Now here’s a nice and easy card layout for you to try. It’s simple but “snazzy” as I like to say. Just go to SCS’ Card Sketch Challenge #186. Here’s my card:

This one was fun, as I used a few different techniques. Here’s the recipe:

RECIPE
Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Pretty Petals
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red Prints, Old Olive, Brushed Gold, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, VersaMark
Accessoroonies: Gold Brads, Crop-a-Dile, Distressing Tool, Gold Emboss Powder

Difficulty: 2
First, I stamped the BG with Pretty Petals in VersaMark. Then I stamped again on the Old Olive strip. I 2-Step stamped the flower. For the first step, I used my Stampin’ Write markers to color in the petals with Real Read and Ruby Red, and the stem in Old Olive and Always Artichoke. For the second step, I used VersaMark and heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder. Here’s a little close-up of the detail:

All edges are distressed using the cute little Distressing Tool. Then I sponged around the edges with Ruby Red. Finally, I added a few gold brads and presto! When I need to send a card, I’ll just go ahead and add a sentiment to this one.

The bright coloured flowers and leaves are changing colour and starting to fall from great heights to the ground below! I look at this card as if I am looking down to the ground from the heavens above seeing the last splatter of colourful flowers and leaves as winter sets in.

This is a make’n'take I was making for a workshop I had!

As I was preparing the above card my 3 year old, Madison awoke to find mum doing craft!!! Madison was quick to ask to do craft too.. so I set her up and showed her how to do the 2 step stampin! I helped her with the brad, but all the rest she did herself from what I had precut. She has become an expert at edging!!! I was delighted to see her masterpiece!!! Don’t you just love it!!! See anyone, any-age can stamp!! :) It is called Bud Basics for a reason !! Giggle..giggle..!!

Recipe: Perfect plum, pale plum, certain celery, very vanilla, Bud basics stamp set, Blooming with Happiness stamp set!
