• The 30 shortlisted companies are those with both maximum number of votes and highest expert rating.
• If there is a tie in the overall ranking for the shortlist, first the higher expert rating will be considered as tiebreaker and then the number of votes.
• If both the expert rating and number of votes are equal, the rank will be tied.

The winning team will receive Business support from the leading Business Schools of India. The winning team will also receive publicity from the media partners involved in these event.

The Startups should have the characteristic feature of Innovation, Scalability, solution to hard problems of life. The final winners will be a group of 5 among the 30 participants all over.

The International Conference on ‘Computing and Communication System for High Performance Applications’[CCSHPA] focuses on the communication requirements directly induced or required by computing systems. An essential element of modern day distributed and high performance computing systems is the trade-off in the amount of computation versus the amount of communication performed. Certain applications are inherently communication-intensive. In others, communication steps may be replaceable with local computations and vice versa. At the same time, systems resources may support large communication requirements. In other systems, physical or power constraints may limit the communication support. This conference provides a venue for scholarly publication that explores issues relating to the combined effects of communications and computations in the context of modern computing systems. Following the recent broadening of the field of parallel and distributed computing, CCSHPA covers all current research endeavors in this field. Submissions are also encouraged from researchers in other areas of computing and from related areas in communication, computer engineering or other areas of study whose work supports the focus of this conference.

Reliance Industries Limited has generously created the Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows Program to support Indian students with financial need in obtaining an MBA at Stanford.

Each year, Stanford may award up to five Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowships:

• Fellows will receive full financial support for the two-year Stanford MBA Program and all fees associated with applying and attending.
• Reliance and Stanford are dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders in India who are committed to the country’s human and socio-economic progress.
• Within two years of completing their Stanford MBA studies, Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows will return to India for a period of at least two years employment in the public or private sector.

Process and Evaluation Criteria:
Up to 50 Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows Finalists will be selected based on:
- Merit
- Commitment to developing India
- Financial need

In the second stage, those Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows finalists will go on to complete the standard application process for the Stanford MBA Program. As part of the MBA admission process, Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows finalists will be required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) if they have not done so already. The Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows finalists will bear none of the costs associated with the GMAT exams or Stanford application.

Stanford may select up to five Reliance Dhirubhai Fellows from among the finalists based on its primary admission criteria of:
- Intellectual vitality
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Personal qualities and contributions

The application requirements are following:

• Educational history and scores (10th board exams, 12th board exams, Common Admission Test (CAT) and/or GMAT scores if available)

Jeevika, a South Asian documentary film festival on the issue of livelihood, is a search for documentaries that focus on legal and regulatory restrictions as well as socio - cultural norms and religious practices that prevent or constrain people from earning an honest livelihood in the vocation of their choice. It is a part of an attempt to bring policies in focus which have not been liberalized and keeping entry level professions under License Raj, thus keeping a nation under imposed poverty. Livelihood is a common issue that touches all other issues including poverty human rights, governance, labour welfare, tribal rights, minority rights, women empowerment, health, globalization, privatization, environment, agriculture, hunger and many more.

According to the Centre for Civil Society, Jeevika’s objectives include
- To take stock of films already made on livelihood issues
- To encourage young filmmakers to make documentaries on livelihood issues
- To provide filmmakers a platform to increase the impact of such films

For Whom:
This exciting new global internship program in beautiful Beijing, China will be offered every fall, spring and possibly summer to students of all majors at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, including international students.

The Mason Center for Global Education, in partnership with Abroad China, offers students the unique opportunity to participate in a professional academic internship in Beijing. Students are placed in professional internships for academic credit, based on their course work, skills and personal/professional interests. Many internships will include a stipend from the company that helps pay for students daily meals and transportation. Placements include (but are not limited to) business, commerce, trade, the arts, communication, history, culture and politics.

In the 15-week fall and spring options, internships are complemented with a weekly class focusing on Chinese Life & Culture, taught by local faculty in Beijing. Students intern four days per week, gaining valuable practical experience, and participate in the formal class one day per week. Students are evaluated according to their performance at the internships, and are also required to complete reflective and research assignments as part of their coursework (From both the Mason Faculty Director and their Beijing professor). All students, both Mason and non-Mason, are eligible for career counseling, resume writing tips and internship search strategies from Mason’s University Career Services, in SUB 1, Room 348.

Interns are paid $10 an hour for 40 hours of work and study at the Ayn Rand Institute.

HPAIR, the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations, annually organizes the largest student events in Asia and the largest Harvard events in Asia: the HPAIR academic and business conferences. HPAIR is one of the most established and respected student groups at Harvard.

The HPAIR Business Conference is an annual event in which hundreds of international undergraduate and MBA students and young professionals worldwide come together to interact and learn about most dynamic areas of Asian business from the most prominent industry leaders. Our conference seeks to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current economic trends in Asia and create a forum for discussion of new developments in the region.

Drawing from an international pool of students, professionals, academics, and captains of industry from all over the world, our conference is intended to achieve three goals: help our delegates understand the trends shaping global business; foster long-term relationships between young leaders from around the globe; and connect talented delegates with some of today’s leaders in academia, business and government.

Emerging Into Focus: Asia Incorporated

This year’s theme characterizes the many challenges and opportunities Asia faces today. Through the structure of plenary sessions and panels, the Conference will evaluate the challenges facing Asian economies as they reinvent themselves to generate sustainable growth and discuss the strategies that Asian business leaders are adopting to capture opportunities in the new Asian business landscape. Our workshops critically analyze case studies and gain a nuanced practical understanding of Asia’s business opportunities. Providing an opportunity for discussion, debate, and reflection, the HPAIR Business Conference is a forum for building global understanding where current and future leaders meet and exchange ideas.

The HPAIR 2008 Business Conference will accept 300 students and professionals. The registration fee is payable online after application decisions have been made; You may pay a student fee of US$300 if you are currently a student, a recent graduate (out of school for no more than six months at the time of the conference), or accepted to and planning to attend an accredited institution within six months after the start of the conference. We will review exceptions to this on a case-by-case basis. Otherwise, you are required to pay the professional fee of US$350 in order to register.

InderScience Publishers is bringing out a special IJEIM issue on “Realigning the Innovation-Entrepreneurship Interface”.
