I’ve just got word from Andre Santos, PR rep for most of EMEA region that his company finally entered the world of water-cooling products with style.
TUL introduced LCS4870, or ATI Radeon 4870 with water-cooling block slapped on top of it. Engineers went at it, since the core clock is upped to 800 MHz, and memory is set at 950 MHz (3.8 GT/s or “GHz”). Of course, if you decide to void your warranty and install ATI Tool for massive overclocking, this water-block should help you into 1GHz GPU range, and memory should go to 1.1 GHz QDR (4.4 GT/s) and have bandwidth of 138 GB/s. Out of the box, you will get 118.4 GB/s.

Finally, single-slot cooling for Radeon 4870.

Package-wise, Power Color placed both low-flow and high-flow fittings (3/8″, 1/2″), while the retail price is set at 369 dollars.
Some manufacturers from both ATI and Nvidia world like to just remove the air cooler and slap the water cooling one, without replacing the bracket of the card - effectivelly leaving their owners with a dual-slot product. TUL didn’t made such a mistake and the board is proudly single-slot one. Meaning you could put six of them in one of upcoming X58-based motherboards, for ultimate Flight Simulator or Folding@home experience.
Then again, you just might want to have one silent computer

P.S. Guys, why the new card has only 512MB? Why not 1GB model, you could sell it for 30 USD more, and nobody would care…

Andaba inmerso esta mañana en las redes del google buscando tontunas, mientras escuchaba música y disfrutaba de la tranquilidad que me ha brindado mi compañero, cuando ha decidido que la gripe que tiene era motivo más que suficiente para no venir a trabajar.
De pronto un familiar tinoniii me avisa de que he recibido un correo. Tras leerlo dos o tres veces, por fin comprendo lo que me quiere decir.
Que soy el ganador de un concurso. Coño, que he ganado!

Resulta que Blog del Dia realiza un sorteo mensual de un enlace durante un mes en su blogroll y un pendrive usb de 1 GB.

Y éste mes he sido yo el afortunado.
Esque hay lunes que no son tan malos como parecen.

I’ve bought a few things to see whether they are engrave-able or not. If they work out well, then, note this, I’m going to give them away to my readers. For free. Yes. Really.

If I screw them up, then I’ll have a few more shooting targets, or maybe someone would still want them.

The only thing I haven’t figured out yet is how to give them away. The simplest would be to pick random commenter from people who’ve commented on the ‘Give Away’ post, but maybe someone has a better idea? 

OK, here they are. ‘Top’ things are 1GB iPod Shuffle and pqi 2GB memory stick.

Actually I bought Shuffle just to test whether this aluminium is engrave-able and how the effect looks like. If it is good enough I’ll probably buy iPod Nano for one of the next give aways. I have a few spoons too, but not sure which of them are made of metal that can be engraved.

Whoa, I’ve been spending my energies in a different direction of late.  I’ve just discovered “play lists”  and so I spend a lot of time creating new play lists.  Wow!  This is fun.  I wish Word press had an “Add Play list” function.  That would be cool. 

I’m one of those people who believes “Live Simply so others can Simply live” but the problem is that it clashes with my High Tech Side.  Yes, that’s right, my dream is to be a minimalist, but with a computer, of course and perhaps an iphone, Okay, okay, okay, maybe it should be the G1 (that’s minimalist me talking).  But secretly I’m salivating over the Iphone (shhhh, don’t tell anyone).  Me love Iphone ( - :

Oh and don’t even get me started on the Kindle.  Amazon’s Kindle, an electronic book reader.  Its great because, think of all the trees you’d save and every book is $9.99.  You’d save a bundle as well on books.  Yeah, I know you can go to the library.  Which I do, every week.  But all my favorite books are all out and I have to wait weeks for them. 

Boy, if we ever have some global earth crisis that causes a calamity causing us to have to live without any electricity, I’m going to be sooo screwed.  If I become a homeless person, you’ll see me sitting on the corner of a busy city with a sign [Will work for electricity] as I drag all my electronic equipment around with me. 

Maybe I should learn about Solar energy and how to convert it to regular electricity,  then maybe I could make it all work.  Our local Community College does offer a degree in Solar Energy.  Maybe that’s what I should do??? 

The reason I justify that I need an IPhone is because I’m spatially challenged (I can get lost in a phone booth).  And when I’m lost, well I could just look at my Iphone for directions.  Cool huh.  Well that’s it.  Also, I could blog from my phone.  (That’d be cool).

I didn’t even mention my digital camera.  My family is sick of me always taking pictures all the time.  My Dad always says, You’re wasting film.  Then I get to tell him about the neat technology called a memory card.  (Do you not love it!)  Dad just shakes his head and acts confused (because his personal memory card is a little messed up - Alzheimer). 

My favorite thing to do with people is to start showing friends, pictures on my camera, and they keep waiting to me to come to the end of the pictures, but what they don’t know is —my memory card is 1GB.  I can store hundreds of pictures on this baby. 

Picture it, people trying to be polite viewing all your stupid pet pictures and after about 60 pictures, they’re like, how many pictures do you have???  I have learned not to inflict my pictures on the general public with out careful evaluation.

YouTube’s official blog reported on Sept. 28 that users will be able to upload more data — 10-times more — to its site.

Users can now upload multiple files simultaneously and add tags while the data is being transmitted.

Being an N95 user, I never thought I would turn back (apart from when I upgraded to the 8gb one and then within 2 weeks went back to my lovely plum N95-1).

I hate the 8gb with a passion. I took it to the Nokia Service Centre regarding a loose slider. I was told that it was a manufacturing fault that Nokia were aware of, but there was nothing that could be done (unless I was prepared to pay £30 for an unofficial “fix” which would invalidate the warranty. The only decent part of the phone is the 8gb memory, which I have filled up with tunes and vids. The handset itself is…..well, awful.

I’ve always had Nokia since 1993 when the Nokia 101 was around, and have never turned to another manufacturer.

I’ve gone off the point.

I love my N95-1 to death. It’s out of warranty now, so I thought I’d try a little tweak to debrand it from Vodafone 0547869 to Euro 1, and then Euro 2, so I now have software version 30.0.015 on it

As I don’t care for the N95 8gb I also did that one as well. I mean, it might as well serve some use rather than gathering dust in the corner. Who knows, I may even one day start to use it! On the N95 8gb I have Euro 1 software version 30.0.018.

Recently though, after all that anoraking there, I’ve become a bit annoyed with the size of the phone. It’s great but sometimes I find it a little bit too big. So, I set about a little project last night, to restore my old Nokia 6230 (another fantastically amazing phone, and more stable than any other I’ve ever had)

I’ve filled up my now several years old 1gb (yes 1gb!!!!!!) memory card with tunes, and I’m loving it. Whilst I’ll probably go back to the N95 in a couple of minutes, days, er weeks, I’m thinking that old phones really are lovely. They’re so basic. They have Bluetooth (essential for toothing!), MP3 playing capability and they text and phone. They don’t have all this fancy PTT, Maps, Themes business.

Just remember. If you have an old phone laying around, pop your SIM in it and let it feel loved again. Old phones are great! They really, really are.
