Dr. Tor Iorapuu is a social activist working in the African country of Nigeria. He is associated with YARAC, Youth Adolescent Reflection and Action Center, a program that works with young people to bridge the current religious and racial divides in the country. Recently, he visited St Thomas University to speak about his work. It was especially meaningful for STU student Tara Hurford, who spent two weeks this past summer working with the doctor in Nigeria. She probably thought she’s never see him again, but last week, Tara introduced the doctor to her school in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

In the poem You Begin, I thought the writer was talking about the way life is, how it seems simple when you begin your life but it gets more and more complex when you get more through your life.  I think it is like that because you begin to think more and more seriously about life.  Like college, university, job, marriage, and so on.  If you think more simply, you might be more relaxed.

I do not remember any advices that I have recieved but I might tell a child to have a simple life and don’t get frustrated too easily or your life might get more complicated.
