A beautifully blended red wine with 50% Malbec, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah. Big fruit nose of blueberry liqueur and spice leeding to a restrained palate of black cherry, blueberry, spice and oak. This well balanced red will get better with age, drink now thru 2015.

Well done; Tight, ripe, and, concentrated. This beautiful red bursts out of the glass with leather, black cherry, earth, and spice. Notes of vanilla come out on the finish, with balanced silky tannins for this bold red.

Red Blend, Toscana, $20

Big production wines normally don’t thrill me, I like boutique producers that are more difficult to find. I decided to try this one and was not disappointed. Deep ruby red hue, this blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot is very impressive with richness and refinement. Balanced and dry, it offers a ripe, viscous mouth-feel with black cherry, espresso, and toast flavors. Mid-palate is light but the finish has elements of butter, spice, and oak to make this very enjoyable red wine. Drink now.
