald the end of the present era and the beginning of a new reality. This again is tied into an astronomical event happening once every ~26 000 years, namely the alignment of the earth with the center of our galaxy, which could lead to a shift in the Earth’s magnetic poles (this has happened several times before in the history of the Earth). Lots of speculation, little hard knowledge, but interesting times to be alive? You bet!

One of the things that David Icke talks a lot about conspiracy of lizard race over the humans.

Some say this is true, others think this is nonsense.

You know, I personally DO NOT CARE! I know this can sound very shocking to the supporters of this idea - I am frank when I say I DO NOT CARE.

I think people who are fussy about this lizard thing are missing the point. Do you think that humans who are playing the games with our freedom are in any way better than lizards, birds, worms or bees?

David says that humans are just on the surface and the guys whom we know as presidents, prime ministers and other top authority bodies are just expensive puppets and they are controlled by the lizards.

Come on, people, stop it!

It is not about them, it is about us!!

Until most of the people are sheep the wolves will never stop doing what they are doing. It is not about lizards, other races, under-spiritual entities, or bee-like people. Stop thinking about this rubbish. No matter who is around, it is all about YOU.

Develop yourself! Grow! Think! Act! And NO ONE will ever be able to manipulate you. Forget that crappy lizard thing!

Ok, and now comes the video.

The new Sony film “2012″ is using impressive internet viral marketing. As millions of people attended the “Quantum of Solace” movie last weekend they were besieged by a campaign about the end of the world.

The trailer is visually stunning. It also contains a quirky notice at the end, “Google search 2012.”

The movie is about the Mayan prediction about a great change at the end of their calendar. If you Google “2012″ there is a certain advertisement that comes up at the top of your field: TheIHC & 2012. The link takes you to the Web site for the Institute of Human Continuity.

While there is not much there yet, you can register to be saved. I registered and my ticket is: JT20081117125845. While that might seem like a unique ticket number, it is actually the exact time at which I clicked “Submit.” 11/17/2008 12:58:45, is exactly the time in the Pacific Time Zone. I guess its a fun trick, but pretty easy to see through. (Nice try Sony.)

According to this post on First Showing this type of viral campaign was also used for another end of the world thriller, “Deep Impact.”

“Deep Impact” made $140 million in the United States after a smallish opening weekend of $41.1 million in 1998. Whether “2012″ will find the same success remains to be seen. The Hollywood Stock Exchange currently has the project valued at $129.61, which suggests a robust opening weekend.

Does this type of marketing interest you? Will it help draw viewers? (Or is it just terrifying?)

2012 refers to the Mayan calendar and their belief that the world will end on December 12, 2012. This is one of the better teaser trailers we’ve seen this year but chances are this movie will end up like the other mediocre disaster movie crap that director Roland Emmerich (10,000 BC, The Day After Tomorrow) has put out. John Cusack, Thandie Newton, Amanda Peet, and Woody Harrelson star, and it will hit theaters summer 2009.
