Jimmy Watson is one of Australia's, and Melbourne's, great wine figures, so much so a trophy is named after him. And this wine, is worthy of his memory in its class.

I really enjoy this wine, more than many more expensive McLaren Vale wines, and more than some in the D'Arenberg stable, and that's high praise.

This wine has fruity aromas to the nose, with a purple-deep red coloring. This swirls nicely in the glass, and brings pleasant aromas to the nose. The wine leaves tears on the glass, and has a pleasing viscosity.

The real treat is in the drinking, where the wine has a fragrant bouquet of flavours. Overwhelmingly peppery, with a solid base of berry flavours, I would say wildberries and blackcurrant.

Also, there are elements of saltiness, and because of that, it's a rare red that I could see at home with calamari, despite the idea you should drink white wine with white meat.

This wine harmonises with lamb, and curries, in my case it was matched to a lamb curry with rice. It is a wine to drink with spicy or peppery dishes.

After drinking, this Cabernet Sauvignon, leaves a long and pleasant aftertaste in the mouth. It's a great winter wine.

In it's category, being made of parcels of McLaren Vale fruit, it's an exceptionally drinkable wine, which I would favour over some more well-known labels. Drink now or in a year or 3.

I really enjoy this wine, and enjoyed it in this instance. This wine lives up to the big man, Jimmy Watson, and it's a wine that I would drink anywhere in the world comfortably.

Director : Tsui Hark
Cast : Leon Lai Ming, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei,
Lu Yi, Sun Honglei, Kim So-Yeon, Donnie Yen Chi Tan,
Wang Xueqi, Zhang Jingchu, Zhou Qunda, Dai Li-Wu, Huang Peng

Synopsis : (from hkfilmart.com)
Adapted from renowned writer Liang Yu-shen's timeless classic, Seven Swords tells the story of seven unlikely heroes gathered together to save a village from the massacre of a general that is seeking a fortune through killing

In the early 1600's, the Manchurians have assumed sovereignty and established the Ching Dynasty. A highly oppressive reign thus began. To fight against the brutality
of the new government and save the innocent, seven unlikely heroes gathered together and became the Seven Swords. Each sword carries its own character - The Transience Sword, The Dragon Sword, The Heaven's Fall Sword, The Unlearn Sword, The Deity Sword, The
Celestial Beam Sword and The Star Chasers Sword.

Review
by Gary Cheah

Well, finally Seven Swords hit the Asian cinemas. Adapted from renowned writer Liang Yu Shen's novels, it tells a story of seven unlikely heroes gathered to save a village from the massacre of a deadly, barbarian cult armies. They are seeking fortune from killing the innocents to collect prize money from the government. Basically, Seven Swords follows the "Seven Swordsmen Leaves Mountain Heaven" novel where 5 swordsmen are summoned from Mount Heaven to save the innocent people. Each and every of them carry an unique sword which has it own capability and usage. There are The Unlearnt, The Dragon, The Transience, The Deity, The Heaven’s Fall, The Celestial Beam, and The Star-Chasers. Another 2 swordsmen came from the village itself and joined as a group to become the Seven Swords.

It started when Fu Qinzu (Lau Kar Leung) got hunted by the deadly armies when he tries to retrieve dog tags from the dead bodies to alert the villagers where they going to be the next targets of the armies. Liu managed to escape and landed on the village, but unfortunately the people doesn't seems to believe Liu's words. Two of the villagers sneak out and release Fu in order to find help to save the people. This awaken the heroes of Mount Heaven and their quest begins.

Its an interesting story adapted from the rich Liang Yu Shen's Wu Xia novels. There are many things to tell and it seems Seven Swords is quite toned down. From its original 4 hours, its been cut to 2.5 hours to suits the theatrical length. As i can see, it really affect the overall outcome of the entire movie. Some of the sequences are poor edited where it jumps from scenes to scenes in a sudden and it makes you wonder. The momentum of the movie seems to be not consistent and unable to give a cinematic suspense hype to the audience. The action scenes are good enough to deliver the swords capability but ain't that great to give you a hype over it. The most notable action scene is the part where Donnie Yen (Chu Zaonan aka Dragon Sword) versus Sun Hong Lei (Fire-Wind Leader) in the tight space alley where Chu Zaonan set to reclaim his Dragon Sword from the Fire-Wind leader. Tsui Hark definitely put an effort in the visual part where the sets, location, back drop, and scenery look really promising, especially the scenes on Mount Heaven. Costumes are no doubt well made and look good. On the screenplay, Tsui Hark tends to follow the original, concentrated on the coming together of the swords where each of them are driven to unexpected courage and strength by love, friendship, spirit of justice, and the longing for a peaceful and harmonious world

On the actors, we can see the return of several veteran actors such as Leon Lai, Charlie Yeung (New Police Story) and Andrew Lau Kar Leung. Donnie Yen has been quite active in these several years and it seems he is going to shrine in this genre. There is nothing to shout out about the acting performance of the entire cast but most of them delivers their characters well enough.

Overall, Seven Swords is a piece of new Wu Xia genre which focus more on storytelling plot rather than action-speaks louder flick. The original novels are so rich that it cant be fit into a single movie only, thus there will be a sequel. At last, this movie is not for everyone. If you are looking for an entertaining action-packed Wu Xia flick, you will be disappointed.

Watch The Movies Slowly..hehe

All I can say is, it's about time!

For all of us TurboCharged tC's, this is really a must have. Having a turbo setup dramtically increases the heat under the hood, which decreases performance and shortens the life of the engine itself. The stock radiator simply wasn't intended to help dissipate so much heat. What's worse is that we add a front mount intercooler which makes the stock radiator work even less efficient because you're blocking some of the air flow!

Here's where racing radiators come in to play. They're purpose built for those who have added performance and heat. The Mishimoto racing radiators are made of aluminum, which on average provides 25-30% better heat dissapation. Not only that, the Aircraft grade aluminum is also lighter weight, and less weight in the front of the tC is right where you want it since we're very front heavy. Equal weight distribution is one of the keys to great handling!

Best of all, this is a DIRECT BOLT ON. No modification needed. It still uses the stock fan shrouds and everything. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose! This is also a great mod if you have an N/A or Supercharged setup too. You can purchase it today from Prestige Racing for only $240 + shipping! Remember, whenever you buy something from them, don't forget to mention us in the "comments about your order" section. Each time you do, Prestige Racing donates a small portion to the Scion Underground Podcast! If you have any questions, feel free to send an email to Sales@PrestigeRacing.net.

Review: This is excellent “early sounding” Black Metal. They very much remind me of an old skool Dimmu Borgir (somewhere around the “Enthrone Darkness Triumphant” era). I can’t quite work out why these guys aren’t a lot bigger on the scene than they are, although it is possibly that the album came out in 2005 yet sounds like early 90s. The drumming is wonderful in parts and everyone compliments each other, whether it be melodic guitars over double bass drumming or haunting black metal vocals over chunky riffs. This album is certainly worth the 1p we paid and I will definitely be adding it to my Playlist. (They only missed out on a 4.5 rating because I think they missed the boat on 1992 :P)

Every 500 years, er, a pair of super-giant snakes - one good, one evil - get the opportunity to consume the spirit of a 20-year-old woman who had been born with the tattoo of a dragon on her right shoulder. This allows the snake to become a dragon and become as powerful as, well, a super-giant snake probably.

3/10

Eye-brow-raisingly awful fantasy monster movie (the most expensive in Korean film history) with strong visual effects. The story and script, perhaps impressively, never cease to take the breath away with their incompetence; writer / director Hyung Rae-Shim never manages a single not-terrible line, even accidentally. There is also a notable lack of dragon wars in the movie with a climactic fight between a dragon and a snake proving to be the only appearance of a dragon. That said, the effects are good, the action editing is quite effective and I got a surprising kick out of seeing a Chinese-style dragon in CG, something I've never seen in any other movie.

This movie contains fantasy monster violence against each other and against humans.

Greeks' household budget by consumption categories looks like this:

18.9% goes to food, beverages & tobacco
Romania: 50% (top)
EU27: 19.4%

30.2% goes to housing *
Bulgaria: 37.7% (top)
EU27: 33.1%
Romania: 19.4% (bottom)

5.9% goes to health
Portugal: 6.1% (top)
EU27: 3.4:%
UK: 1.2% (bottom)

10.4% goes to transportation
Malta: 16.6% (top)
EU27: 11.9%
Bulgaria: 5% (bottom)

3.8% goes to communications
Hungary: 6.5% (top)
EU27: 3.3%
Italy & Luxembourg: 2.2% (bottom)

4.2% goes to recreation & culture
Austria: 12.5% (top)
EU27: 8.4%
Bulgaria: 2.9% (bottom)

2.4% goes to education
Cyprus: 4% (top)
EU27: 1%
Finland: 0.2% (bottom)

8.6%: goes to restaurants & hotels
Portugal: 10.8% (top)
EU27: 5.3%
Romania: 1.1% (bottom)

It makes you wonder, how can we (Greeks) be spending such a big percentage on "education" and "health". Aren't they supposed to be for free? Isn't that the reason for all those strikes in education and health in order to preserve their public nature? Our percentages are the second largest after Cyprus for "education" and after Portugal for "health". Sounds strange to me or maybe not...

Another point worth commenting is the percentage we spend on "restaurants & hotels" (i guess mpouzoukia is included here too :P ) which is greater than "education" and "recreation & culture" together. For the later (recreation & culture) we share with Romania the position right above the bottom. Nice...

* includes: water, electricity, gas & other fuels, equipment, maintenance, etc.

On a certain music message board that I frequent, we conduct a yearly poll for our favorite albums of singles from the past year. For the last three years, I've written up some blurbs for a few of the releases. Note: most of these were done about three minutes before they needed to be posted, so I do not really vouch for the quality of any of them. I actually do really like the BSS, Hold Steady, Feist, and Dinosaur Jr. ones, though.

2005:

Kanye West - Late Registration

Beck - Guero

Spoon - "I Turn My Camera On"

2006:

Broken Social Scene - "7/4 (Shoreline)"

The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls In America

2007:

Dinosaur Jr. - Beyond

Feist - "My Moon My Man"

R. Kelly - "I'm A Flirt (Remix feat. T-Pain and T.I.)"

Kanye West - Late Registration - First thing: Kanye West is incredibly cocky and/or insecure. That doesn’t mean he can’t make a good album. “Late Registration” isn’t as good as “The College Dropout,” but it is a better follow-up than anyone expected. A lot of the credit goes to Jon Brion. Co-producing with Kanye, they have created the best sounding rap album this side of the Roots. The highlights here match the best from his debut. These are mostly the singles or tracks that will probably be singles in 2006, like “Gold Digger,” “Heard ‘Em Say,” “Touch the Sky,” “We Major” with Nas, and “Diamonds From Sierra Leone (remix)” with a great verse from Jay-Z in which he compares himself to Jesus (“I had to get off the boat so I could walk on water”). Maybe Kanye isn’t the cockiest person on this album. The problem with “Late Registration” comes from the fact that we learned the entire Kanye West story on his first album. The filler on “Late Registration” can’t be filled with car crashes or working at the Gap. Instead, Kanye decides to give the listener a history lesson about the government spreading crack and AIDS in the black community. And the skits still aren’t very funny after the first half-listen. For me at least, what saves the record from just having some songs on “The Very Best of Kanye West” in 2010 is the “bonus” track, “Late.” Kanye is still cocky, but I finally feel like he backs that up with “Late.” It’s the traditional “Kanye West” sound with the slowed down sample, but it feels like he’s finally becoming comfortable with his rapping skills. If Kanye hadn’t been telling us since January that his new album was going to change the world, it might have seemed even better. Supposedly he’ll have another out by this time next year. I just hope that all he tells us about it is, “You’ll have to hear it to believe it.”

Beck - Guero - In the year or so leading up to the release of “Guero,” we were being led to believe that it was either a straight-up hip-hop album or a straight-up guitar-rock album. Somewhere those two ideas came together (along with bits and pieces of everything Beck has released since “Odelay”). Kicking off with his biggest hit in years, “E-Pro,” we’re greeted with the guitars that Beck promised. Up next on “Qué Onda Guero” we get the hip-hop with a Spanish taste to it, fitting as “Guero” is Spanish for “whiteboy.” Singles “Girl” and “Hell Yes” stand out as the first is one of the catchiest songs that might be about killing someone ever and the second features some old school (or at least back to 1996) rapping along with Christina Ricci saying “Please enjoy.” The majority of the rest of the album sounds like the more upbeat songs from “Mutations” or the more low-key songs from “Odelay.” This isn’t a horrible thing, but it does feel at times that Beck is trying to mix all the styles he’s tried together a little too neatly. A notable thing about “Guero” as a whole is the amount of official remixes released, from iTunes exclusives to remix Eps to deluxe edition tracks even to a full remix album. Combining all of these and finding the best versions of each song could turn this good Beck album into a great one.

Spoon - "I Turn My Camera On" - A minimalist track that combines elements of Prince and the Rolling Stones that isn’t a joke? Somehow Spoon made it work with “I Turn My Camera On.” With a barely there guitar track overshadowed by the bass and drums, Spoon created something new that reminds us of all the songs we ironically liked until they became popular again. By the time the feedback guitar solo hits with thirty seconds left, you’re not paying any attention to it. All that you can think about is that bass line that will be in your head for days and in the playlist of every indie-dance party for years.

Broken Social Scene - "7/4 (Shoreline)" - If you’re listening to a band that can have up to eighteen members, it should be expected that their songs would have a “Wall of Sound” quality to them. Broken Social Scene does not disappoint, especially on “7/4 (Shoreline)”. As if almost to slowly lead the listener to the audio onslaught to come, the layers are introduced one-by-one until you’re hearing a solid mass of guitars and the lovely voice of Leslie Feist. It all comes to a stop for a second to give you (and probably the band) a chance to catch your breath, but it starts right back up again and continues to build with more noise and horns and handclaps. I have no clue what they’re singing about other than that “It’s coming in hard,” but it’s still one of the most powerful things I’ve heard in a long time.

The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls In America - Good rock and roll music should make you feel alive. The Hold Steady’s Vagrant debut, Boys and Girls in America, does just that. Taking a combination of the best aspects of Thin Lizzy, The Replacements, Jack Kerouac, and Born To Run/Darkness on the Edge of Town era Bruce Springsteen, the songs making up Boys and Girls in America create a set of characters who are bored with what’s surrounding them and doing whatever they can, usually drinking, doing drugs, and falling in love, to make some sort of change. I think that the biggest fans of this album are people who have lived the situations that Craig Finn is describing in the songs and the people who don’t like it have never experienced it. Finn isn’t really romanticizing these characters, though. They seem to be as close to completely falling apart as the music does at times, but it doesn’t change the fact that right now they’re still alive and so is the listener.

Dinosaur Jr. - Beyond - I don't know much about the original runs of Dinosaur Jr. beyond the singles that made a bit of dent during the "alternative" era, so I didn't quite know what to expect when I put Beyond in my playlist of things to listen to before the end of the year. I was on the train and all of a sudden this crazy guitar started playing through my headphones. And it didn't let up for the next 45 minutes. This album rocks. Hard. Going back to that early Dinosaur Jr. album made me realize that even though this is technically a reunion album, it sounds like it could have been made in their heyday. For most bands, this is probably a bad thing, to get back together and make an album that sounds like you did nearly twenty years ago, but Dinosaur Jr. are so good at what they do, it doesn't matter. When Dinosaur Jr.'s peers in the Pixies reunited around the same time a few years back, everyone wanted them to record a new album. I say if they can't match half of what Dinosaur Jr. did with Beyond, why bother?
Feist - "My Moon My Man" - Seen as almost an afterthought in this post-"1234" world, the first single from The Reminder explores all of the sonic dimensions of Feist. Along with "Sea Lion Woman," it represents the sound that Feist has defined for herself live. As the song progress, more layers build up, until the song climaxes with a multi-tracked vocal repeating over the set of piano chords that have been churning throughout the song. Suddenly, everything else stops and we're just left with that piano. "1234" may have been the introduction of Feist to the mainstream, but "My Moon My Man" should be what lasts.
R. Kelly - "I'm A Flirt (Remix feat. T-Pain and T.I.)" - As the most recent in a long line of songs about R. Kelly stealing your girl, "I'm A Flirt" shines for a variety of reasons. First, you have the expected nonsensical one-liners flowing from Kels, like any uptempo sex jam should have. He is rather frank with the fact that if you are at the club and you go to the bathroom, he will steal and statutory rape your lady friend. He doesn't care that she's over 18. Why can/will he do this? Because he's black, handsome , sings, plus he's rich and most importantly, a flirt. Next T.I. follows and just like in last year's "My Love," he acts as the voice of reason. Well, sort of. At least compared to R. Kelly, he's trying to look out for you. Finally, T-Pain (did you ever expect to hear him on a hip-hop/R&B track this year?) shows up and T-Pains around a little bit. By combing three of the, if not best, at least most ubiquitous urban hit-makers of the last few years, you're left with a ridiculous jam that somehow still is the most logical thing found on Double Up.

I know what you’re thinking (”oh, I’ve been thinking about you “) since you

I know what you're thinking ("oh, I've been thinking about you ;) ") since you saw the pictures of Trisha right here: "Wtf took him so long?" lol (well, that might not be the direct quote you were thinking but it's probably close)... anyway, I understand, and as you can see, I finally decided to post about Mrs. Garth Brooks. I've been wanting to do it for a long time but I had such a tough time choosing one particular song to recommend, so over my vacation break (I've been gone for the last few days, if you hadn't noticed), I decided that since this is my site and I'm able to break any "rules" I've set up, I'm going to do it my way, and just set up a double-shot series for my recommendations for whoever I wanted to (that name didn't take long to come up with ha). I was all caught up in keeping to my own restrictions with the posts, but now I know it doesn't matter lol.

So here is a new series of recommendations in which I'll cover two ("double-shots") or maybe three ("threesomes") or possibly even more, if I feel like it. I want to go back and do it for some artists I've already used, so watch for that. I'm glad my first will be with Ms. Yearwood.

My twenty-fourth recommendation is: Trisha Yearwood's "River of You" from her 2005 Jasper County album AND "Drown Me" from her 2007 Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love album. Both of the albums listed are Trisha's most recent album releases and offer a lot of great material. Most of her fans prefer her ballad/slow-tempo stuff because vocal-wise, she hits them all outta the park every time and doesn't overdo and over-sing them like some of her contemporaries, but for me, I prefer her more uptempo/mid-tempo tunes like "XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl)", "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)", and "Perfect Love". That's why I have a strong attraction towards these two songs (they also happen to be about heartache lol). Trisha Yearwood is definitely one of favorite singers of all time and consistently releases amazing work and has a voice like no other. It will be tough to keep my entry short and concise because I'll be tempted to write more and ramble on, so here it goes.

Actually, originally, I was going to do "They Call It Falling for a Reason" from Heaven... but I found out last night that it was going to be Trisha's newest single for Summer 2008! That made me very very happy since I do love the song a lot. It just might be my most favorite from that album. I'm sure I'll review it another time...

The first time I heard "River of You", I instantly loved it. That constant steady beat with the guitar and fiddle sounds so enticing to the ears. along with the dobro. The whole song has a strong mountain/bluegrass feel to it, even down to her vocals. It just grabs you and it's one of those songs I can't imagine anyone not liking. You totally believe how foolishly in love she is with this guy and how he continuously breaks her heart again and again and she keeps coming back for more. I know how that is: when someone you love keeps hurting you, but you, relentlessly, crawl back to them and sink lower than before because you've let them pull you deeper and you know that you will eventually drown from that weakness. Not a good situation to be in but Trisha makes this heartbreaking song a "feel-good" song for me (meaning it sounds so good and so country to the ears, especially that fiddle, that the pain in the lyrics isn't so bothersome lol). I actually listen to it sometimes when I'm running. It's co-written by Leslie Satcher so you can do no wrong if it sung by Trisha Yearwood.

As we're on the topic of drowning and the usage of metaphors, my next recommendation is "Drown Me", co-written by artist/writer, Jessi Alexander. This uptempo honky-tonker is as good as real country gets. The person behind this song is ready to let the truth and heartache sink in, so they do the best thing you can do to ease the pain: go to a bar and drink, drink, drink. Trisha sings it with such passion that, rather than it be a sad song, it becomes more of a fun, sing-along, have-a-good-time-at-the-bar tune (while still being woe-me). Excessive drinking should not be a way to kill the memories of hard times, but that's how this person plans to get over their damaged present, and they demand that their drunken recovery must start NOW lol. You gotta love the honky-tonk piano and steel guitar-drenched production in this, or you probably don't like country music. Great song to feel good about feeling bad.

Jasper County and Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love are excellent albums and showcase all sides of Yearwood's musical styles very well. I don't own any of her other studio albums (and I'm sure I should) but these ones, aside from her hits albums, are the best ones to start up with. Check out Country Universe's article on TY as they name her #8 in their list of "Country Music's Greatest Women" and read Jim Malec's (of the 9513) review of Trisha's latest album here (it ranked #1 on their "Greatest Albums of 2007" list!).

I told myself I'd stay away
I got no business around here today
You're so not good for me
And everybody knows
The way you break my heart again and again
But before I know
I'm too close
One sweet look and then you

Pull me under with the touch that's like no other
I'm drifting, drowning
There's nothing I can do but fall into the river of you

When I thought I saw love's reflection
Just to feel your cold rejection
Every tear adds to the water
That I keep swimming in
Even I know, I'm a fool, a reckless fool, for you
'Cause I keep coming around here
Like I got nothing to lose than you

Pull me under with the touch that's like no other
I'm drifting, drowning
There's nothing I can do but fall into the river of you

When you pull me under with the touch that's like no other
I'm drifting, drowning
There's nothing I can do but fall into the river of you
Pull me under with the touch that's like no other

I'm drifting, drowning
There's nothing I can do but fall into the river of you

Yeah, I fall into the river of you

Then you pull me under
Fall into the river of you
Pull me under...

Here are the full lyrics to "Drown Me", written by Jessi Alexander & Pat McLaughlin:

We both know it's been over for a long time
You're afraid to look me in the eye
Let's order up a bottle of the good stuff
And drink until we don't know how to lie

So won't you give it to me straight
I got a lot of heart to break
And a lot of love for you that needs to die

Won't you hurt me and hurt me good
Let the truth burn like it should
Don't just pour it on
Drown me
Ooh Lord drown me

When you say it won't, you say it with conviction
Hey when you leave, don't leave no room for doubt
It won't be easy kicking this addiction
If there's one ounce of hope left to be found

So won't you make it something strong
'Til everything we had is gone
I know you've got it in you if you try

Won't you hurt me and hurt me good
Let the truth burn like it should
Don't just pour it on
Drown me

So won't you give it to me straight
I've got a stubborn old heart to break
And a lot of love for you that needs to die

Won't you hurt me and hurt me good
Let the truth burn like it should
Don't just pour it on
Drown me

Come on drown me

Ooh Lord drown me...

Just over three years old and about four-feet tall, Methuselah is growing well. ''It's lovely,'' Dr. Sarah Sallon said of the date palm, whose parents may have provided food for the besieged Jews at Masada some 2,000 years ago.

The little tree was sprouted in 2005 from a seed recovered from Masada, where rebelling Jews committed suicide rather than surrender to Roman attackers.

Radiocarbon dating of seed fragments clinging to its root, as well as other seeds found with it that didn't sprout, indicate they were about 2,000 years old — the oldest seed known to have been sprouted and grown.

Sallon, director of the Louis L. Borick Natural Medicine Research Center at Hadassah Medical Organization in Israel, updates the saga of Methuselah in Friday's edition of the journal Science.

One thing they don't know yet is whether it's a boy or girl. Date palms differ by sex, but experts can't tell the difference until the tree is six or seven years old, Sallon said.

She hopes there's a chance to use it to restore the extinct Judean date palm, once prized not only for its fruit but also for medicinal uses.

The researchers have had a look at the plant's DNA, however, and found it shares just over half its genes with modern date cultivars.

''Part of our project is to preserve ancient knowledge of how plants were used,'' Sallon said in a telephone interview. ''To domesticate them so we have a ready source of raw material.''

Her Middle Eastern Medicinal Plant Project is working to conserve and reintroduce plants to the region where they once lived.

''Many species are endangered and becoming extinct. Raising the dead is very difficult, so it's better to preserve them before they become extinct,'' she said.

The oldest documented seed to be grown previously was a 1,300-year-old lotus, Sallon said.
