<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><img src="http://www.gmc.on.ca/litg/pics/tt.jpg" alt="" align="right" />We wish to extend an invite for your team/organization to attend the 2nd Annual <strong>Rick “Tuggy” Passfield Memorial U-16 Field Lacrosse Tournament.</strong></p>
<p>The tournament is scheduled for August 22-24th 2008, and will be located in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. It is our goal as a tournament committee to host teams from a variety of Provinces, States, and countries. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Oshawa Hospital Foundation, and more directly to HCM Awareness. After a successful start in the first year of existence we look to continue to continue to build a lacrosse tradition, as a tournament of this nature is currently non-existent.</p>
<p>The tournament entry fee is $500 for all teams. Included in the price, all team members will receive:</p>
<ul>
<li>a tournament t-shirt,</li>
<li>team breakfast</li>
<li>banquet,</li>
<li>prizes,</li>
<li>individual/team awards,</li>
<li>and those competing in the All-Star Game receive a full uniform.</li>
</ul>
<p>Please join us in a competitive weekend of talented lacrosse, non-stop activities, and a chance to play teams normally not involved in your local league play.</p>

• Pro Player hosting Skills Competition</p>
<p>“A” &#38; “B” Semi Finals Sunday Morning, “A” &#38; “B” Finals Sunday Afternoon</p>
<p>Tournament All-Star Game All teams will be represented with at least one player or goalie</p>

<p>•We have reserved 120 rooms from August 21st through August 24th. You are not obligated to stay all nights but we do encourage you to stay at the Residence. Every room booked is helping our fundraising initiative. <p><em>Yes it is maybe a little hard to believe, but we are already underway with the planning stages for the 2008 &#8220;Tuggy Tournament&#8221;. Co-ordinator of the event Joel Johnson has recently sent out a message (copied below) to all in hopes that 2008 we will have even more volunteers than last year.</em></p>
<p>Joel&#8217;s message:</p>
<p>Hello All;</p>
<p>Now that all ends are tied up from the 2007 tournament it is time to rebuild for this years event. Much will stay the same, but some differences will occur to better the event for the future. We are looking for volunteers, organizers, and supporters to assist in plans for 2008. If you are interested please reply with your availability, or as to how much participation you can offer us.</p>
<p>Our first tournament meeting will be <strong>Wednesday Febuary 13th. 6:30pm at the Thornton Arms Restaurant &#38; Pub.</strong> We will be looking to get groups started on differnent projects for the tournament. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but would like to help in tournament plans and attend regualer meetings, let me know.</p>
<p>It was a real success last year, and again thank-you for those of you who helped make it happen. Our goal is to continue to raise the bar of money earned for HCM, and our local hospital (Lakeridge Health). This years tournament will run from August 22nd to August 24th 2008, and will of course be held in Oshawa.</p>
